0:00:03 > 0:00:06Good morning all. It's Thursday, it's Newsround.

0:00:06 > 0:00:07I'm Ricky.

0:00:07 > 0:00:09Coming up:

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Could baboons speak like you, too?

0:00:14 > 0:00:24We hit the beach to talk about the future of the UK.

0:00:27 > 0:00:31Now, there's been lots of wintry weather across the UK overnight -

0:00:31 > 0:00:33strong winds, low temperatures and even some snow showers.

0:00:33 > 0:00:38Roads are being gritted and some flights have been cancelled.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40But will the UK get enough snow for a proper snowman?

0:00:40 > 0:00:42Here's weatherman Simon King.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45We've been waiting all winter and finally some of us

0:00:45 > 0:00:47are going to get some snow.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50We've had quite a bit already across Scotland.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52But, at the moment,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54we've got very cold air coming in from the Arctic,

0:00:54 > 0:00:57spreading its way right across the UK.

0:00:57 > 0:01:01And that's going to bring us more snow in across Scotland,

0:01:01 > 0:01:04Northern Ireland, even across parts of north-west England.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08You might see some snow flurries down to low levels.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11Most of it will be over the hills - that is where you are most

0:01:11 > 0:01:12likely to make snowmen.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14You might get a snow day, as well.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15Even in the south, look at the rain moving in.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21That will gradually turn to snow in the Welsh mountains,

0:01:21 > 0:01:25the Cotswolds, through the Chilterns, and even

0:01:25 > 0:01:27through East Anglia and the south-east of England.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29Even here, you might see snow down to low levels.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Perhaps not too much to make snowmen, but, wherever you are,

0:01:32 > 0:01:33it's going to be a cold day.

0:01:33 > 0:01:34Wrap up warm.

0:01:34 > 0:01:38Those are the temperatures in the wind.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41And we want your weather updates.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44If the snow starts falling where you are, you can send

0:01:44 > 0:01:47us your pictures or your own weather report by going online.

0:01:47 > 0:01:51The next President of the USA, Donald Trump, has spoken

0:01:51 > 0:01:54to the world's media for the first time since winning the election.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56He explained what would happen to his businesses

0:01:56 > 0:02:02when he became President.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05But it was a very fiery meeting and Mr Trump argued with news

0:02:05 > 0:02:07reporters over the way they treat him.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11Next, this year is going to see some big changes to the way our country

0:02:11 > 0:02:12deals with its neighbours.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15Martin and Ayshah love the seaside so we sent them out

0:02:15 > 0:02:18to find out some more.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22This is Brighton.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25It's got a pier, it's got a tower, it's got the sea,

0:02:25 > 0:02:26and it's even got sand.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Well, kind of.

0:02:28 > 0:02:33This is Blackpool.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35It's got a pier, it's got a tower, and, you guessed

0:02:35 > 0:02:37it, it's got the sea.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40But there were some differences between the two when it comes

0:02:40 > 0:02:44to the vote that adults took last year for Britain to leave

0:02:44 > 0:02:48a club of countries called the European Union.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51Here in Brighton, most people voted to stay.

0:02:51 > 0:02:56But here in Blackpool, most people voted to leave.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59Now, this year, the UK Government is going to tell the European Union

0:02:59 > 0:03:01that we're leaving.

0:03:01 > 0:03:07So what do kids in these two places think of that decision?

0:03:07 > 0:03:13I think leaving the EU is a good thing, because we will have more

0:03:13 > 0:03:16control of our money and can give it to services who need it

0:03:16 > 0:03:19most, like hospitals.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22I chose to stay in the EU because I want to be like united

0:03:22 > 0:03:24with other countries.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28For a few weeks or a couple of months, we might take a bit

0:03:28 > 0:03:32of time to get used to the idea that we're not in the EU any more,

0:03:32 > 0:03:36we don't really have any countries to really back us up as we used to.

0:03:36 > 0:03:40But I do feel that we will get used to it and that we will make

0:03:40 > 0:03:41Britain great again.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45If we'd stayed in we could have moved on and forgotten about it

0:03:45 > 0:03:48and still have the good deals and good relationships with them.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51And now, because we've left, we have to find different

0:03:51 > 0:03:56deals, we have to find, in a way, new friends.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00I think that people coming from different countries

0:04:00 > 0:04:04is like losing our money, so getting people's life back

0:04:04 > 0:04:07on track will get money for us, because we're only a small country

0:04:07 > 0:04:13and the money that we give away is quite a lot.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16I feel that we could be not as safe as we were.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19There is a bigger chance that we could make enemies

0:04:19 > 0:04:21with the other countries in the EU now.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24It's frustrating when big decisions are getting made,

0:04:24 > 0:04:28because we don't get a say in the decisions and I think

0:04:28 > 0:04:31we should, because we're the ones that are going to be

0:04:31 > 0:04:37affected by them.

0:04:37 > 0:04:38Interesting.

0:04:38 > 0:04:41We know they can walk like you, but scientists believe that

0:04:41 > 0:04:45monkeys might also be able to talk like you.

0:04:45 > 0:04:47The results of a study into the grunts baboons make has

0:04:47 > 0:04:50found they create five sounds similar to the vowels

0:04:50 > 0:04:52we use to say words.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54It had been thought baboons did not have the throat muscles needed

0:04:54 > 0:04:57to make vowel sounds.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59Newsround's back at 8:15.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06How many Blue Peter presenters does it take to change a light bulb?

0:05:06 > 0:05:07No, that doesn't really work.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10Why did the Blue Peter presenter cross the road?

0:05:10 > 0:05:13Er...to get closer to you?

0:05:13 > 0:05:17Can you do better? We want your own original joke.
