:00:00. > :00:08.Hello, I'm Jenny, you are live with Newsround's last bulletin of the

:00:09. > :00:12.day. Coming up... We find out what you think about

:00:13. > :00:24.Simon Cowell's return to the Uk's X Factor. And the deer braving the

:00:25. > :00:28.floodwaters. This is Newsround. First, the bad weather is still a

:00:29. > :00:31.massive problem for parts of the UK. Gales are continuing to batter

:00:32. > :00:34.southern areas with winds of 80mph along the coasts of Cornwall, the

:00:35. > :00:38.Bristol Channel, and West Wales, and more rain is on the way. It's been a

:00:39. > :00:41.miserable time for people living in affected areas. More than 5,000

:00:42. > :00:44.homes have been flooded since the bad weather started in December.

:00:45. > :00:48.Coastguards in Devon said they were expecting "phenomenal" waves to hit

:00:49. > :00:52.offshore. Huge waves have already damaged railway tracks and homes.

:00:53. > :01:03.And people have been injured as their properties got battered.

:01:04. > :01:14.Iowa's lifestyle. A huge wave hit the door and took the door of their

:01:15. > :01:17.injuries. -- I was with my son. Next to the X Factor and Simon

:01:18. > :01:21.Cowell has confirmed he's coming back to Britain to be a judge this

:01:22. > :01:26.year. He left the UK show in 2010 but has just announced his return.

:01:27. > :01:33.He is one of the most feared judges and TV yesterday. Knowing -- known

:01:34. > :01:43.to be pretty mean to a dish -- those auditioning. In 2010 Simon Cowell

:01:44. > :01:48.(rating suffered. Simon Cowell owns the X Factor. The last time he was

:01:49. > :01:53.on the shore, three years ago, got the highest ever ratings. That was

:01:54. > :01:59.the year one direction were discovered. Last year viewers were

:02:00. > :02:11.below 10 million. They need to recover that. Meetings in X Factor

:02:12. > :02:20.America have fallen. We do not know who will set aside. No Sharon

:02:21. > :02:26.Osbourne. It will be a younger fuel amongst the judges. Will Simon's X

:02:27. > :02:33.Factor take X Factor back to the top of the charts. If Simon FAQ --

:02:34. > :02:40.Powell is on the X factor, people will hear about war. -- Simon

:02:41. > :02:47.Cowell. When he is nasty, it gets good readings. When he went away,

:02:48. > :02:51.the valve. -- these cell. Online you've been telling us what

:02:52. > :02:53.you think about Cowell's comeback. Emily from London thinks it's funny

:02:54. > :02:57.when Simon tells contestants the truth if they're bad, but says, "I

:02:58. > :03:01.do feel sorry for them." And Poppy from Southampton says: "I think it

:03:02. > :03:04.will be good but I liked Gary Barlow, too. They both say exactly

:03:05. > :03:08.what they think." But Chaira from Staffordshire is not so sure,

:03:09. > :03:11.saying, "Oh no! He is back!" If you want to have your say on this, head

:03:12. > :03:15.over to the Newsround website right now.

:03:16. > :03:18.It was a disappointing start to the Winter Olympics for Team GB's

:03:19. > :03:21.snowboarders Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan, who both missed out on

:03:22. > :03:24.medals, in the first ever Snowboard Slopestyle final. Nicholls, from

:03:25. > :03:28.Yorkshire, had been in second place after his first run, but he slipped

:03:29. > :03:31.down the field after a disappointing second run where he clipped a

:03:32. > :03:35.railing. He ended up in sixth place. Morgan fell on both of his runs to

:03:36. > :03:45.finish 10th. The gold medal went to USA's Sage Kotsenburg. You can catch

:03:46. > :03:49.the Olympic action over on BBC Two. Now, if you were glued to Channel

:03:50. > :03:52.4's winter sport show, The Jump, you'll have seen pop star Joe

:03:53. > :03:55.McElderry crowned champion. During the show, celebrities took to the

:03:56. > :04:00.slopes in a variety of winter sports - but how did it compare to the real

:04:01. > :04:03.thing? Well we caught up with king of the slopes, Joe, who told us he

:04:04. > :04:08.has a lot of respect for professional athletes. I realise

:04:09. > :04:13.now... Any Olympian or person, I realised what the training they have

:04:14. > :04:16.to go through and the dedication and the skill. After learning what we

:04:17. > :04:22.had to learn in a short space of time, that is not even 10% of what

:04:23. > :04:29.they have to learn. I take my hat off to admiration.

:04:30. > :04:34.Now if you're not a fan of flying, this new research may make things a

:04:35. > :04:37.little easier for you. A lab in Germany is testing virtual reality

:04:38. > :04:42.goggles to help people cope with turbulence. This robotic pod

:04:43. > :04:45.simulates a plane shaking about. The virtual reality specs show images of

:04:46. > :04:49.a flying carpet, which researchers say takes your mind off the plane's

:04:50. > :04:52.wobbling. It's the second weekend of the Six

:04:53. > :04:55.Nations, where Ireland will host defending champions Wales at 2.30pm

:04:56. > :04:59.today. Both teams won their opening matches. At 5pm, Scotland take on

:05:00. > :05:02.England at Murrayfield - those sides both lost last weekend. And sticking

:05:03. > :05:05.with rugby - take a little look at an alternative version of the sport.

:05:06. > :05:09.This is underwater rugby. The sport started in Germany about 50 years

:05:10. > :05:13.ago, and it's growing in popularity - now 19 nations take part in the

:05:14. > :05:16.World Cup. It's even taken off in the UK, with the first club having

:05:17. > :05:24.just opened in London. Without the crunching tackles and injuries this

:05:25. > :05:30.rugby looks a bit kinder. It is completely out of your comfort zone.

:05:31. > :05:36.You have to have eyes on the back of your head. In the water you are

:05:37. > :05:44.suspended so you are less likely to do any damage or aggravate any old

:05:45. > :05:47.injuries. It is like nothing else. And we've just time to show you

:05:48. > :05:50.these great pictures of swimming deer. They were filmed by workers at

:05:51. > :05:53.the Slimbridge Wetlands Trust in Gloucestershire who say it's the

:05:54. > :05:56.first time they've ever seen anything like it. Here they are

:05:57. > :06:00.crossing the severn flood plain - an area that has suffered from the bad

:06:01. > :06:01.weather. -- the Severn flood plain. They look like
