:00:00. > :00:07.Hello, Newsrounders! I'm Martin live on CBBC this Saturday

:00:08. > :00:17.afternoon. We've got loads on the way for you.

:00:18. > :00:20.And, we'll tell you what one of Team GB's most daredevil stars is turning

:00:21. > :00:26.her hand to next. This is Newsround.

:00:27. > :00:29.First, rescue workers are struggling to reach the remote areas of the

:00:30. > :00:33.Philippines worst affected by Typhoon Haiyan. The storm that hit

:00:34. > :00:38.the south east Asian country yesterday is thought to be one of

:00:39. > :00:43.the most powerful ever recorded So far, we know that more than 120

:00:44. > :00:47.people have died, but one aid agency is reporting the number could be way

:00:48. > :00:52.higher than that. This was one of the most intense

:00:53. > :00:55.typhoons to ever hit land. It tore across the Philippines, a group of

:00:56. > :00:59.islands in the Pacific Ocean, causing devastating damage. The

:01:00. > :01:03.storm did not affect the capital Manila, but smashed its way through

:01:04. > :01:05.islands in the south east of the country. The storm triggered

:01:06. > :01:08.landslides and floods, powerful winds flattened houses and cut off

:01:09. > :01:12.electricity supplies and phone lines. Local airports and roads have

:01:13. > :01:24.been damaged, so only military flights can bring supplies to the

:01:25. > :01:29.more remote areas. We have seen the aid operation begin to get what

:01:30. > :01:34.under way. Two large cargo planes taking aid to one of the worst

:01:35. > :01:41.affected areas, and in particular to the coastal town of Tacloban where

:01:42. > :01:46.whole streets have been wiped out and buildings flattened. Thousands

:01:47. > :01:50.of people had left their homes to seek shelter before the storm, but

:01:51. > :01:52.not everyone did. Despite huge evacuation efforts, a number of

:01:53. > :01:57.people have been killed. Although the storm has moved on, people are

:01:58. > :01:59.now left to take in the destruction and start the massive clean-up

:02:00. > :02:03.operation. On Sibbu island, this villager says she didn't think the

:02:04. > :02:08.winds would be strong enough to destroy her house, but the roof has

:02:09. > :02:14.been ripped off and she says she doesn't know what to do. Some of the

:02:15. > :02:17.areas affected were already struggling after an earthquake last

:02:18. > :02:20.month which left hundreds dead and thousands living in temporary

:02:21. > :02:24.accommodation. Thousands more have now lost their homes. Typhoon Haiyan

:02:25. > :02:27.is now making its way across the South China Sea, heading towards

:02:28. > :02:30.Vietnam, and is expected to hit the country tomorrow.

:02:31. > :02:33.You can see loads more on the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan in the

:02:34. > :02:40.Philippines on the Newsround website.

:02:41. > :02:45.Next, some big news which could affect how you watch football on TV.

:02:46. > :02:49.BT Sport has won exclusive rights to show live Champions League and

:02:50. > :02:56.Europa League football. It's paying about ?900 million over three years.

:02:57. > :03:03.It means that from 2015 games will no longer be shown live on ITV or

:03:04. > :03:07.Sky Sports. From football to the Rugby World

:03:08. > :03:10.Cup. It's a massive day for Rugby League fans because this afternoon

:03:11. > :03:15.there are two big matches. England take on Fiji. It should be an

:03:16. > :03:19.exciting game because a win for England will see them through to the

:03:20. > :03:22.quarter finals. The Republic of Ireland haven't had the best of

:03:23. > :03:27.starts to their campaign, and it's not set to be an easy game for them

:03:28. > :03:32.today. They take on Australia to keep their qualifying hopes alive.

:03:33. > :03:36.Scotland play Tsonga tomorrow. From racing down an ice slope on

:03:37. > :03:41.something like a tea tray, to raging through the forest in a rally car,

:03:42. > :03:45.Amy Williams is what you might call an adrenaline junkie. In 2010 she

:03:46. > :03:48.was Team GB's only medallist at the Winter Olympic Games, but now she's

:03:49. > :04:01.turning her attention to success behind the wheel. Leah's been to

:04:02. > :04:08.meet her. Rally car diving is when there is to

:04:09. > :04:14.view in the car. You have got the driver and navigator, and you go

:04:15. > :04:20.through different stages of a course. He might have a road

:04:21. > :04:25.section, and then you go into a forest. It is all about getting

:04:26. > :04:30.through those sections as fast as possible. How did you make the jump

:04:31. > :04:35.into rally car racing? At the Olympics I got to 92 mph. Through

:04:36. > :04:39.all that speed, the quick decision-making, I have been lucky

:04:40. > :04:45.that I could transfer that into rally in. When I am in the car, the

:04:46. > :04:48.speed doesn't worry me, the quick decision-making, the

:04:49. > :04:54.forward-thinking. I've got a feeling you are an adrenaline junkie. I am,

:04:55. > :04:58.I guess. I did skeleton for ten years, and that gave me a definite

:04:59. > :05:04.thrill. It became normal to be going 80 mph. I have something within me,

:05:05. > :05:10.I guess, that is always searching for challenges. Looking ahead to

:05:11. > :05:15.Sochi, in terms of Team GB, what are your thoughts? We have got a lot of

:05:16. > :05:21.potential athletes. We have got James would who is world ranked

:05:22. > :05:26.number one. I think if everything goes well and everyone has their

:05:27. > :05:29.dream day, we could bring home up to five different metals. I would be a

:05:30. > :05:32.real achievement. Next, have you noticed the date

:05:33. > :05:37.It's ninth November 2013. That's pretty special because it's the last

:05:38. > :05:42.time this century that the date will be made up of three consecutive odd

:05:43. > :05:46.numbers in a row. Nine - 11 - 1 . A sequence like that won't be repeated

:05:47. > :05:51.until the first March 2105, when the date will be one - three - five

:05:52. > :05:53.That's all we've got time for on Newsround today. Check out the

:05:54. > :06:12.Newsround website for all the best The United Kingdom,

:06:13. > :06:14.land of hope and glory. And who better to entrust with

:06:15. > :06:19.the nation's heritage than... Today the boys will compete to give

:06:20. > :06:23.some unsuspecting tourists
