:00:00. > :00:07.Good afternoon, Team Newsround. Ayshah here with a brilliant
:00:08. > :00:11.bulletin for you. Coming your way in the next five.
:00:12. > :00:13.Helen Skelton, JK Rowling, and David Walliams - just some of the
:00:14. > :00:25.inspirational people you want on magazine front covers.
:00:26. > :00:31.And I am in Birmingham checking out cool gadgets including this led that
:00:32. > :00:35.you can control with your phone. First to a subject that's got lots
:00:36. > :00:38.of you getting in touch. Who should be on the front covers of your
:00:39. > :00:41.favourite magazines? Leah's been speaking to the editor of Girl Talk,
:00:42. > :00:45.one of Britain's top pre-teen mags, who says there are too many pop
:00:46. > :00:48.stars and actors on front pages. They're now going to use more
:00:49. > :00:56.positive role models, like top sportswomen and inventors. There is
:00:57. > :01:01.no problem wanting to see pop stars or looking up to them. The campaign
:01:02. > :01:07.is about making sure that girls see other people on the covers as well.
:01:08. > :01:10.We will have Jessica Ennis in the future which is a big step as we
:01:11. > :01:17.have never had a sports person before. Some people may say that
:01:18. > :01:24.someone like Jessica Ennis is really pretty. So is it much of a change?
:01:25. > :01:28.It is complicated and pushing the boundaries has to be done quite
:01:29. > :01:33.gently. There cannot be a radical change. You've been suggesting who
:01:34. > :01:36.you'd want on the front cover. Amelia wants Olympians like Jess
:01:37. > :01:40.Ennis-Hill, Victoria Pendleton or Nicola Adams. She says most magazine
:01:41. > :01:45.editors choose pop stars and they eventually get boring. Try someone
:01:46. > :01:48.different! Maisie wants Dick and Dom as they're boys and it's usually
:01:49. > :01:51.girls that are on the front cover. Joe suggests author Jaqueline Wilson
:01:52. > :01:55.because she's inspirational and could influence anyone to become a
:01:56. > :01:58.successful person like her. And Zoe's chosen Rebecca Adlington
:01:59. > :02:03.because she thinks she's an amazing and inspirational person! Thanks to
:02:04. > :02:08.all of you who got in touch - there's plenty more on the website.
:02:09. > :02:12.Next to a huge medical breakthrough that brings hope for people with
:02:13. > :02:16.spinal injuries. Four paralysed men who had been unable to move from the
:02:17. > :02:19.chest down, can now move their legs, after a new treatment in America.
:02:20. > :02:22.Special electrical pulses were used to stimulate the spinal cords
:02:23. > :02:26.meaning the men could move their legs, hips, ankles and toes, though
:02:27. > :02:29.they're not yet able to walk on their own. Researchers say the
:02:30. > :02:37.technique could help millions of people worldwide affected by back
:02:38. > :02:41.injuries. The treatment is specifically for
:02:42. > :02:45.people who have had an injury to their spinal cord which has
:02:46. > :02:51.interrupted the flow of information. So it will not help everyone but for
:02:52. > :02:54.people who have had dramatic spinal injuries, damage to their back
:02:55. > :03:00.interrupting the flow of information to and from the lakes, there is a
:03:01. > :03:04.lot of hope. -- the legs. Last up, imagine turning your tablet
:03:05. > :03:08.into some DJ decks, or being able to check what your dog is up to when
:03:09. > :03:11.you're out. Just two of the next generation of gadgets on display in
:03:12. > :03:21.Birmingham from tomorrow. Earlier today we sent Martin to check out
:03:22. > :03:32.what the future holds. From smart beds to flying robots, it's all here
:03:33. > :03:40.at the Gadget Show. This might look like a dog biscuit but what you do
:03:41. > :03:46.is attach it to the collar and link it to your tablet or smartphone. You
:03:47. > :03:50.can track the movements of your dog. And at your next birthday party you
:03:51. > :03:57.could be entertaining your friends with this. It is called a mixing
:03:58. > :04:01.desk. You can hook it up to your tablet and all your favourite songs
:04:02. > :04:09.can be loaded into this and you can make your favourite tunes. What is
:04:10. > :04:14.special about this scooter was like the normal scooter is brilliant fun
:04:15. > :04:19.but you can struggle with where you can ride it. But this will pretty
:04:20. > :04:26.much go anywhere. For the first time, smaller independent gaming
:04:27. > :04:34.companies are here showing off their ideas. It is great for us because we
:04:35. > :04:39.can afford to make the games. People download them and hopefully we get
:04:40. > :04:44.paid at the end of the month? This is very comfortable. It will adjust
:04:45. > :04:51.to your own body shape. You can adjust the firmness and the
:04:52. > :04:55.temperature. All these gadgets have tired me out. It's time to call it a
:04:56. > :04:58.day. That's all from me, Newsround's back
:04:59. > :05:02.with the last word on CBBC at 6:50pm.
