0:00:22 > 0:00:23know this Sunday.

0:00:23 > 0:00:23Coming up.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25The cruise ship ban in Venice.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27We find out more about the sporting extravaganza that

0:00:27 > 0:00:28is the British Transplant Games.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31First, high winds and flash floods are expected today as the remains

0:00:31 > 0:00:32of Hurricane Bertha hit Britain.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35These pictures show the chaos she caused in the Caribbean last week.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38Bertha has weakened since then, but volunteers from The Red Cross

0:00:38 > 0:00:41are on standby here in the UK, in case homes need to be evacuated.

0:00:41 > 0:00:46BBC Weather's Chris Fawkes has more.

0:00:46 > 0:00:47Hi, newsround.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50Last week, over 4000 miles away across the other side of the

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Atlantic Ocean, Hurricane Bertha formed just to the east of Florida,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54the United States of America.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56Since then, it has been moving quickly across the Atlantic but

0:00:56 > 0:00:58you don't need to worry too much.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00It is not a hurricane any more.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03The area of moisture that has been left over from what was left

0:01:03 > 0:01:06of Bertha is pouring in an area of low pressure that will bring us

0:01:06 > 0:01:07a wet and windy day.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09For most of us it won't be too problematic.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11However, the wind will be pretty heavy at

0:01:11 > 0:01:15times and that could lead to puddles out on the roads and we could have

0:01:15 > 0:01:18a little bit of surface water flooding, but other areas will just

0:01:18 > 0:01:20see not so much in the way of rain.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22Overnight tonight, the strongest winds will move to

0:01:22 > 0:01:24the south coast of England to northern England and eventually

0:01:24 > 0:01:27reaching the eastern areas of Scotland, so it'll be a windy start

0:01:27 > 0:01:30to the day across parts of the north-east as we head into Monday.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Elsewhere, further south, a day of sunshine and showers,

0:01:32 > 0:01:36so the remnants of Hurricane Bertha are affecting our weather today

0:01:36 > 0:01:39but for most of us we don't need to be too concerned.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43There will just be some big puddles and some windy weather as well.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46And you've been in touch to tell us what's happening

0:01:46 > 0:01:47weather wise where you are:

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Rebecca in Paisley says she's had a lot of rain

0:01:49 > 0:01:56and her nanna's garden is flooding.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11And we want to know if Bertha has been having an effect where you are.

0:02:11 > 0:02:12Are you being blasted by wind and rain?

0:02:12 > 0:02:16Head to the newsround website and let us know.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20Next, to northern Iraq where earlier today British military planes

0:02:20 > 0:02:23dropped aid supplies of tents, water filters and lights to people

0:02:23 > 0:02:25stranded on a mountain there.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28Thousands of non muslims in the north of the country have fled

0:02:28 > 0:02:31to the mountains there where they are stranded because of threats from

0:02:31 > 0:02:35the group previously known as ISIS.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39IS threatened to harm non-muslims in Iraq unless they convert to Islam.

0:02:39 > 0:02:54It's the first airdrop from Britain to reach people stuck there.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56UK officials estimate that between 50,000 and 150,000

0:02:56 > 0:02:57people could be trapped.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59To Sport now - you'll have heard of the

0:02:59 > 0:03:01Olympic Games, and the Commonwealth Games, but have you ever heard

0:03:01 > 0:03:03of the British Transplant Games?

0:03:03 > 0:03:06They first took place over 30 years ago and have since gone

0:03:06 > 0:03:08on to become a hugely inspirational and life saving event.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10I went along to the opening day to find out

0:03:10 > 0:03:17why the games are so important.

0:03:21 > 0:03:26This weekend more than 2500 people and 750 athletes have come here to

0:03:26 > 0:03:30Bolton for the British Transplant Games.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33The event takes place every year and the aim is to encourage people

0:03:33 > 0:03:36who have had life-saving transplants to help get their fitness back

0:03:36 > 0:03:42by playing a variety of sports.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45Meet 11-year-old Charlie. She was born with an illness which

0:03:45 > 0:03:51affects the bladder and kidney.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54And two years ago she had to have a kidney transplant, donated from her

0:03:54 > 0:03:57grandfather which saved her life.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01And today she is competing

0:04:01 > 0:04:04people to donate organs.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07Why do you think it is so important that 750 people come

0:04:07 > 0:04:10here to the games?

0:04:10 > 0:04:14It is really important that kids like me come to the games,

0:04:14 > 0:04:18because more people find out more about organ transplant.

0:04:18 > 0:04:27This is the third time I have come to the

0:04:27 > 0:04:30Speaking to Charlie, you can tell the games have been not

0:04:30 > 0:04:34only inspirational, but lots of fun as well.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37It is very much like a mini Olympics.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Nearly a thousand people on the waiting list,

0:04:39 > 0:04:42waiting for transplants.

0:04:42 > 0:04:46Transplant Games is among one of the events which is fantastic to

0:04:46 > 0:04:54raise awareness to the public that transplants are

0:04:54 > 0:04:57The kids here have had a brilliant day, taken part

0:04:57 > 0:05:03in races, making new friends and hopefully even saving some lives.

0:05:08 > 0:05:11It's the Italian city built on water, but from next year,

0:05:11 > 0:05:15large cruise ships will be banned from the centre of Venice.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18At the moment, huge cruise ships can sail just

0:05:18 > 0:05:21hundreds of metres from the historic area of St Mark's Square, but many

0:05:21 > 0:05:23people called for a ban because of worries about pollution, and

0:05:23 > 0:05:27vibrations from the ships affecting the buildings' foundations.

0:05:27 > 0:05:32From next year, only smaller ships will be able to sail there.

0:05:32 > 0:05:36To cricket and amazing test match win for England against India,

0:05:36 > 0:05:38at Old Trafford this weekend.The

0:05:38 > 0:05:41win came just three days in to the available five.

0:05:41 > 0:05:44England bowled India out twice in as many days and scored more runs

0:05:44 > 0:05:47in their one day of batting than India managed in two days.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50It's been a real turnaround for the team who came into some

0:05:50 > 0:05:53criticism earlier in the year.

0:05:53 > 0:05:58That's all from me, Newsround's back at 1.55.
