:00:32. > :00:35.This week one school forced lots of students to go home

:00:36. > :00:37.because they weren't wearing the right uniform.

:00:38. > :00:45.Whether it's a shirt, blazer or tie -

:00:46. > :00:50.school uniform is part of everyday life.

:00:51. > :00:53.But this school in Margate in the south-east of England has

:00:54. > :00:57.been turning children away for not wearing the right clothes.

:00:58. > :01:01.They're not plain black leather shoes, they've got colour on them,

:01:02. > :01:10.More than 50 have been sent home from Hartsdown Academy, for not

:01:11. > :01:12.sticking to the school's dress code, including Kimberley.

:01:13. > :01:15.I was really angry because I came in on Tuesday

:01:16. > :01:17.and was ready for school, in full uniform.

:01:18. > :01:20.But she was wearing black suede shoes -

:01:21. > :01:25.I then got given a letter and just got sent home.

:01:26. > :01:28.So what is on the school's check list?

:01:29. > :01:31.When it comes to shoes, no trainers and no canvas shoes.

:01:32. > :01:36.No skinny trousers or leggings - they have to be

:01:37. > :01:41.The new rules have angered some parents, but the head teacher

:01:42. > :01:45.says uniforms improve behaviour and grades.

:01:46. > :01:47.Actually, taking a stand where we say, we care

:01:48. > :01:51.about you so much that even uniform, even these things matter because

:01:52. > :01:55.we think you matter, ensures that children believe in themselves

:01:56. > :02:01.There are now reports of other schools who've been turning

:02:02. > :02:04.away their students because of their uniform -

:02:05. > :02:06.including in north Wales and Gateshead in the

:03:03. > :03:08.Today there's 38 medals up for grabs, and in that stadium behind

:03:09. > :03:13.me, the velodrome, Dame Sarah Storey has just set a new world record in

:03:14. > :03:20.qualifying, taking half a second off her own record. She's on her way to

:03:21. > :03:24.winning a 12th Paralympic gold in the C five pursuit final tonight but

:03:25. > :03:29.that's not the only world record being said here. Megan Julia, who is

:03:30. > :03:34.favourite to take a gold medal at these games, knocked three seconds

:03:35. > :03:41.off her time today to make it to the grand final, and there is more news

:03:42. > :03:50.for Paralympics GB as Bethany Firth won her race in the S 14 freestyle.

:03:51. > :03:54.Ollie Hynd also qualified in the men's 400 meter freestyle, the

:03:55. > :04:00.European and world champion so hopefully he can go all the way to
