:00:11. > :00:15.Hello there. Do not go anywhere. Put down the remote, because we
:00:15. > :00:20.have something for everyone. Leah and Ricky here. Loads coming your
:00:20. > :00:24.way. Including this - the children in Africa risking their lives for a
:00:24. > :00:29.meater one. Another chance to see the dog with the record-breaking
:00:29. > :00:32.ears. First, a blind penalty shootout, sitting volleyball and
:00:32. > :00:38.rugby for wheelchairs. They are some of the events that have been
:00:38. > :00:44.on show to mark paralympic Day. Loads of athletes were showing off
:00:44. > :00:48.their skills in Trafalgar Square. I was there earlier. It's time to get
:00:48. > :00:53.excited. All day GB athletes have been showing off what the
:00:53. > :01:03.paralympics are going to be about. We've had demonstrations of sitting
:01:03. > :01:05.
:01:05. > :01:10.volleyball and wheelchair rugby and tennis. With more than 4,000
:01:10. > :01:19.athletes from over 150 countries taking part in 20 different sports,
:01:19. > :01:23.there's lots to look forward to. But, there is also lots to fight
:01:23. > :01:27.for. Hosting the Games in London will mean there is extra pressure
:01:27. > :01:36.on Team GB to do well, so fans will expect plenty of excitement like
:01:36. > :01:41.this. That's Ellie Simmonds winning gold at the Beijing paralympics. It
:01:41. > :01:47.was three years ago. She was 13. She will be hoping to match it next
:01:47. > :01:52.year. I have a good support team and I enjoy it. It's a great
:01:52. > :01:57.experience to have the paralympics as your home Games and days like
:01:57. > :02:02.this is exciting. When it comes to track and field, there's one man
:02:02. > :02:06.everyone is talking about, Oscar Pistorius. He had both his legs
:02:06. > :02:09.amputated when he was a baby, but that hasn't stopped him achieving
:02:09. > :02:13.his dreams. This year he's hoping to compete in the Olympics and the
:02:13. > :02:15.paralympics. I feel a lot of pressure. I have a great
:02:15. > :02:20.responsibility in the sport to educate people about disability and
:02:20. > :02:25.I would like to do that on the best platform possible and I would also
:02:25. > :02:32.like to, for myself, I train hard, so I don't want to let myself down
:02:32. > :02:35.at the events. The countdown is on. 356 days to go until the opening
:02:35. > :02:41.ceremony. Two million tickets will go on sale tomorrow and half of
:02:41. > :02:45.those will cost 10 or less. Guys, what are you waiting for? It looks
:02:45. > :02:48.like the mascot is having a great time. The excitement is spreading.
:02:48. > :02:51.Children of all abilities have been having a go at some of the sports
:02:52. > :03:00.in London today. Many of the kids were trying them out for the first
:03:00. > :03:04.time and we caught up with them to find out how they got on. I was
:03:04. > :03:09.playing wheelchair basketball. I never played it before. It was
:03:09. > :03:14.exciting. I was playing volleyball and it was difficult to hit it.
:03:14. > :03:18.liked it when we passed the ball to each other and we got 20 points in
:03:18. > :03:23.it. I enjoyed the table cricket moment, because I thought it was a
:03:23. > :03:32.lot different to any of the others. We played table tennis against
:03:32. > :03:35.everybody and we beat all of them. I'm looking forward to the
:03:35. > :03:38.wheelchair basketball because it looks really good fun, because you
:03:38. > :03:46.have to work your arms hard and it looks quite challenging the way you
:03:46. > :03:49.have to pass the ball. I'm looking forward to the wheelchair racing,
:03:50. > :03:54.because everyone is going to be there. I'm really excited and today
:03:54. > :03:57.has given me a taster of what will happen. We want to know what
:03:57. > :04:01.paralympic sport you are looking forward to seeing. Head over to the
:04:01. > :04:07.website to let us know. Now to a man who deserves a gold
:04:07. > :04:12.medal of his own. David Walliams - he's behind schedule in his mission
:04:12. > :04:17.to swim the length of the River Thames. The water has given him a
:04:17. > :04:23.bad tummy. It is thought he will reach Reading by the end of the day.
:04:23. > :04:27.He's already raised 300,000. He doesn't look happy. Remember the
:04:27. > :04:31.dog with these. This is the record- breaking dog with the ears.
:04:31. > :04:37.Thousands have been clicking on the website. It's been going into
:04:37. > :04:42.meltdown. We thought we would show him in action. Here he is in
:04:42. > :04:46.America. His ears are over 30 centimetres long. Now to the very
:04:46. > :04:51.wet US Open. Just an hour ago, Andy Murray resumed his match two days
:04:51. > :04:55.of rain meant he only managed to play three games yesterday.
:04:55. > :05:02.reckons it will be tough to scoop the title. He could have to play
:05:02. > :05:06.four matches in four days to win. We hope the rain holds off. Now to
:05:06. > :05:10.Africa, where thousands of children from Zimbabwe have been leaving
:05:10. > :05:13.their homes and families in search of a better life and education.
:05:13. > :05:18.They are making dangerous journeys to cross the border into South
:05:18. > :05:22.Africa, where they hope they'll be able to go to school. This is
:05:22. > :05:26.Justin. He's crossed the bofrder from Zimbabwe. He has to -- border
:05:26. > :05:36.from Zimbabwe. He has to find water from drains to stay alive. He's
:05:36. > :05:48.
:05:48. > :05:52.here because he left home in search Justin is not alone. All of the
:05:52. > :05:55.children are here for the same reason. They come if Zimbabwe,
:05:55. > :06:00.which used to be one of the richest countries in Africa. Over the last
:06:00. > :06:04.ten years things have got a lot worse. For many, there isn't enough
:06:04. > :06:07.food, education or work. Lots of people are in constant need and
:06:07. > :06:10.they blame the Government for running the country badly. The
:06:10. > :06:14.children, who escaped Zimbabwe, are desperate to go to school, because
:06:14. > :06:18.they have nothing and they know an education will get them work. Those
:06:18. > :06:23.who cross the border here have to make the same dangerous journey,
:06:23. > :06:26.breaking through this fence. Before they get this far, they have to
:06:26. > :06:29.cross rivers and they have crocodiles and they have to look
:06:29. > :06:35.out for armed robbers. They hope when they arrive in South Africa
:06:35. > :06:38.they'll get the help they need. Some children do get lucky and are
:06:38. > :06:42.supported by charities and given shelter and enrolled into schools.
:06:42. > :06:49.Moses was beaten up on his journey, but he's now safe and getting the
:06:49. > :06:53.education he hoped for. Here in South Africa now I have basic
:06:53. > :06:57.education. Compared to Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe lots of schools have
:06:57. > :07:00.closed and the Government has made many other schools expensive to go
:07:01. > :07:09.to. Until things improve, children like Justin will keep risking their
:07:09. > :07:15.lives for an education. Before we go, we have good news. If you think
:07:15. > :07:19.you can match the boys on the footy pitch. The rules have changed.
:07:19. > :07:24.After a campaign we told you about, the Government today said it will
