0:01:58 > 0:02:01Being a girl can be difficult in so many ways.
0:02:01 > 0:02:04I feel like there's one major challenge that maybe some
0:02:04 > 0:02:06of you that are watching Newsround might have faced and
0:02:06 > 0:02:07that is comparison.
0:02:07 > 0:02:11You shouldn't compare yourself to anyone else.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14We live in a crazy selfie generation and there's so much pressure put
0:02:14 > 0:02:17on the way that you look and the way that you present yourself that
0:02:17 > 0:02:20sometimes the really good stuff that's going to make you soar
0:02:20 > 0:02:26and make dreams come true gets overlooked.
0:02:26 > 0:02:29So, I'm 17, a year away from being an adult officially,
0:02:29 > 0:02:31and I would give the advice to my younger self
0:02:31 > 0:02:38of just not being scared.
0:02:38 > 0:02:40Not mind so much about what other people say
0:02:40 > 0:02:42about you or think about your ideas.
0:02:42 > 0:02:43Don't let anyone hold you back.
0:02:43 > 0:02:45We are all individuals, we all have different lives.
0:02:45 > 0:02:49I think you have that one life, you've got to live it and you've
0:02:49 > 0:02:52just got to enjoy everything you do.
0:02:52 > 0:02:54The way you dress, the music you listen to,
0:02:54 > 0:02:56the things you write about, the things you read, they're
0:02:56 > 0:02:58personal to you and if they're important
0:02:58 > 0:02:59to you, they're important.
0:02:59 > 0:03:01Don't worry so much about fitting in with
0:03:01 > 0:03:02everybody else, just stick to
0:03:02 > 0:03:03what you're doing.
0:03:03 > 0:03:04You're pretty cool.
0:03:04 > 0:03:05You can always do it.
0:03:05 > 0:03:06You can do it.
0:03:06 > 0:03:07Just do it!
0:03:07 > 0:03:10Just keep your eyes on the prize.
0:03:10 > 0:03:13Stop caring what other people think.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Great advice for everyone.
0:03:23 > 0:03:25Next, it's six months since Hurricane Irma swept
0:03:25 > 0:03:26across the Caribbean islands.
0:03:26 > 0:03:27It was the worst hurricane there's ever been.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30BBC reporter Paul Blake is visiting the British Virgin Islands to find
0:03:30 > 0:03:32out how the area's recovering.
0:03:32 > 0:03:34Hey, Newsround.
0:03:34 > 0:03:42Over the last six months people here in the British
0:03:44 > 0:03:46Virgin Islands have been busy rebuilding and cleaning up after
0:03:46 > 0:03:47Hurricane Irma.
0:03:47 > 0:03:51The hurricane spread a lot of debris and rubbish all across the
0:03:51 > 0:03:53islands, bits of people's houses, their boats, their cars.
0:03:53 > 0:03:56And workers have been busy collecting it and
0:03:56 > 0:03:59moving it to a dump away from other people.
0:03:59 > 0:04:01But a lot of houses and offices are still heavily damaged
0:04:01 > 0:04:04and the builders are working every day to try to repair them.
0:04:04 > 0:04:06Meanwhile all the schoolkids are back in class,
0:04:06 > 0:04:09but many are attending schools that are not their own because their
0:04:09 > 0:04:10classrooms are still damaged.
0:04:10 > 0:04:13A lot of people here hope the workers can
0:04:13 > 0:04:15begin to repair some of the school buildings soon.
0:04:15 > 0:04:18A lot of progress has been made in the British Virgin Islands,
0:04:18 > 0:04:20but there is still a lot of work to do.
0:04:20 > 0:04:23The next hurricane season begins in less than three months, and people
0:04:23 > 0:04:27here say they want to be as prepared as possible for the next storm.
0:04:27 > 0:04:29Now it's not often you see a volcano really blow its top.
0:04:29 > 0:04:32But check this out!
0:04:32 > 0:04:34These explosive eruptions are coming from Mount Shinmoedake
0:04:34 > 0:04:36in southwestern Japan.
0:04:36 > 0:04:41It's the volcano's first major eruption in seven years.
0:04:41 > 0:04:47Incredible!
0:04:47 > 0:04:49And check out these nosey penguins in Antarctica.
0:04:49 > 0:04:51The camera was left on the ice by an explorer
0:04:51 > 0:04:53who was part of an expedition team.
0:04:53 > 0:04:55And the penguins just couldn't help themselves -
0:04:55 > 0:04:57posing for a bit of a selfie down the lens.
0:04:57 > 0:04:59Look at them having a good old nosey!
0:04:59 > 0:05:01That's it from us.
