:00:27. > :00:30.At its widest, Irma stretched a huge 400 miles across -

:00:31. > :00:33.that's as wide as Germany - while the eye of the storm

:00:34. > :00:38.At its strongest, Irma hit windspeeds of up

:00:39. > :00:44.Only one hurricane, Allen in 1980, has been stronger.

:00:45. > :00:47.And Irma's gone into the record books as the longest lasting

:00:48. > :00:53.It clocked 33 hours in a row at top wind speeds.

:00:54. > :00:59.Well, the storm first made landfall on the tiny island of Barbuda

:01:00. > :01:03.From there it's moved north and west and has now reached Cuba.

:01:04. > :01:06.Experts think it will hit Florida in the US as soon

:01:07. > :01:12.Storms aren't unusual in the Caribbean but usually they're

:01:13. > :01:19.Towns have been flooded, and lots of buildings have been

:01:20. > :01:24.In many of these places people have lost power,

:01:25. > :01:27.they can't use mobile phones, and there are shortages

:01:28. > :01:35.BBC reporter Paul Blake sent us this from Puerto Rico.

:01:36. > :01:39.Hurricane Irma's become the most powerful storm to hit this part of

:01:40. > :01:43.the world in a decade. You can see the lasting winds and rains as it

:01:44. > :01:47.passes by here in break. As the storm passes and in the coming days

:01:48. > :01:53.-- here in Puerto Rico. Lots of countries have promised

:01:54. > :01:56.to help the people affected by Irma. The UK has promised millions

:01:57. > :01:58.of pounds to help rebuild on the islands, and a military

:01:59. > :02:01.flight with doctors and supplies The Royal Navy has already

:02:02. > :02:07.delivered 6 tonnes of help. Well after Cuba, Irma is set to hit

:02:08. > :02:12.the southern US state of Florida. People there have been stocking up

:02:13. > :02:16.on food and drink and emergency services are getting things ready

:02:17. > :02:20.for the storm's arrival. And here at Newsround we'll keep

:02:21. > :02:23.you updated all weekend. And if you want to know more

:02:24. > :02:34.about Hurricane Irma, Now most of you are back

:02:35. > :02:37.in school and while that Especially if you're

:02:38. > :02:42.worried about bullying. We met up with one boy,

:02:43. > :02:44.who's experienced both sides of school and is looking forward

:02:45. > :02:53.to the year ahead. I'm Alex, I'm 11, I enjoy acting,

:02:54. > :02:57.playing music, tennis and rugby. And playing with my doing. I'm really

:02:58. > :03:04.looking forward to going back to school. I cannot wait.

:03:05. > :03:14.Unfortunately, a few years ago, I was bullied and I was called very

:03:15. > :03:19.rude names. And rumours were being spread about me. This made me feel

:03:20. > :03:24.really sad and worried about what was going to happen the next day.

:03:25. > :03:32.Then I was so fed up with what was happening, I decided to enter a

:03:33. > :03:40.competition where I would write a letter to the bully telling them how

:03:41. > :03:46.I felt. I won first prize. After I wrote the letter, I felt like I'd

:03:47. > :03:50.got something off my chest. Because I hadn't spoken completely outright

:03:51. > :03:56.about how I felt beforehand. Now I feel that I've come out as a much

:03:57. > :04:03.more confident person and the issues I've had have helped shape my

:04:04. > :04:06.independence and now that I'm an anti-bullying ambassador, I can help

:04:07. > :04:11.people. If someone thinks someone is being mean to them, I would know how

:04:12. > :04:17.they feel. Remember to tell someone you trust

:04:18. > :04:21.about what is going on. It really helps that someone else knows.

:04:22. > :04:30.Remember that it's not your fault that someone's being mean to you.

:04:31. > :04:36.This year I'm looking forward to our school play and our school

:04:37. > :04:42.competitions. They're really crazy and really fun every year.

:04:43. > :04:44.Thanks for sharing your story, Alexander.

:04:45. > :04:46.And if bullying is something you are worried about,

:04:47. > :04:49.remember to talk to an adult and there's loads of advice online.

:04:50. > :04:51.That's all from me, Newsround's back at 8.30 tomorrow!

:04:52. > :05:07.Woody? What? All the kids are going back to school soon. Good.

:05:08. > :05:15.Hey, but seriously, what are we going to do
