0:00:12 > 0:00:15And find out why Ed Sheeran is being taken to court
0:00:15 > 0:00:17in the United States.
0:00:25 > 0:00:28Former tennis world number one Maria Sharapova has been banned
0:00:28 > 0:00:30from playing in any major tennis competitions for two years
0:00:32 > 0:00:36because she used a drug that was banned for sports stars.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39I've been looking into this story and finding out what it means
0:00:39 > 0:00:43for the tennis star.
0:00:44 > 0:00:47She is a five-time Grand Slam champion and one of the most
0:00:47 > 0:00:49famous female tennis stars of her generation, but in January,
0:00:49 > 0:00:52she failed a drugs test at the Australian Open.
0:00:52 > 0:00:56Some athletes take drugs to help them do better in their sport,
0:00:56 > 0:00:59but authorities have banned many of these because people
0:00:59 > 0:01:01think it's cheating.
0:01:01 > 0:01:05Athletes are tested regularly and if they are caught
0:01:05 > 0:01:07using any of the banned drugs then they can be stopped
0:01:07 > 0:01:10from playing in competitions.
0:01:10 > 0:01:13In January, the rules changed and the medicine that
0:01:13 > 0:01:16Maria Sharapova had been taking for ten years was added to a list
0:01:16 > 0:01:20of drugs that sports stars were not allowed to take anymore.
0:01:20 > 0:01:24Sharapova says she didn't know this and she also didn't tell anyone
0:01:24 > 0:01:27she was using the drug because she says she knew it
0:01:27 > 0:01:30under a different name.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Even though she says she broke the rules unintentionally,
0:01:33 > 0:01:37Maria still apologised.
0:01:37 > 0:01:43I did fail the test and I take full possibility for it.
0:01:43 > 0:01:46Sharapova is now 29 which means she will be 31 when her
0:01:46 > 0:01:47ban is lifted.
0:01:47 > 0:01:51So how will this ban affect her sporting career?
0:01:51 > 0:01:54Having not played any competitive tennis for two years,
0:01:54 > 0:01:57it would be very hard for her to try and find the level again
0:01:57 > 0:02:00that she would need to beat the other very best
0:02:00 > 0:02:03players in the world.
0:02:03 > 0:02:05Maria Sharapova says she will appeal the court's decision
0:02:05 > 0:02:07as she believes her ban is unfair.
0:02:07 > 0:02:10But for now, the next time we see the Olympic medallist could be

0:02:43 > 0:02:44pop star Ed Sheeran.

0:02:47 > 0:02:52guy Matt Cardle who won the X-Factor in 2010.
0:02:52 > 0:02:58However, Ed is in a little bit of trouble because the people
0:02:58 > 0:03:00who wrote Matt Cardle's song say he copied their music
