:00:00. > :00:00.when we have Luis Suarez. Make sure you are their!

:00:00. > :00:09.It's Friday 10th January and you're watching Newsround with me, Ayshah.

:00:10. > :00:14.On the way this morning: Jessie J talks to Newsround about Brit

:00:15. > :00:15.nominations and best friends. And we check out some very lucky

:00:16. > :00:34.runners. This is Newsround! At the beginning of January 2014,

:00:35. > :00:38.people from the Eastern European countries Bulgaria and Romania

:00:39. > :00:40.gained the right to work in the UK with no restrictions. When both

:00:41. > :00:44.countries joined the European Union in 2007, controls were placed on the

:00:45. > :00:48.number of people who could seek jobs in other EU countries. But there's

:00:49. > :00:51.been a lot of public concern about immigration in the UK and some

:00:52. > :00:54.people are worried that extra people will have an impact on jobs, housing

:00:55. > :01:08.and schools. I've been looking into it.

:01:09. > :01:13.Here at this school in Boston in Lincolnshire, on the East of

:01:14. > :01:18.England, 65% of kids don't have English as their first language.

:01:19. > :01:21.Most people in the UK want less immigration. A recent survey found

:01:22. > :01:26.nearly eight out of ten people want a cut to the number of people coming

:01:27. > :01:31.in. Some are worried about the pressure on housing, jobs and

:01:32. > :01:36.schools. The if we have a number of children who require places, we

:01:37. > :01:40.would love to give them a place, but we are pretty much full. One in ten

:01:41. > :01:44.people in this town from Eastern Europe. In 2004 people from

:01:45. > :01:49.countries like Poland, this eyes-macro Lithuania and Latvia made

:01:50. > :01:53.Boston their home. After the EU, which groups together 28 countries,

:01:54. > :02:03.including the UK, said they could live wherever they wanted. What has

:02:04. > :02:06.it been like for these children? It is difficult. A lot of English

:02:07. > :02:10.children were coming up to me and saying things in English and I

:02:11. > :02:16.didn't understand them. I'd just like walked away because I didn't

:02:17. > :02:23.get what was said. I didn't understand any words in English. I'm

:02:24. > :02:27.getting better at English so I will get friends. And now Romanians and

:02:28. > :02:31.Bulgarians have the same right to live and work in the UK with no

:02:32. > :02:34.restrictions. This girl is Romanian but she has been here since she was

:02:35. > :02:41.five years old. What are some of the negative stereotypes? That we are

:02:42. > :02:45.all poor people who want to take away everything the British have,

:02:46. > :02:52.like jobs. How does that make you feel? I don't like it because they

:02:53. > :02:56.should not make assumptions. We don't know how many Romanians and

:02:57. > :03:00.Bulgarians will come to the UK and here in Boston, as well as in the

:03:01. > :03:15.rest of the country, they will have to wait and see their town will

:03:16. > :03:18.change again. Three quarters of the world's large

:03:19. > :03:21.carnivores - the likes of lions, wolves and bears - are in massive

:03:22. > :03:25.decline, according to a new study. Scientists studied 31 big meat

:03:26. > :03:28.eaters and found numbers are most at risk in the Amazon, South East Asia,

:03:29. > :03:31.southern and east Africa. They say the decline is due to the animals

:03:32. > :03:35.losing their habitat, being hunted by humans and not being able to find

:03:36. > :03:38.enough food. Now the scientists are calling for a worldwide programme to

:03:39. > :03:42.help protect the animals affected. Next, lots of excitement in the

:03:43. > :03:45.world of pop last night as the stars nominated for a Brit Award were

:03:46. > :03:49.announced by Radio One's Nick Grimshaw at a party in London. Pop

:03:50. > :03:51.acts Disclosure and Bastille are in front with four nominations each,

:03:52. > :03:55.closely followed by Ellie Goulding and dance act Rudimental with three.

:03:56. > :03:57.There are two nominations for One Direction - Best British Group and

:03:58. > :04:01.Best British Single. Jessie J is nominated for a fourth

:04:02. > :04:04.year in a row, this time for Best British Female, where she's up

:04:05. > :04:06.against her best mate Ellie Goulding. Martin was at the

:04:07. > :04:10.nominations party in London, and caught up Jessie J herself.

:04:11. > :04:13.One of my best friends is in the category of Best female. She has had

:04:14. > :04:18.the best year this year. She is amazing. I am so proud of her. I

:04:19. > :04:21.know she is a bit behind me on the red carpet. I think she is going to

:04:22. > :04:25.win something. Martin will be here at 8.15 with

:04:26. > :04:28.more gossip from the nominations party. And head to the Newsround

:04:29. > :04:31.website to see him chatting to the big stars like Ellie Goulding and a

:04:32. > :04:35.very excited Rudimental. You can also see a list of all the nominees

:04:36. > :04:39.there, too. Now, we all want to be lucky. Do you

:04:40. > :04:43.cross your fingers? Or have a lucky number? In Japan, luck goes to the

:04:44. > :04:46.man who runs the fastest. Around 5,000 men dashed through a shrine

:04:47. > :04:51.hoping to win good luck for the year ahead. The winner was 19-year-old

:04:52. > :04:55.runner Seiki Kyoda. He looks pretty pleased with himself!

:04:56. > :04:58.That's all from us for now, but I'll be back at 8.15 with your next

:04:59. > :04:59.update. See you all in a bit. Bye!
