:00:27. > :00:29.because the man who does the job at the moment, David Cameron,

:00:30. > :00:32.decided to give it up after the result of that big vote

:00:33. > :00:35.we had about whether we should stay in the European Union or not.

:00:36. > :00:37.His replacement had to come from the Conservative Party,

:00:38. > :00:40.because they won the general election where we chose

:00:41. > :00:46.At first, there were five people who had a chance to get the job.

:00:47. > :00:58.One of those was called Andrea Leadsom, and she made some

:00:59. > :01:00.comments suggesting she would be best because she's a mum.

:01:01. > :01:02.Now, some people were pretty upset about that.

:01:03. > :01:04.There was a huge row and today she dropped out.

:01:05. > :01:07.So we are left with just one candidate left.

:01:08. > :01:11.She still needs to go and see the Queen, there are still some bits

:01:12. > :01:16.But it looks all but certain that we're going to have our second

:01:17. > :01:20.of female Prime Minister after Margaret Thatcher,

:01:21. > :01:24.another Conservative years and years ago.

:01:25. > :01:26.And we've got some breaking news on this.

:01:27. > :01:28.The British Prime Minister David Cameron has just said the country

:01:29. > :01:30.will have a new Prime Minister by Wednesday.

:01:31. > :01:34.Mr Cameron said in a speech outside ten Downing Street that he'll hand

:01:35. > :01:37.in his resignation on the day, and Theresa May will then take over

:01:38. > :01:47.Next to America where the way black people are treated by the police

:01:48. > :01:55.I've been looking into what's been going on.

:01:56. > :02:01.From Baton Rouge in Louisiana, to St Paul in Minnesota and Dallas

:02:02. > :02:04.in Texas, people across America have been taking to the

:02:05. > :02:11.And in these three cities there's a lot of anger.

:02:12. > :02:14.It all started last week after the shootings of two black men

:02:15. > :02:18.by police officers in two separate events.

:02:19. > :02:20.Protestors think that what happened was wrong and that police

:02:21. > :02:24.do not treat black people and white people equally.

:02:25. > :02:28.Most of the protests have been peaceful.

:02:29. > :02:31.But in Dallas in Texas, a gunman opened fire.

:02:32. > :02:35.Five police officers died and nine other people were wounded.

:02:36. > :02:38.Clashes between police and black communities in America have been

:02:39. > :02:44.When Barack Obama became America's first black President,

:02:45. > :02:47.many people hoped things would get better, but the problem

:02:48. > :02:53.Two years ago Ricky went to America to find out what young people

:02:54. > :02:57.He spoke to teenagers in Philadelphia where there

:02:58. > :03:11.I think the police are more afraid of African-Americans. I think they

:03:12. > :03:16.are threatened. But it makes you feel like you are threatened? Do you

:03:17. > :03:23.respect the police? There are some police that you can't trust. They

:03:24. > :03:27.arrest you for nothing. I think there is police that do care and to

:03:28. > :03:28.know who is out there who I can trust.

:03:29. > :03:35.Leaders across America have been calling for the violence to stop,

:03:36. > :03:38.and for police and communities to work together to make things

:03:39. > :03:42.New Wimbledon champ Andy Murray is still basking in his victory

:03:43. > :03:48.The Scot beat Canadian Milos Raonic, who is known for his powerful

:03:49. > :03:56.It's Murray's second Wimbledon title, and third grand slam overall,

:03:57. > :03:58.Magic Murray is now setting his sights on the Olympics next month.

:03:59. > :04:06.Like I said, I feel very motivated just now.

:04:07. > :04:09.Not just for the next few tournaments, but through to

:04:10. > :04:19.Rio is obviously a big goal of mine and hopefully I can perform well.

:04:47. > :04:48.Portugal beat home nation France in the Euros footie Championship

:04:49. > :04:54.in Paris 1-0 with a dramatic goal in extra time!
