:00:00. > :00:08.Good morning. This is Newsround. I'm Ricky with all the very latest this
:00:09. > :00:13.Tuesday. In the next five mins. Time to get gnarly as the skiing
:00:14. > :00:16.slopestyle gets going in Sochi. And with Britain's Got Talent returning
:00:17. > :00:23.to our screens, we want your questions for the judges.
:00:24. > :00:27.First this morning, a flooding crisis continues to grip southern
:00:28. > :00:30.England. Hundreds of people have had to leave their homes overnight as
:00:31. > :00:34.record floodwaters keep on rising on the River Thames. There are 16
:00:35. > :00:39.severe flood warnings in place in England, which means there is danger
:00:40. > :00:42.to life, with 14 along the Thames. After a quieter day yesterday, the
:00:43. > :00:48.bad weather is returning, with heavy rain and strong winds battering
:00:49. > :00:51.southern England again this morning. But it's not just the south of
:00:52. > :00:54.England. Britain's longest river, the Severn, is rising in the
:00:55. > :00:57.Midlands. It's caused huge problems in Worcester, where Nel's found that
:00:58. > :01:12.getting to school can be really difficult. I cycle here. It was
:01:13. > :01:17.weird because the roads were closed. Also we had to cycle through the
:01:18. > :01:20.floods so it's pretty weird. All the fields by the bridge where water.
:01:21. > :01:23.You couldn't see any difference between the river and the fields.
:01:24. > :01:27.Smoking in cars with children in the back is likely to be made illegal in
:01:28. > :01:31.England and Wales. Last night, lots of MPs voted to support a ban, which
:01:32. > :01:35.means the Government is now able to make it law. But it's now up to the
:01:36. > :01:39.people in charge to decide whether it should be introduced. But some
:01:40. > :01:42.people say it's a step too far. Next up, the use of mobile phones and the
:01:43. > :01:46.internet is changing how young people are being bullied. The
:01:47. > :01:49.children's charity NSPCC says over a third of kids have been bullied
:01:50. > :01:53.online, and it can be a really upsetting and difficult thing to
:01:54. > :01:56.deal with. In a special Newsround this afternoon, I'll be taking a
:01:57. > :02:04.look at the world of cyberbullying, speaking to young victims and
:02:05. > :02:09.finding out about their experiences. I've got a notification on my phone.
:02:10. > :02:14.I wasn't sure if it was somebody's idea of a sick joke. Everybody has a
:02:15. > :02:19.smartphone. It's always there and you can't get away from it. Don't
:02:20. > :02:24.retaliate because that's what they want. They want to see what set and
:02:25. > :02:28.that they have got to you. And joining me now in the studio is CBBC
:02:29. > :02:33.presenter Shannon Flynn who features in our special programme. You also
:02:34. > :02:38.struggled for some time online? Yes, when I was 12 or 13, I was bullied
:02:39. > :02:43.on various different social networking sites. By people like
:02:44. > :02:46.either new, didn't know, had absolutely no idea where it is
:02:47. > :02:51.coming from and yeah, it was awful. I would come home from school, log
:02:52. > :02:54.on to the websites, and just see endless amounts of abuse and had no
:02:55. > :03:00.idea where it came from. It didn't feel real. Because you are on
:03:01. > :03:03.television, people pick on you may be because they either want to be
:03:04. > :03:07.like youthful sub did you feel like that was the reason you are being
:03:08. > :03:13.bullied online? I think so, because some of them related to my work.
:03:14. > :03:18.Others were just just calling me names, absolutely no reason for it.
:03:19. > :03:22.It was awful. It's such a big part of our lives being online and the
:03:23. > :03:27.mobile phone, it's hard to escape from it if it happens. Yes, it's
:03:28. > :03:31.with you all the time because everybody has their mobile phone
:03:32. > :03:34.with them all the time. Even if you are not at home, locking on to your
:03:35. > :03:39.laptop, it's on your telephone next to you. You can't get away. What
:03:40. > :03:44.tips would you give to somebody who is being bullied online? Make sure
:03:45. > :03:50.you tell somebody because I told my parents what happened to me and I
:03:51. > :03:58.blocked everybody. Thanks very much for sharing your story. Everything
:03:59. > :04:01.is all right now. Yes, it's good. And you can catch Cyberbullying, a
:04:02. > :04:05.Newsround special, this afternoon at 5.25pm right here on CBBC. It will
:04:06. > :04:08.also be on iPlayer too. And head to our website for loads more
:04:09. > :04:11.information on how to stay safe online, with advice and a quiz too.
:04:12. > :04:14.Britain's Got Talent is gearing up for its eighth series. You will
:04:15. > :04:17.remember that last year Attraction won the competition with their
:04:18. > :04:20.impressive and rather unusual shadow theatre performance. Newsround's Nel
:04:21. > :04:23.will get the chance to interview some of the judges this afternoon.
:04:24. > :04:27.So if you've got a question for Simon, David, Alesha or Amanda then
:04:28. > :04:32.head online to our website right now to send them in. Last up, get ready
:04:33. > :04:35.to get gnarly and solid, because it's the qualifying for the skiing
:04:36. > :04:40.slopestyle freestyle at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, with Team GB's
:04:41. > :04:44.Katie Summerhayes taking part. She has a pretty good chance of a medal
:04:45. > :04:48.for Britain. The 19-year-old had a good first run just a few minutes
:04:49. > :04:53.ago. That took her into third place so far. Fingers crossed. That's all
:04:54. > :04:56.from me. Newsround's back right here in about half an hour. We'll have a
:04:57. > :04:58.sneak preview of our Cyberbullying special programme. See you then. Bye
:04:59. > :05:01.bye.
