:00:00. > :00:21.We've got the latest from Brazil ahead of the World Cup.

:00:22. > :00:24.First to the story of the seven-year-old British boy who has

:00:25. > :00:27.escaped the war in Syria after being trapped there for three years.

:00:28. > :00:30.Muadh, from Birmingham, got caught up in the conflict with his mum,

:00:31. > :00:33.and earlier this week they both managed to escape to nearby Jordan

:00:34. > :00:43.For over three years, Syria has been torn apart by fighting.

:00:44. > :00:47.And for half his life, seven-year-old Muadh has been

:00:48. > :00:53.When he was three and a half his Syrian mother left Birmingham

:00:54. > :00:57.to take him to see her family near Deraa, on the border with Jordan.

:00:58. > :01:00.But soon after they arrived the war began, and it became too

:01:01. > :01:04.Muadh's dad, Wael, stayed in the UK and has spoken about how dangerous

:01:05. > :01:17.It's been a terrible ordeal before they managed to leave Syria. They

:01:18. > :01:21.were living under daily bombardment by the regime. They were escaping

:01:22. > :01:24.from one place to another. Over the last month they have been living

:01:25. > :01:28.under the olive trees, because that was the safest place to stay.

:01:29. > :01:31.Earlier this week they reached Jordan, a country where they

:01:32. > :01:34.can feel safe, but they both want to return to the UK.

:01:35. > :01:36.Something his father has been campaigning for.

:01:37. > :01:39.Muadh is British and can come to the UK but it would mean leaving

:01:40. > :01:43.his mum, who is separated from his dad, behind because she

:01:44. > :01:46.isn't British and doesn't have permission to come to Britain.

:01:47. > :01:48.But after all they've been through, leaving Muadh's mum

:01:49. > :01:58.behind is something the family don't want to do.

:01:59. > :02:04.TRANSLATION: It was terrifying, confusing, no safety or stability

:02:05. > :02:08.The British Foreign Office, who help British citizens abroad, say they

:02:09. > :02:11.can't talk about their case but they'll offer help where they can.

:02:12. > :02:13.Right now, the most important thing is that Muadh is safe

:02:14. > :02:22.We finally know the identity of the fourth X Factor judge.

:02:23. > :02:26.Some of you may recognise her and your parents definitely will.

:03:47. > :03:50.four weeks. Tomorrow, all eyes will be on the city of Sao Paulo, where

:03:51. > :03:53.Brazil kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia. But

:03:54. > :03:57.thousands of fans will be packing out this beach to watch this match

:03:58. > :04:00.on special TV screens all along the coastline, despite all the protests

:04:01. > :04:04.that have been happening across Brazil, people angry with how much

:04:05. > :04:09.money is being pumped into the competition. A lot of the Brazilian

:04:10. > :04:12.children I've spoken to say they are just desperate for Neymar and code

:04:13. > :04:31.to make that final, and there is a real sense that the party is just

:04:32. > :04:34.about to kick off. Neighbourhoods are draped in Brazilian flags and

:04:35. > :04:36.decorated in yellow and green. We won't just be talking about the

:04:37. > :04:39.World Cup, we'll be telling you about life for children here in

:04:40. > :04:42.Brazil in South America. We will also be taking a look at the race to
