0:00:16 > 0:00:24And we find out what it takes to be a fire fighting dog!

0:00:31 > 0:00:34First to tennis, and a massive day for the Brits at Wimbledon

0:00:34 > 0:00:36yesterday, with two players through to the quarter finals,

0:00:36 > 0:00:38for the first time in 44 years!

0:00:38 > 0:00:40Two time champ Andy Murray reached the quarter-finals

0:00:40 > 0:00:43for the tenth year in a row, thanks to a win over Benoit Paire.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45He'll take on Sam Querry tomorrow.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47After some injury worries before the tournament,

0:00:47 > 0:00:50he feels he's back on track.

0:00:50 > 0:00:56Two weeks ago I was resting, so, you know, I was a little concerned.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58When you are having issues just a few

0:00:58 > 0:01:02days before a big event, it is frustrating, but I did well

0:01:02 > 0:01:05and I think I've played some good stuff.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08Today, like I said, was the best I've played so far in the

0:01:08 > 0:01:09tournament.

0:01:09 > 0:01:14And, yes, I'm doing well, so hopefully keep it up.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16And the last British woman to win Wimbledon

0:01:16 > 0:01:20was Virginia Wade, back in 1977.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22Could Johanna Konta be the next?

0:01:22 > 0:01:25She's already the first British woman through to the quarter

0:01:25 > 0:01:27finals for 33 years, after a really tough three-set win

0:01:27 > 0:01:31over Caroleen Garcia from France yesterday.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34She takes on Simona Halep this afternoon.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37It's those positions, those situations that you, well,

0:01:37 > 0:01:41that I dream of, dreamt of when I was little girl.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Even now, to be a part of those battles, on big

0:01:44 > 0:01:51stages, so I think that's really what it's about to be a athlete.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53News about some of the other favourites.

0:01:53 > 0:01:58Roger Federer is through - but Rafael Nadal isout.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Roger Federer is through - but Rafael Nadal is out.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03Gilles Muller beat the two-time champion in an epic five-setter.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06It was 15-13 in the decider and the pair were on court

0:02:06 > 0:02:08for nearly five hours - meaning Novak Djokovic's match

0:02:08 > 0:02:11was delayed until today.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13It's monkey vs human.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16The cheeky wild monkeys on Gibraltar are having a bit of a row

0:02:16 > 0:02:19with the people living there, but now a charity has come along

0:02:19 > 0:02:21to try and keep the peace.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Ayshah has more.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29Look at these lot, hanging about, being cute, monkeying around.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Wait, did he just steal fruit?

0:02:31 > 0:02:35The Barbary macaques are the only wild monkey left in Europe.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39Tourists love them, but the people who live here, not so much.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41They know how to open your car door, they

0:02:41 > 0:02:44know when you wander down in town and you've left the kitchen

0:02:44 > 0:02:45window open.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48They know what a refrigerator is, they know how to

0:02:48 > 0:02:51pull the handle open open and help themselves.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53pull the handle open and help themselves.

0:02:53 > 0:02:54Refrigerators, eh?

0:02:54 > 0:02:56I would be devo'd if they stole my chocolate.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58These monkeys might be troublesome, but

0:02:58 > 0:02:59they're also rare.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01There are only 225 of them in Europe, and...

0:03:01 > 0:03:03They're the last free ranging primates in the

0:03:03 > 0:03:04whole of Europe.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06And they are on the endangered species list, and if

0:03:06 > 0:03:09we're not careful, they will disappear off the face of the earth.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12So, to keep the peace, a charity have set up special

0:03:12 > 0:03:14feeding stations away from homes, where the monkeys can

0:03:14 > 0:03:17get their grub.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19Let's hope they can all live together in perfect

0:03:19 > 0:03:23harmony.

0:03:23 > 0:03:25Tackling a blaze isn't just a job for firefighters -

0:03:25 > 0:03:28fire dogs play an important role, too!

0:03:28 > 0:03:33This is Scrappy, he helps the fire teams in the North East of England.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35But he's now putting his paws up and retiring.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38So who will get his job, and what does it take to be

0:03:38 > 0:03:41a brilliant fire dog?

0:03:41 > 0:03:45Meet Scrappy, County Durham and Darlington Fire Service's very

0:03:45 > 0:03:47special dog.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50He puts his fire protection boots on and then he's

0:03:50 > 0:03:53off, helping the firefighters.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56In fact, he's so good at his job, he's been given a special award

0:03:56 > 0:03:59by a nearby university.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02He can detect material that we are looking for as

0:04:02 > 0:04:06evidence at a metre deep and up to 21 days after the fire, which is

0:04:06 > 0:04:08really, really good.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11He's brilliant at his job, but it's time for

0:04:11 > 0:04:15Scrappy to retire, and a team are looking for his replacement.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18So, what makes a good fire dog?

0:04:18 > 0:04:20We like having cockers.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23Cockers, easy to train, very intelligent, good with

0:04:23 > 0:04:25kids.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28And this is lightweight, we can boost him up all over the place

0:04:28 > 0:04:30to do searches.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32He's quite happy on a ladder with me.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35And he will climb a platform as well, which allows us

0:04:35 > 0:04:38high access if we need to get into blocks

0:04:38 > 0:04:39or flats and that sort of

0:04:39 > 0:04:40thing.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Well, the hunt is on, but it's not going to be easy finding a dog

0:04:43 > 0:04:50that can fill Scrappy's fire boots.

0:04:50 > 0:04:53That's all from the team for now, Newsround's back right here at 8.15,

0:04:53 > 0:04:56when we'll be finding out more about Jupiter's famous red spot.

0:04:56 > 0:04:56Don't miss it.

0:05:10 > 0:05:11The Dumping Ground - I'm Floss...

0:05:11 > 0:05:13I'm Rhys, but she's Floss. ..is coming up next.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16And today's Faves At 5 is brand-new The Next Step. Oh, yes!
