:00:00. > :00:09.Hello, I'm Martin, with your Friday afternoon Newsround. Coming up: Find

:00:10. > :00:17.out why Jessica Ennis-Hill will be missing the Commonwealth Games.

:00:18. > :00:26.And we meet the pop star set to be massive in 2014.

:00:27. > :00:29.She was one of the stars of the London Olympics, but we won't see

:00:30. > :00:32.gold winning heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill in this summer's

:00:33. > :00:37.Commonwealth Games. She's had to pull out, because she's having a

:00:38. > :00:40.baby. Jess said her pregnancy is "unexpected and exciting", but

:00:41. > :00:43.she'll be back to "go for a second gold at the Rio Olympics."

:00:44. > :00:48.Jessica became the face of London 2012, winning gold in the

:00:49. > :00:52.heptathlon. And fans were banking on her to win gold at the Commonwealth

:00:53. > :00:54.Games too. Now the pressure is on for Britain's Katarina

:00:55. > :00:59.Johnson-Thompson to fill Jess's running shoes, and go for glory in

:01:00. > :01:02.Glasgow. Next - immigration. It's a subject

:01:03. > :01:05.that divides opinion, with most people now wanting changes to the

:01:06. > :01:09.rules for letting new people into the country. Immigration, especially

:01:10. > :01:14.from Romania and Bulgaria, is big news right now. At the start of the

:01:15. > :01:17.year, people from those Eastern European countries gained the right

:01:18. > :01:35.to work in the UK with no restrictions. Ayshah's been looking

:01:36. > :01:39.into it. Here at this school in Boston in

:01:40. > :01:43.Lincolnshire in East England, 65% of kids don't have English as their

:01:44. > :01:48.first language. Most people in the UK want less immigration. A recent

:01:49. > :01:53.survey found that nearly eight out of ten people want a cut in the

:01:54. > :01:58.numbers coming in. Some are worried about pressure on housing, jobs and

:01:59. > :02:01.schools. If we have a number of children who require places who come

:02:02. > :02:06.from Romania and Bulgaria, we would love to give them a place, but we

:02:07. > :02:12.are full. One person in every ten in this town is from Eastern Europe. In

:02:13. > :02:16.2004, people from countries like Poland, Lithuania and Latvia made

:02:17. > :02:20.Boston their home. After the European Union, which groups

:02:21. > :02:23.together 28 countries including the UK, said they could live wherever

:02:24. > :02:29.they wanted to. These children came over a few years ago. It has it been

:02:30. > :02:34.like for them? Kind of difficult, because a lot of English children

:02:35. > :02:37.were coming up to me and saying things in English, and I did not

:02:38. > :02:44.understand them, so I just walked away because I did not get what they

:02:45. > :02:49.said. They came to England and I did not understand any words in

:02:50. > :02:52.English, so I got better in English so I would get friends. Now

:02:53. > :02:58.Romanians and Bulgarians have the same right to live and work in the

:02:59. > :03:02.UK with no restrictions. This Romanian girl has been living here

:03:03. > :03:05.since she was five years old. What are some of the negative stereotypes

:03:06. > :03:10.you have heard about Romanians? Just that they are all poor people who

:03:11. > :03:13.want to take away everything the British have, like their jobs and

:03:14. > :03:18.their way of living. How does that make you feel? I don't like it,

:03:19. > :03:22.because they should not make assumptions before they get to know

:03:23. > :03:25.the Romanian people. We don't know how many Romanians and Bulgarians

:03:26. > :03:29.will come to the UK. Here in Boston, as well as the rest of the country,

:03:30. > :03:32.they will have to wait and see if their town will change again.

:03:33. > :03:35.Now - here's a Newsround quiz. What have these pop superstars got in

:03:36. > :03:39.common? Adele, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J? Well, before they hit mega

:03:40. > :03:43.stardom, they all won the BBC's Sound of the Year Award, which has

:03:44. > :03:48.helped launch the careers of some of the most successful British artists.

:03:49. > :03:52.Now it's the turn of this guy, Sam Smith. You might not have heard of

:03:53. > :04:03.in 2014. Let's have a listen. in 2014. Let's have a listen.

:04:04. > :04:06.# Lay me by your side. Sam has already worked with other artists

:04:07. > :04:18.like Naughty Boy and Disclosure, but he wants to be a success in his own

:04:19. > :04:22.right too. 2014 has been written for me already, I guess. I have got the

:04:23. > :04:25.Brits to look forward to and my album, and it is going to be

:04:26. > :04:29.incredible. My mum is calling up every day, making sure my head is

:04:30. > :04:34.still screwed on. I just want to have as much fun as I can and work

:04:35. > :04:39.really hard, because I have big dreams and aspirations. I just want

:04:40. > :04:41.to smash it. But I also want to enjoy it.

:04:42. > :04:44.And if you love music, head to the Newsround website for my interview

:04:45. > :04:48.with Jessie J from the Brit Awards nominations party. I chat to her

:04:49. > :04:51.best mate, Ellie Goulding, too. And you can also see a full list of all

:04:52. > :04:55.the nominations. Also on the website - how cool is

:04:56. > :04:58.this - a driverless car that even parks itself! Check it out, I'm back

:04:59. > :05:01.at 6.50. Have a great afternoon. Bye!
