0:00:11 > 0:00:12Hi, guys!

0:00:12 > 0:00:16Martin here with your Monday Newsround, live on CBBC.

0:00:16 > 0:00:19First up, loads of you have had the day off today after the wintry

0:00:19 > 0:00:23weather closed hundreds of schools, and you've been going

0:00:23 > 0:00:24snowman crazy!

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Snow joke...

0:00:26 > 0:00:28Watch this.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Christmas weather has well and truly landed in the UK after heavy

0:00:33 > 0:00:36snowfall in many places.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38The snow started over the weekend and has continued today,

0:00:38 > 0:00:42as temperatures have plummeted.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44But perhaps more importantly, it's also meant a snow

0:00:44 > 0:00:46day for loads of you.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Hundreds of schools across the country have been closed

0:00:49 > 0:00:51thanks to the weather, and that's giving you time

0:00:51 > 0:00:55to get out there and have some fun in the snow.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58You've been sending us your snowy snaps.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Look at this giant - Jack and Daniel built this huge

0:01:01 > 0:01:05snowman with their dad in the garden in Warwickshire.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08And you're never too old to play in the snow -

0:01:08 > 0:01:10this is Lilia, who's seven, and her grandad

0:01:10 > 0:01:12Charles in Llandudno.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Ethan is six and from London.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16He's made a snowman, and if you look closely at tiny

0:01:16 > 0:01:19little snow dog too.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21And Dacha from Wolverhampton is the snow Queen,

0:01:21 > 0:01:22with this big snowy throne.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Good work!

0:01:24 > 0:01:26And check out these two from Harlow.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28Love the classic look!

0:01:28 > 0:01:30What did one snowman say to the other?

0:01:30 > 0:01:31Can you smell carrots?

0:01:31 > 0:01:33Great effort, guys!

0:01:33 > 0:01:39The cold weather is set to continue so keep those pics coming in.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42A record five English teams are into knockout stages

0:01:42 > 0:01:44of the Champion's League.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46So who did they get in the draw earlier today?

0:01:46 > 0:01:50Watch this.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53Two clubs face Spanish sides - Chelsea will be up against Barcelona

0:01:53 > 0:01:55and Manchester United will test their skills

0:01:55 > 0:01:57against Sevilla.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00United's arch rivals Manchester City will play

0:02:00 > 0:02:03Switzerland's Basel.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Liverpool will go head-to-head with Portugal's Porto,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09and last but not least Tottenham Hotspurs are up

0:02:09 > 0:02:12against Italian side Juventus.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Now the big question is how many of these English teams

0:02:14 > 0:02:20will make it to the next round?

0:02:20 > 0:02:23This Christmas, thousands of kids in the UK are caring for relatives

0:02:23 > 0:02:25who are ill or can't look after themselves.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28We went to meet Abi to find out how she and her mum

0:02:28 > 0:02:32will be spending the holidays.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35If I could have a wish, like one wish, it would be

0:02:35 > 0:02:37make my mum's MS go.

0:02:37 > 0:02:43For Abi and her mum, Christmas is their favourite time

0:02:43 > 0:02:45of year, but unlike most 11-year-olds, Abi can't just chill

0:02:45 > 0:02:46out over the holidays.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50Her mum has a disease called MS.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53That sometimes stops her doing things that she wants like running,

0:02:53 > 0:03:03walking and doing simple activities like bending as well.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06That means Abi has to help her mum do certain things,

0:03:06 > 0:03:09even on Christmas Day.

0:03:09 > 0:03:17When I wake up, I help her put some socks on and shoes.

0:03:17 > 0:03:23I come down but I don't open presents, I make breakfast instead!

0:03:23 > 0:03:25It's not like you normally spend Christmas with a mum

0:03:25 > 0:03:31that's got MS but you...

0:03:31 > 0:03:34It's kind of like, you feel like you want to do more,

0:03:34 > 0:03:39especially when it's a more special time.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41Like, you want to help more and you want to just

0:03:41 > 0:03:43kind of be there more.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46So, being a carer for your mum, does that mean sometimes you miss

0:03:46 > 0:03:48out on doing things that people your age would normally do?

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Well, most young kids could go to the park or play

0:03:51 > 0:03:55with their friends but if my mum is ill or if I need to stay in,

0:03:55 > 0:04:02I kind of don't have that opportunity often.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05But Abi will go off and do all of those brilliant things,

0:04:05 > 0:04:07but in her head she is always thinking, "Where's Mum?"

0:04:07 > 0:04:10"Who's with Mum?"

0:04:10 > 0:04:13It can be really tough caring for a relative but luckily Abi gets

0:04:13 > 0:04:16lots of support from her school, and at a special group

0:04:16 > 0:04:21run by a charity.

0:04:21 > 0:04:25The help I get is kind of, say that just because you are a young carer,

0:04:25 > 0:04:27doesn't mean you're different to everyone else.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30Every bit of being a young carer is amazing because you could go out

0:04:30 > 0:04:35with Barnardo's or Barnardo's would help you.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38And it's kind of you are not alone with this.

0:04:38 > 0:04:40You have people that will help you.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43What does it mean to you to be a carer for your mum?

0:04:43 > 0:04:46It's kind of like cheese and crackers or strawberries and cream.

0:04:46 > 0:04:52Like we stick together for everything.

0:04:52 > 0:04:56That's it from me.

0:04:56 > 0:05:02Newsround is back tomorrow at 7.40am.
