:00:17. > :00:20.Hi there, Ore and Hayley here for your Wednesday afternoon helping of

:00:20. > :00:25.Newsround. On the way, we meet the broomstick brigade on Mission

:00:25. > :00:31.Clean-Up after the riots across parts of England. And the Blade-

:00:31. > :00:34.runner's Olympic dream moves one step closer.

:00:34. > :00:37.But we start with the story we've been leading with all week. The

:00:37. > :00:40.violence and looting which has been causing chaos in some parts of

:00:40. > :00:44.England for four nights now. Today, Prime Minister David Cameron said a

:00:44. > :00:47.fightback is under way. He said he's going to do everything in his

:00:47. > :00:49.power to restore law and order and bring the people involved to

:00:49. > :00:55.justice. The trouble began in London but now it has spread

:00:55. > :00:59.elsewhere. As darkness fell, once again groups

:00:59. > :01:02.of young people took to the streets. Not London this time though. Last

:01:02. > :01:07.night, with thousands more police on the streets, the capital was

:01:07. > :01:10.pretty quiet. But the trouble spread elsewhere. In Manchester,

:01:10. > :01:20.these people ran through the city centre for hours, smashing windows,

:01:20. > :01:20.

:01:20. > :01:26.starting fires and looting shops. My message is extremely simple.

:01:26. > :01:31.Hundreds and hundreds of people, we have your image, we have your face,

:01:31. > :01:37.we have your acts of wanton criminality on film. We are coming

:01:37. > :01:40.for you from today. There was also violence in parts of Liverpool,

:01:40. > :01:45.Nottingham, West Bromwich and other places too. In Birmingham, three

:01:45. > :01:48.men died after being hit by a car. It's being called copycat violence.

:01:48. > :01:57.It's thought people, some as young as 12 and 13, have seen what's

:01:57. > :02:01.going on and mindlessly decided to copy it. It is people being

:02:01. > :02:07.interested on YouTube, Twitter, and saying, this looks fun, we can have

:02:07. > :02:12.a go at this. They can break into the shop and no one will stop them.

:02:12. > :02:16.There's probably not a lot going on in their minds, except for what can

:02:16. > :02:18.I get to go on the streets with my friends and show off? Prime

:02:18. > :02:21.Minister David Cameron today said police can start using tougher

:02:21. > :02:26.measures to try and stop the trouble. And he gave his view on

:02:26. > :02:30.why all this is happening. It is a complete lack of responsibility in

:02:30. > :02:32.parts of our society. People allowed to feel that the world owes

:02:32. > :02:37.them something. That their rights outweigh their responsibilities.

:02:37. > :02:40.And that their actions do not have consequences. Well, they do have

:02:40. > :02:43.consequences. Hundreds of people have been arrested. And the Prime

:02:43. > :02:46.Minister also said that extra police officers will keep

:02:46. > :02:53.patrolling the streets for as long as necessary to put an end to the

:02:53. > :02:57.The Prime Minister has also said water cannons could potentially be

:02:57. > :03:01.used to break up crowds if needed. They send out really strong jets of

:03:01. > :03:04.water but have never been used before in England. The government

:03:04. > :03:09.says that allowing them now shows how seriously it's taking the

:03:09. > :03:14.situation. Hundreds of you have been getting in touch on the

:03:14. > :03:19.Newsround website to tell us what you think. Natasha, who's nine and

:03:19. > :03:22.from Manchester told us: "I couldn't sleep last night with all

:03:22. > :03:26.the police and I could smell smoke from outside. Today is my birthday

:03:26. > :03:29.and it's not safe to go out so my party has been called off." And

:03:29. > :03:32.Alexandra, who's 13 and from Derbyshire, says: "My sister is a

:03:32. > :03:36.special in the police. She said that it was very scary. I was so

:03:36. > :03:39.worried about her." Thank you for all your comments. It's worth

:03:39. > :03:42.remembering that the trouble's only been happening in certain areas,

:03:42. > :03:45.not everywhere. If there are any problems near you, police advice is

:03:45. > :03:48.to stay at home. And there's advice on our website about what to do if

:03:48. > :03:52.you find the story upsetting. Across the country, volunteers are

:03:52. > :04:00.busy cleaning up the mess caused by vandals. In parts of London, people

:04:00. > :04:06.have taken to the streets, armed with more brooms than Hogwarts.

:04:06. > :04:11.It started as an early call across the internet. By the afternoon,

:04:11. > :04:15.many people turned up in Clapham in London using the latest technology

:04:15. > :04:19.they organised to meet up and clean-up. I liked the fact the

:04:19. > :04:24.community, although it's really bad, it is bringing the community

:04:24. > :04:34.together. But everybody is showing we are going to stick up together.

:04:34. > :04:38.The there is a lot of problems. James was running the show. We have

:04:38. > :04:41.got guys are bringing out and doughnuts and coffee and tea. The

:04:41. > :04:46.shops are letting us use their facilities as well. It started off

:04:46. > :04:51.as a social networks thing. Looters and rioters threw bricks through

:04:51. > :04:55.these shop windows, stealing the contents and then left to the mess

:04:56. > :05:00.behind but now everybody is taking action. They have had enough and

:05:00. > :05:04.want to see their streets back in order for I could stay at home and

:05:04. > :05:10.watch it on the news and do-nothing or I could make something of my day

:05:10. > :05:18.and to help and get involved in community spirits. Children of all

:05:18. > :05:24.ages have been getting stuck in. have been cleaning up because some

:05:24. > :05:26.body messed London upon. Nice one, Grace. Now, England

:05:26. > :05:30.football fans were left disappointed as tonight's match

:05:30. > :05:33.against the Netherlands was called off because of the riots in London.

:05:33. > :05:37.But over in Birmingham, despite the trouble there have been plenty of

:05:37. > :05:44.ecstatic England cricket fans around today. The match went ahead

:05:44. > :05:51.as planned and England bowled India out earlier for just 224. At the

:05:51. > :05:54.moment England have scored one for no wickets. England won the last

:05:54. > :05:58.two Test matches, and if they win again they will be the number one

:05:58. > :06:01.team in the world. The best team in the land, you might say.

:06:01. > :06:03.And we'll stick with sport to finish because this guy, Oscar

:06:03. > :06:08.Pistorius, or the Blade-runner as he's known, is fast becoming one

:06:08. > :06:10.the biggest names in the world of athletics. He's already a

:06:10. > :06:13.Paralympic champion, but he's now qualified for the World Athletics

:06:13. > :06:16.Championships too, competing alongside able-bodied athletes.

:06:16. > :06:22.He's the first amputee to run in the event. And that puts the South

:06:22. > :06:26.African on track for the 2012 London Olympics.

:06:26. > :06:30.It's a dream he's had for years. Taking to the track at the London

:06:30. > :06:33.Olympic Games. And when Oscar Pistorius lines up for the 400

:06:33. > :06:37.metres at the World Championships later this month, he'll come a step

:06:37. > :06:41.closer to turning that dream into reality. Oscar was born missing

:06:41. > :06:45.some bones in his legs. So when he took up running, he was fitted with

:06:45. > :06:50.carbon fibre prosthetic blades. Some say they give him an advantage

:06:50. > :07:00.over able-bodied athletes. But Oscar reckons his speed is all down

:07:00. > :07:03.to intensive training. I put in more hours, and overall, I think I

:07:03. > :07:07.am a more diligent. No one denies it's incredible for a disabled

:07:07. > :07:14.athlete to get this far, but not everyone think it's fair. It sets

:07:14. > :07:18.an amazing achievement. There will be questions over whether it's an

:07:18. > :07:20.level playing field between the able bodied and disabled athletes.

:07:20. > :07:24.Able bodied and disabled athletes have competed together in other

:07:24. > :07:27.sports before. But because Oscar has to run on blades, it's been a

:07:27. > :07:34.controversial decision to allow him to run. But many feel he deserves

:07:35. > :07:39.it. He works hard. You can see the determination each time he races. I

:07:39. > :07:43.think he should be given the chance to compete. Oscar has taken tests

:07:43. > :07:48.to prove his blades don't give him the edge. Now the world will be

:07:48. > :07:52.watching to see if he can make it to the London Olympics in 2012.
