:00:52. > :00:58.He is so influential he has 30 honorary degrees, a knighthood,

:00:59. > :01:01.and even had new species named after him, including a type

:01:02. > :01:06.of spider, a flesh eating plant and a fossilised fish.

:01:07. > :01:10.No museum in the world has a complete specimen of this species.

:01:11. > :01:13.Human beings exterminated it in the middle of the 17th century.

:01:14. > :01:16.There are a lot of animals today that face

:01:17. > :01:21.He's used his programmes to tell people about

:01:22. > :01:27.different animals that need protection from extinction.

:01:28. > :01:30.Some of his biggest admirers include US President Barack Obama and CBBC's

:01:31. > :01:34.My earliest memories of Sir David Attenborough were watching his

:01:35. > :01:36.Zoo Quest series, which was quite a long time ago now.

:01:37. > :01:40.I instantly thought, that is amazing,

:01:41. > :01:45.that is what I want to do with my life.

:01:46. > :01:48.Attenborough often gets up close and personal with the

:01:49. > :01:56.His unique voice and enthusiastic descriptions are his trademark.

:01:57. > :01:59.These are greylag geese, the same species that

:02:00. > :02:05.David Attenborough has changed the way many people see and think

:04:24. > :04:30.What new wonders such expeditions will discover any future no one

:04:31. > :04:41.knows - but one thing is certain, that with project like this,

:04:42. > :04:44.they will be more accessible for us to see than ever before.

:04:45. > :04:48.Finally, just time to check out the strangest stories of the week.
