0:00:04 > 0:00:06Hi, I'm Ricky.

0:00:06 > 0:00:10It's Wednesday, and here's what's coming up on Newsround today:

0:00:10 > 0:00:14The bird ballet coming to an end in Cumbria.

0:00:14 > 0:00:19And the snowball fight raising the temperature in Canada.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30First, seeing pictures of your friends, beautiful places

0:00:30 > 0:00:31or cute animals on social media can be fun, but what if a picture

0:00:33 > 0:00:36of you pops up that you don't like and didn't share yourself?

0:00:36 > 0:00:41Some of the people who post the most pictures of you are parents,

0:00:41 > 0:00:46and you don't always think that's a good thing, as I've

0:00:46 > 0:00:50been finding out.

0:00:50 > 0:00:57When my mum takes pictures of me, she'll do it when I'm not looking,

0:00:57 > 0:01:00My first ever bath, I sort of just collapsed

0:01:00 > 0:01:02into it, and my mum posted that on Facebook.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05Sometimes, I wish they weren't on social media, because

0:01:05 > 0:01:08they might comment embarrassing things on photos that I put on.

0:01:08 > 0:01:12They'll take one of me and my siblings and put it on, and it might

0:01:12 > 0:01:19be, like, a really bad picture of me, or, like, a baby photo.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21More than one in three 10-12 -year-olds

0:01:21 > 0:01:23told Newsround they feel embarrassed, anxious or worried when

0:01:23 > 0:01:26their parents put pictures of them on social media sites.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28So, do mums and dads need to think more about

0:01:28 > 0:01:29what they are sharing?

0:01:29 > 0:01:32My mum took a picture of me when I was sleeping,

0:01:32 > 0:01:33so I obviously didn't know until morning.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36She said, look how many comments you've got on this photo,

0:01:36 > 0:01:38and I was just really angry at her.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40They just, like, post whatever they can find.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42They just don't really think about anything.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44They might post it just to have a laugh with

0:01:44 > 0:01:46their mates, and think it's funny for her,

0:01:46 > 0:01:48but it may not be funny for

0:01:48 > 0:01:49you.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51You think about it, but they don't think about it.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53They can get bullied for it, and you don't want

0:01:53 > 0:01:55that happening to your own child.

0:01:55 > 0:01:56It's not just parents.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58More than one in four said they've been unhappy

0:01:58 > 0:02:01with a picture someone else has shared of them, and that's mainly

0:02:01 > 0:02:04because they didn't like the way they looked, or that person didn't

0:02:04 > 0:02:06ask for their permission, and some say they've

0:02:06 > 0:02:11even had nasty comments.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14My friend posted a story of me, and I didn't like it.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17I asked him to take it down, and then he took it

0:02:17 > 0:02:19down.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22May be the reason that you don't have a social media account is

0:02:22 > 0:02:24because you don't want anyone to see your photo,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27and then people are sharing photos of you, and I just

0:02:27 > 0:02:29think it's not nice without their permission.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31When I see nasty comments, I feel really scared to

0:02:31 > 0:02:34use social media, because I don't want to be targeted like them.

0:02:34 > 0:02:35When my friend posted an embarrassing

0:02:35 > 0:02:38picture of me, it made me feel quite frustrated and angry.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41More than one in three of the kids we asked said

0:02:41 > 0:02:43seeing a picture of them they didn't like made

0:02:43 > 0:02:44them feel sad, anxious or

0:02:44 > 0:02:45nervous.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47What can you do about feeling that way?

0:02:47 > 0:02:49Approach the person who's put the picture online

0:02:49 > 0:02:53to ask them to take it down, and tell them that they are worried

0:02:53 > 0:02:56about it, and speak to a parent or another trusted adult.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59Sometimes, a parent can reassure the child that

0:02:59 > 0:03:01although the picture might be embarrassing at the moment, in a

0:03:01 > 0:03:04couple of days, the picture will be forgotten about.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07But the good news is that mostly mums and dads do get

0:03:07 > 0:03:10it right.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Nearly half of the 10-12 -year-olds said they were OK with

0:03:12 > 0:03:14what their parents posted, and what they saw made them

0:03:14 > 0:03:21feel happy and proud.

0:03:21 > 0:03:22So, what's your message for parents?

0:03:22 > 0:03:25It can affect the child's life further on, and the child's life at

0:03:25 > 0:03:26school.

0:03:26 > 0:03:29Your child's friends will see what ever you comment on my

0:03:29 > 0:03:31photo.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34Maybe, like, when you post photos, like, they could ask first,

0:03:34 > 0:03:36because, like, sometimes, my mum just posts them.

0:03:36 > 0:03:42Don't let parents have social media.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45So, do you get embarrassed by your mum or dad sharing photos of you?

0:03:45 > 0:03:48We want you to know your thoughts so head online and leave us

0:03:48 > 0:03:52a comment, and we'll try to read out as many as we can later.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55Football now, and current Premier champions Leicester City are now

0:03:55 > 0:03:57only one point clear of the dreaded relegation zone.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59The club have said that they still support manager

0:03:59 > 0:04:00Claudio Ranieri, though.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03They said that "the entire club is, and will remain, united

0:04:03 > 0:04:08behind its manager".

0:04:08 > 0:04:10Leicester will face Derby in a fourth-round FA

0:04:24 > 0:04:28ritual or murmuration.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33The season ends later this month.

0:04:33 > 0:04:35Experts say the birds do this for many reasons -

0:04:35 > 0:04:39grouping together offers safety in numbers.

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Finally to another epic display - hundreds of university

0:04:41 > 0:04:43students in Vancouver, Canada got together for this

0:04:43 > 0:04:46huge snowball fight.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49Massive amounts of snow fell in the city over the weekend,

0:04:49 > 0:04:51so it was decided the best thing to do was organise

0:04:51 > 0:04:56a giant snowball battle.

0:04:56 > 0:04:57That's all from me.
