0:00:03 > 0:00:03Hi guys.

0:00:03 > 0:00:07Welcome to the week with me Ricky and some of this on the way.

0:00:07 > 0:00:11How magic is being used to treat these children.

0:00:11 > 0:00:15Plus what happened when these people got stuck on a rollercoaster.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18It's Newsround.

0:00:21 > 0:00:27But first to Gaza, in the Middle East, where Israel

0:00:27 > 0:00:30and the Palestinian militant group Hamas have again agreed to stop

0:00:30 > 0:00:32fighting for another three days.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35The 72-hour ceasefire to allow more aid into the area was agreed

0:00:35 > 0:00:37after tense talks over the weekend.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40This is the second time they've agreed to a break in fighitng that's

0:00:40 > 0:00:42been going on for more than a month.

0:00:42 > 0:00:46Yolanda Knell is in Gaza and for the BBC.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49So far we've had no reports of any breaches to

0:00:49 > 0:00:53the ceasefire since it came into force at midnight local time.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56And what I can see around me now, some signs that Gaza city is coming

0:00:56 > 0:00:59back into more of a normal state.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02We have got cars honking on the roads below and this morning

0:01:02 > 0:01:09we have seen fishermen going out to see although sticking very close.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11And remember you can find out all about the full history

0:01:11 > 0:01:13of the conflict, and how it's affecting both sides,

0:01:13 > 0:01:16on the Newsround wesbite.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19In other news the after effects of what was Hurricane Bertha are

0:01:19 > 0:01:21still being felt in the UK today.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23At the weekend a mini tornado brought down trees

0:01:23 > 0:01:27and damaged cars and there were huge hail stones in Hampshire too.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30But there's warnings there could be more floods in the north

0:01:30 > 0:01:33and south-west of England, Wales and Scotland today.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36The weather's been caused by Bertha, which hit the Caribbean last week

0:01:36 > 0:01:39before weakening and moving across the Atlantic Ocean.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43But if you live somewhere that was lucky enough to miss the bad weather

0:01:43 > 0:01:46then you might have seen this spectacular supermoon last night.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48The moon appeared bigger and brighter than normal because

0:01:48 > 0:01:51of how close it was to the earth.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54Some people also caught a glimpse of an amazing meteor shower

0:01:54 > 0:01:56from the Perseid comet too.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59Now magic has been fascinating us for centuries

0:01:59 > 0:02:03but now there's claims that it could be used to help treat kids with

0:02:03 > 0:02:04a certain medical condition.

0:02:04 > 0:02:08A summer camp for kids with something called Hemiphligia's even

0:02:08 > 0:02:11called in celebrity magician Dynamo to help them out, and Leah went

0:02:11 > 0:02:15along to find out more.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18Please welcome Dynamo.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20First class magician Dynamo surprising children on

0:02:20 > 0:02:25the last day of their summer camp.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30They have a condition, one of the most common forms of cerebral palsy.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33Muscle weakness on one side of the body sometimes caused

0:02:33 > 0:02:41by brain injury or illness makes movement difficult.

0:02:41 > 0:02:48Children living with the condition, it can be frustrating.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50The things we do every day like getting dressed or pouring

0:02:50 > 0:02:53a drink can be almost impossible for young people with this.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Researchers at this innovative project here in

0:02:56 > 0:02:58London say magic has significantly increased their ability to carry out

0:02:58 > 0:03:01everyday tasks by themselves.

0:03:01 > 0:03:11Dynamo says it's important that children have fun with their magic.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13I've given them cards to shuffle, giving them magic skills

0:03:13 > 0:03:16for them to learn, they forget that they are exercising their muscles,

0:03:16 > 0:03:19so it's a nice way of getting them to do exercises but they still have

0:03:19 > 0:03:36fun at the same time.

0:03:36 > 0:03:40Take a trick like this, a sponge ball trick, it involves a sequence

0:03:40 > 0:03:40of

0:03:40 > 0:03:43counting from one to 10 and doing different movements with your hands.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45For children with this, they can have quite tightfisted

0:03:45 > 0:03:48hands, so getting their hand flat on the table is quite tricky for them.

0:03:48 > 0:03:50Through the repetitious movements you need to practice magic,

0:03:50 > 0:03:58it's working on developing the strength and skills in their

0:03:58 > 0:04:00affected hand. Researchers say before attending the camp,

0:04:00 > 0:04:01children

0:04:01 > 0:04:02can only perform 25% of activities.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04On their own using both hands.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07And it seems a little that of magic goes a long way as 10 days

0:04:07 > 0:04:10later, 93% of children completed their tasks with both hands.

0:04:10 > 0:04:11It's made me feel actually quite excited.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14It's my first time here and I'm really enjoying it.

0:04:14 > 0:04:14I liked seeing dynamo.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17Experts say a mix of magic and practical skills provide

0:04:17 > 0:04:20children with the confidence they need to grab life with both hands.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22Dynamo, before we go, can we do a magic trick?

0:04:22 > 0:04:23I think we should disappear.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26OK.

0:04:26 > 0:04:30It was a big day of sport so to catch up with how Arsenal

0:04:30 > 0:04:31beat Manchester City in the Community Shield and

0:04:31 > 0:04:36Rory McIlroy won his fourth golf major head to our website now.

0:04:36 > 0:04:39Firefighters have rescued 24 people who got stuck on a roller coaster

0:04:39 > 0:04:41in America.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44The Jokers' Jinx ride at the Six Flags theme park in Maryland

0:04:44 > 0:04:46broke down, leaving those on board stranded for

0:04:46 > 0:04:49around five hours near the highest point of the roller coaster.

0:04:49 > 0:04:52Rescuers offered the riders umbrellas to protect them

0:04:52 > 0:04:52from the sunlight.

0:04:52 > 0:04:57Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00That's all from me, Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.
