0:00:11 > 0:00:18The elephants helping to fight fires.

0:00:18 > 0:00:22And the incredibly rare pink diamond.

0:00:27 > 0:00:31Today is Armistice Day - and at 11 o'clock

0:00:31 > 0:00:33a two minute silence will be held across the country to remember those

0:00:34 > 0:00:37who have lost their lives in war.

0:00:37 > 0:00:41It starts at the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month -

0:00:41 > 0:00:47the time in 1918 when the guns finally fell silent along the

0:00:47 > 0:00:51Western Front in World War I and an armistice, or peace, was declared.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54People across the country will be marking the event, and we asked some

0:00:54 > 0:00:59of you what you'll be thinking about at 11 o'clock today.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02I will be thinking about my grandad and many of the

0:01:02 > 0:01:06soldiers who fought in the war and risked their lives to save us.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10I will be thinking about the people who died for us so we can be

0:01:10 > 0:01:13happy and live in a free country.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16I will be thinking about all those soldiers and people that have

0:01:16 > 0:01:19risked their lives for us.

0:01:19 > 0:01:25To me, it means that I am being very respectful to the people

0:01:25 > 0:01:29who took part in the war.

0:01:29 > 0:01:35It makes me feel proud of my country and people who suffered for us.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39I will be thinking of the people that risked their lives for our

0:01:39 > 0:01:43lives, so we can be a proud country.

0:01:43 > 0:01:48It makes me feel grateful, and I need to respect it.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50I will be thinking about this poppy because it

0:01:50 > 0:01:54represents Flanders Field, which was the first poppy to be grown,

0:01:54 > 0:01:59and represents new life and hope.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02And we want to know if you have anyone you will be remembering today

0:02:02 > 0:02:05and what Remembrance Day means to you, so head to our website

0:02:05 > 0:02:09and get in touch.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Next, a very rare pink diamond has been sold at auction It's called

0:02:12 > 0:02:17"the pink" and it was bought for ?18.5 million at the sale in Geneva

0:02:17 > 0:02:19in Switzerland.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21The people selling the diamond say that only three pink

0:02:21 > 0:02:25stones like this have come for sale over the past 250 years.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30No one wonder it was so expensive!

0:02:30 > 0:02:33A volcano in Mexico has erupted for the third time in a week,

0:02:33 > 0:02:36sending a column of smoke thousands of metres into the sky.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40The Colima volcano in the south-west of Mexico has been showing signs

0:02:40 > 0:02:42of activity since July.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45Over the past months, nearby villages have been blanketed

0:02:45 > 0:02:48with thick coats of ash, but no evacuation was needed

0:02:48 > 0:02:51for Wednesday's eruption.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54Yesterday, we told you about how a famous animal park is

0:02:54 > 0:02:57planning to make changes to their killer whale displays

0:02:57 > 0:02:58at one of its sites in America.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01SeaWorld has said they will phase out entertainment shows

0:03:01 > 0:03:05at their site in San Diego to concentrate on showing

0:03:05 > 0:03:06the animals in a more natural way.

0:03:06 > 0:03:13The decision by SeaWorld comes after years of pressure from campaigners

0:03:13 > 0:03:16One person who agrees with that is CBBC wildlife presenter, Steve

0:03:16 > 0:03:20Backshall, and he told us why.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Orca are the world's largest species of dolphin, and as you'd expect,

0:03:23 > 0:03:28they have a very big brain, they are very intelligent,

0:03:28 > 0:03:31they are really social with the other members of their pod, which

0:03:31 > 0:03:33usually are members of their own family.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35It has also been shown that they will grieve their dead

0:03:35 > 0:03:38and they will grieve when their calves are removed away from

0:03:38 > 0:03:40them to be taken into captivity.

0:03:40 > 0:03:44And this is a creature which can travel 100 miles in a day,

0:03:44 > 0:03:47like swimming from London to Birmingham, every single day.

0:03:47 > 0:03:51So if you were to take an orca and stick it into, essentially, a

0:03:51 > 0:03:52large swimming pool, I think it would be

0:03:52 > 0:03:54like having us locked into a

0:03:54 > 0:03:58bedroom for the whole of the rest of our lives with one single song in

0:03:58 > 0:03:58the

0:03:58 > 0:04:02background being played on loop over and over again,

0:04:02 > 0:04:06never able to communicate with other members of our friends and family.

0:04:06 > 0:04:11I don't think this one species should be kept in captivity.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13SeaWorld say they look after the animals well

0:04:13 > 0:04:15and have sent us this statement.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34Fire fighters in Indonesia, in Southeast Asia, have taken

0:04:34 > 0:04:38on some new members to help them look after the local forests.

0:04:38 > 0:04:41More than 20 elephants have been trained to help to put out forest

0:04:41 > 0:04:44fires in the country's Siak district.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46The animals can carry water pumps, hoses and other equipment whilst

0:04:46 > 0:04:52out on patrol around the forests.

0:04:52 > 0:04:56Next, should we have a national animal in Britian?

0:04:56 > 0:04:59In Russia they have the bear and in Australia it's the kangaroo .

0:04:59 > 0:05:01So should the humble hegdehog become the symbol for the UK?

0:05:01 > 0:05:03Well, Conservative MP Oliver Colville thinks so.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06He wants there to be vote on which animal should represent us,

0:05:06 > 0:05:09and he's backing the hedgehog.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11He thinks it could help save the species, whose numbers have

0:05:11 > 0:05:14fallen by more than a third over the last decade, with fewer than

0:05:14 > 0:05:17a million left in the wild now.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20Finally - it's been a busy few weeks for these guys.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22They're are all dressed up as Father Christmas.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24These men have just graduated from Santa School in Brazil.

0:05:24 > 0:05:28The school prepares them for a very busy December which will see many

0:05:28 > 0:05:32of them working in shopping centres - spreading the Christmas joy!

0:05:32 > 0:05:35Just enough time to remind you to get involved in a vote that's

0:05:35 > 0:05:36taking place right now online.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38In a special programme called Bullying:

0:05:38 > 0:05:40The Newsround Debate, we're asking you if bullies should

0:05:40 > 0:05:42be helped or punished.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45Make your choice over on the CBBC website.

0:05:45 > 0:05:49We'll reveal the outcome of that vote next week.

0:05:49 > 0:05:52That's all from me, do get online and let us know

0:05:52 > 0:05:53your Remembrance Day stories.

0:05:53 > 0:05:54Newsround is back later this afternoon.

0:05:54 > 0:06:01Bye!
