:00:00. > :00:15.Hello! Jenny here, live with all the news you need to know this Saturday.

:00:16. > :00:18.We've got a jam- packed show for you, including: Some very big X

:00:19. > :00:20.Factor news about a certain Mr Simon Cowell.

:00:21. > :00:26.And rugby, as you've probably never seen it before. This is Newsround.

:00:27. > :00:29.First, news from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, where five gold medals are

:00:30. > :00:32.up for grabs today. Sadly, Britain's snowboarders, Jamie Nicholls and

:00:33. > :00:35.Billy Morgan, both missed out on medals in the first ever snowboard

:00:36. > :00:38.slopestyle final. Nicholls, from Yorkshire, had been in second place

:00:39. > :00:42.after his first run, but he slipped down the field after a disappointing

:00:43. > :00:46.second run where he clipped a railing. He ended up in sixth place.

:00:47. > :00:54.Morgan fell on both of his runs to finish 10th. The gold medal went to

:00:55. > :00:58.the USA's Sage Kotsenburg. More news on the storms now and

:00:59. > :01:00.people living in the flood-hit areas of southern England are bracing

:01:01. > :01:05.themselves for even more rain. Farmers are working really hard to

:01:06. > :01:09.keep their animals safe and fed. You can see here just how much water

:01:10. > :01:12.there is. More than 5,000 homes have been flooded since the bad weather

:01:13. > :01:19.started in December. The Government has promised ?15 million to protect

:01:20. > :01:23.people and their property. Now to the X Factor. Simon Cowell

:01:24. > :01:28.has confirmed he's coming back to judge on this year's show. The

:01:29. > :01:38.superstar judge left in 2010, but is set to make a return this autumn.

:01:39. > :01:43.He is one of the most feared judges TV history. Known for being mean to

:01:44. > :01:49.additional needs. Under his rule, The X Factor became the biggest show

:01:50. > :01:54.on British TV. In 2010 he left and ratings have suffered.

:01:55. > :01:58.Simon Cowell's company owns the X Factor and it has not been doing so

:01:59. > :02:02.well. Three years ago when he was last on the show, it got its highest

:02:03. > :02:08.ever ratings, 14 million people. Since then they have fallen every

:02:09. > :02:12.year. Last year they were below ten million and we must change that.

:02:13. > :02:15.Things have not gone well in America after.

:02:16. > :02:22.The X Factor programme on Fox channel in America has not proven a

:02:23. > :02:28.success. So Simon is coming back but we do not know who the other judges

:02:29. > :02:32.will be. Rita Ora has been suggested. They're tried to give it

:02:33. > :02:37.a younger feel amongst its audience members.

:02:38. > :02:43.Will Simon Cowell take the X Factor back to the top of the charts?

:02:44. > :02:47.He is going to be the head judge and is replacing Garry Barlow who left

:02:48. > :02:51.at the end of last CDs. The first seven years when he was there and

:02:52. > :03:01.being nasty, it's got great ratings. When he left the felt.

:03:02. > :03:04.-- they fell. And we want to know what you think

:03:05. > :03:08.about Simon's return. And who you think should be joining him on the

:03:09. > :03:10.judging panel. Head online and send us your comments.

:03:11. > :03:14.And Simon Cowell's not the only master of the talent show - this

:03:15. > :03:18.guy, Joe McElderry, beat thousands to win the X Factor in 2009 and now

:03:19. > :03:21.he's become king of the slopes after winning Channel 4's winter sports

:03:22. > :03:25.show, The Jump. We sent Ayshah to find out what it's like hurtling

:03:26. > :03:28.down the slopes at super-fast speeds when you're not a Winter Olympic

:03:29. > :03:34.sports star. Hi Joe McElderry, thank you so much

:03:35. > :03:39.for speaking to Newsround. Well done on your victory. Did you think you

:03:40. > :03:47.were going to win? I was having a nature lacks an apology -- nice,

:03:48. > :03:50.relaxing holiday but then people were getting injured. I never

:03:51. > :03:58.thought I could win it. I was trying to relax on the slopes. The jump I

:03:59. > :04:05.had to do was not relaxing! The skeleton was my most difficult

:04:06. > :04:11.event. I was minutes away from the top of the skeleton run and thinking

:04:12. > :04:16.I could not do it. I was very scared and shaking. I could not speak. I

:04:17. > :04:25.got up at the end and people ask me how it was. It is like being on a

:04:26. > :04:29.tree -- a dinner tray with little rails on it and you are not far from

:04:30. > :04:35.the ground. If you can imagine going down and I track at 70 mph and all

:04:36. > :04:40.that is keeping you on that dinner tray are your arms, it is not a

:04:41. > :04:45.natural thing, horrible. Now you will have a different view of the

:04:46. > :04:53.Sochi Olympics. What events are you looking forward to viewing? I take

:04:54. > :04:57.my hat off to them. I realise the training now that these Olympians

:04:58. > :05:03.have to go through and the dedication and skill required. We

:05:04. > :05:06.only did about 10% of what they have to learn. I have such admiration for

:05:07. > :05:09.those sports people. It's the second weekend of the Six

:05:10. > :05:12.Nations where Ireland will host defending champions Wales at 2:30pm

:05:13. > :05:18.today. Both teams won their opening matches. At 5pm, Scotland take on

:05:19. > :05:22.England at Murrayfield. Both sides lost last weekend.

:05:23. > :05:26.While we're in a rugby mood, here's a little look at an alternative

:05:27. > :05:29.version of the sport. This is underwater rugby. The sport started

:05:30. > :05:34.in Germany about 50 years ago and it's growing in popularity. Now 19

:05:35. > :05:38.nations take part in the World Cup. It's even taken off in the UK, with

:05:39. > :05:41.the first club having just opened in London. Without the crunching

:05:42. > :05:45.tackles and injuries, this rugby looks a bit kinder!

:05:46. > :05:48.That's all from me, Newsround's back, right here, with another

:05:49. > :05:51.update at 1:55pm. In the meantime, don't forget about all our Winter

:05:52. > :05:55.Olympics info on the website. We've got our ultimate guide to Sochi and

:05:56. > :05:57.the five Winter Olympic sports you must not miss. That's it for now.

:05:58. > :06:02.Bye!
