0:00:04 > 0:00:05Good morning.
0:00:05 > 0:00:06You're watching Newsround this Wednesday.
0:00:06 > 0:00:08Coming up this hour:
0:00:08 > 0:00:11The bird ballet coming to an end in Cumbria.
0:00:11 > 0:00:13And, curious and curiouser - the Alice in Wonderland
0:00:13 > 0:00:17items up for sale.
0:00:26 > 0:00:28First, seeing pictures of your friends, beautiful places
0:00:28 > 0:00:31or cute animals on social media can be fun, but what if a picture
0:00:31 > 0:00:34of you pops up that you don't like and didn't share yourself?
0:00:34 > 0:00:37Some of the people who post the most pictures of you are parents,
0:00:37 > 0:00:41and you don't always think that's a good thing, as I've
0:00:41 > 0:00:45been finding out.
0:00:45 > 0:00:49When my mum takes pictures of me, she'll do it when I'm not looking,
0:00:49 > 0:00:51and then she won't ask and she'll just put it on.
0:00:51 > 0:00:54My first ever bath, I sort of just collapsed
0:00:54 > 0:00:56into it, and my mum posted that on Facebook.
0:00:56 > 0:00:59Sometimes, I wish they weren't on social media, because
0:00:59 > 0:01:04they might comment embarrassing things on photos that I put on.
0:01:04 > 0:01:07They'll take one of me and my siblings and put it on, and it might
0:01:07 > 0:01:10be, like, a really bad picture of me, or, like, a baby photo.
0:01:10 > 0:01:12More than one in three 10-12 -year-olds
0:01:12 > 0:01:14told Newsround they feel embarrassed, anxious or worried when
0:01:14 > 0:01:17their parents put pictures of them on social media sites.
0:01:17 > 0:01:19So, do mums and dads need to think more about
0:01:19 > 0:01:24what they are sharing?
0:01:24 > 0:01:26My mum took a picture of me when I was sleeping,
0:01:26 > 0:01:28so I obviously didn't know until morning.
0:01:28 > 0:01:30She said, look how many comments you've got on this photo,
0:01:30 > 0:01:32and I was just really angry at her.
0:01:32 > 0:01:34They just, like, post whatever they can find.
0:01:34 > 0:01:37They just don't really think about anything.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39They might post it just to have a laugh with
0:01:39 > 0:01:41their mates, and think it's funny for her,
0:01:41 > 0:01:43but it may not be funny for
0:01:43 > 0:01:45you.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48You think about it, but they don't think about it.
0:01:48 > 0:01:50They can get bullied for it, and you don't want
0:01:50 > 0:01:52that happening to your own child.
0:01:52 > 0:01:54It's not just parents.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56More than one in four said they've been unhappy
0:01:56 > 0:01:59with a picture someone else has shared of them, and that's mainly
0:01:59 > 0:02:01because they didn't like the way they looked, or that person didn't
0:02:01 > 0:02:04ask for their permission, and some say they've
0:02:04 > 0:02:07even had nasty comments.
0:02:07 > 0:02:10My friend posted a story of me, and I didn't like it.
0:02:10 > 0:02:13I asked him to take it down, and then he took it
0:02:13 > 0:02:15down.
0:02:15 > 0:02:18May be the reason that you don't have a social media account is
0:02:18 > 0:02:20because you don't want anyone to see your photo,
0:02:20 > 0:02:22and then people are sharing photos of you, and I just
0:02:22 > 0:02:24think it's not nice without their permission.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27When I see nasty comments, I feel really scared to
0:02:27 > 0:02:29use social media, because I don't want to be targeted like them.
0:02:29 > 0:02:31When my friend posted an embarrassing
0:02:31 > 0:02:34picture of me, it made me feel quite frustrated and angry.
0:02:34 > 0:02:36More than one in three of the kids we asked said
0:02:36 > 0:02:38seeing a picture of them they didn't like made
0:02:38 > 0:02:40them feel sad, anxious or
0:02:40 > 0:02:41nervous.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43What can you do about feeling that way?
0:02:43 > 0:02:44Approach the person who's put the picture online
0:02:44 > 0:02:49to ask them to take it down, and tell them that they are worried
0:02:49 > 0:02:52about it, and speak to a parent or another trusted adult.
0:02:52 > 0:02:54Sometimes, a parent can reassure the child that
0:02:54 > 0:02:57although the picture might be embarrassing at the moment, in a
0:02:57 > 0:03:02couple of days, the picture will be forgotten about.
0:03:02 > 0:03:05But the good news is that mostly mums and dads do get
0:03:05 > 0:03:06it right.
0:03:06 > 0:03:08Nearly half of the 10-12 -year-olds said they were OK with
0:03:08 > 0:03:11what their parents posted, and what they saw made them
0:03:11 > 0:03:12feel happy and proud.
0:03:12 > 0:03:15So, what's your message for parents?
0:03:15 > 0:03:18It can affect the child's life further on, and the child's life at
0:03:18 > 0:03:19school.
0:03:19 > 0:03:22Your child's friends will see what ever you comment on my
0:03:22 > 0:03:27photo.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29Maybe, like, when you post photos, like, they could ask first,
0:03:29 > 0:03:31because, like, sometimes, my mum just posts them.
0:03:31 > 0:03:36Don't let parents have social media.
0:03:38 > 0:03:41So, do you get embarrassed by your mum or dad sharing photos of you?
0:03:41 > 0:03:44We want you to know your thoughts, so head online and leave us
0:03:44 > 0:03:48a comment, and we'll try to read out as many as we can later.
0:03:48 > 0:03:50And some of you have already been in touch.
0:03:50 > 0:03:52Nine-year-old Isla says her mum posts super embarrassing pictures
0:03:52 > 0:03:55of her, like when she has spilt ice cream on her nose!
0:03:55 > 0:03:59Most of the time, Isla doesn't like what her mum posts about her.
0:03:59 > 0:04:01And 10-year-old Ruby says just the other day her mum posted
0:04:01 > 0:04:04a picture of her on social media and she felt really uncomfortable.
0:04:04 > 0:04:09But Ruby spoke to her mum, and she immediately removed them.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11Football now, and current Premier league champions Leicester City
0:04:11 > 0:04:14are now only one point clear of the dreaded relegation zone.
0:04:14 > 0:04:17The club have said that they still support manager
0:04:17 > 0:04:22Claudio Ranieri, though.
0:04:22 > 0:04:24They said "the entire club is, and will remain, united
0:04:24 > 0:04:25behind its manager".
0:04:25 > 0:04:27Leicester will face Derby in a fourth-round FA
0:04:27 > 0:04:30Cup replay tonight.

0:05:04 > 0:05:09The season ends later this month.
