:01:06. > :01:07.Next to Australia, where scientists say two thirds

:01:08. > :01:09.of the Great Barrier Reef has now been devastated by

:01:10. > :01:16.A new survey of the reef shows that the latest damage is mainly

:01:17. > :01:19.in the middle section - and last year, the northern

:01:20. > :01:22.Bleaching happens when coral loses the algae that lives

:01:23. > :01:26.on it, and is caused by rising water temperatures.

:01:27. > :01:29.From the reef to the rainforest, where orangutans live.

:01:30. > :01:31.But they're facing a big threat from something called palm oil.

:01:32. > :01:37.Orangutans are found in Indonesia and Malaysia, but they are

:01:38. > :01:38.critically endangered, which means the numbers

:01:39. > :01:42.of them left in the wild have massively decreased.

:01:43. > :01:44.Carla has studied them for years now, and has

:01:45. > :01:48.They're basically my hairy relatives.

:01:49. > :01:51.They're just so beautiful, so smart and so incredible,

:01:52. > :02:01.So, what are some of the threats to orangutans?

:02:02. > :02:04.The major threats are deforestation and habitat loss.

:02:05. > :02:07.So, one of the problems is that the forest is cut down for

:02:08. > :02:09.things like oil palm, or palm oil plantations.

:02:10. > :02:12.That takes away the home for the orangutans and for

:02:13. > :02:16.There's a very great risk of them going

:02:17. > :02:18.extinct, maybe within the next ten years.

:02:19. > :02:21.So we're all very worried about that.

:02:22. > :02:30.It's a type of, well, oil, that we get from the fruit that

:02:31. > :02:35.It's used in lots, like up to half the things you find at

:02:36. > :02:40.the supermarket, from food to cleaning products.

:02:41. > :02:42.It's a massive business, worth billions of pounds.

:02:43. > :02:45.But many animals, like orangutans, pay the price.

:02:46. > :02:48.While some companies have agreed to stop clearing

:02:49. > :02:50.rainforests and produce palm oil safely, some conservationists say

:02:51. > :02:55.it's still a problem because the palm oil

:02:56. > :02:57.industry is now moving into other countries, where other

:02:58. > :03:02.They're unhappy about the way palm oil products are

:03:03. > :03:08.labelled, because it's sometimes unclear whether or not the palm oil

:03:09. > :03:11.has been produced in a way that's damaging to the environment or not.

:03:12. > :03:13.But with the huge demand for palm oil, farmers,

:03:14. > :03:16.companies and conservationists will have to work together to have a

:03:27. > :03:28.At this time of year, you don't have to look too

:03:29. > :03:31.far in the countryside to see spring lambs.

:03:32. > :03:34.But while most sheep give birth to just one or two,

:03:35. > :03:39.at one farm in East Yorkshire things are going a bit differently.

:03:40. > :03:54.Sheep normally give birth to just one or two lambs,

:03:55. > :03:57.so shepherds here estimate it's a one in a million chance that this

:03:58. > :04:02.A scan revealed mum was first carrying just four,

:04:03. > :04:16.The lass that does nights was telling me about

:04:17. > :04:19.She said, the ewe with four's lambed.

:04:20. > :04:21.When I came with Debbieinto the shed, the fifth lamb

:04:22. > :04:25.They are now fed with supplements that are similar to baby formula.

:04:26. > :04:33.Which means she would normally only have two lambs.

:04:34. > :04:36.When she has five, she can't produce enough milk and have enough teats

:04:37. > :04:44.It just makes it that bit more difficult for her to do.

:04:45. > :04:47.As for mum, well, she's having a few Easter treats herself now
