0:00:12 > 0:00:16Hi, I'm Martin with your Friday afternoon news update.

0:00:16 > 0:00:19And we're kicking off with some pop news, because Sigrid has been named

0:00:19 > 0:00:24as the BBC Music "Sound of 2018".

0:00:24 > 0:00:26And how's this for a reaction?

0:00:26 > 0:00:28Sigrid, you are the winner!

0:00:28 > 0:00:29What?!

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Number one.

0:00:31 > 0:00:32Oh!

0:00:32 > 0:00:34How do I describe that?

0:00:34 > 0:00:40It means a lot.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42Awww - she cried!

0:00:42 > 0:00:45Sigrid first hit the UK charts last year, and her latest track

0:00:45 > 0:00:50"Strangers" has been getting a lot of love on Radio 1.

0:00:50 > 0:00:54The prize is voted for by music critcs, DJs and former winners

0:00:54 > 0:00:57and often predicts artists who go on to big success.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00The Norwegian pop singer is the second youngest ever to win

0:01:00 > 0:01:04the award after Adele.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08Next, the NHS - it's one of the most recognisable logos.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11It stands for the National Health Service and it's where you go

0:01:11 > 0:01:13if you're injured or feeling unwell.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15But at the moment, some patients are having to wait

0:01:15 > 0:01:17longer to be looked after.

0:01:17 > 0:01:22Ricky's been finding out why.

0:01:22 > 0:01:27Everybody in the UK has access to NHS doctors and hospitals.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30You've probably used it without even realising.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34And whenever you need to visit the doctor or a hospital any

0:01:34 > 0:01:36treatment you get is free.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38That's because it's paid for by the taxes that adults

0:01:38 > 0:01:41pay to the Government.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45But right now doctors and hospitals are very busy.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48There aren't enough hospital beds and that means patients might have

0:01:48 > 0:01:50to wait a bit longer to be treated.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53So why is this happening now?

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Winter is always a hard time for hospitals because more people

0:01:56 > 0:01:57get the flu and other viruses.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00But health bosses say it is getting harder and harder to do everything

0:02:00 > 0:02:03with the money they are given by the Government.

0:02:03 > 0:02:08So, they are asking for more.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11The Prime Minister, Theresa May, who's in charge of the Government,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13has apologised to patients but says they're doing enough

0:02:13 > 0:02:16to support the NHS.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20The leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn disagrees and says

0:02:20 > 0:02:24more money needs to be spent to help doctors and nurses to do their jobs.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27So what does this all mean for you and how long would it take

0:02:27 > 0:02:33to be seen by a doctor if you need to go to hospital?

0:02:33 > 0:02:35If you need to go to hospital, you might have to wait

0:02:35 > 0:02:38a while to start treatment.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42But you would definitely get the help you needed.

0:02:42 > 0:02:50And if you had had a bad accident or were very poorly,

0:02:53 > 0:02:55you would be seen sooner.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Sport now - and something loads of you were outraged about last year.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00The moment when Northern Ireland crashed out of their World Cup

0:03:00 > 0:03:01play-off against Switzerland.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04This is what some of you had to say straight after

0:03:04 > 0:03:05the match back in November.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07The referee, not sure about that.

0:03:07 > 0:03:08The referee is blind.

0:03:08 > 0:03:09It should not have been a penalty.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12It should never have been a penalty.

0:03:12 > 0:03:19We could have done better if that referee was not the referee.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23Well, the referee who awarded that controversial penalty has

0:03:23 > 0:03:28admitted, he made a mistake.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31And now he's been told that he will not be used

0:03:31 > 0:03:33as a ref at the World Cup this summer in Russia.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35But is that a fair punishment?

0:03:35 > 0:03:37We asked some fans for their views.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39I do think it's fair, that the referee won't be used,

0:03:39 > 0:03:40as he made a mistake.

0:03:40 > 0:03:44And now Northern Ireland are being punished.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47I'm glad the ref admitted his mistake, but here

0:03:47 > 0:03:50in Northern Ireland we are left devastated.

0:03:50 > 0:03:52Northern Ireland should be given a re-match because it was

0:03:52 > 0:03:56the referee's mistake.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00The referee ruined our chances by calling a penalty.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03Everybody makes mistakes.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05It is not fair on our country.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07The referee should not have given a penalty,

0:04:07 > 0:04:15he was absolutely in the wrong.

0:04:15 > 0:04:19Finally, keeping fit and healthy is important for all of us -

0:04:19 > 0:04:25even if we might not always feel like it.

0:04:25 > 0:04:30And it tuns out penguins can need a bit of encouragement too.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32This video shows a keeper at Milwalkie Zoo in the US

0:04:32 > 0:04:35using tiny fish as treats to encourage the penguin pals to get

0:04:35 > 0:04:39onto the scales to be weighed.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43Now Penguins love a bit of fish, so in all the excitment they all

0:04:43 > 0:04:44end up on the scales at once!

0:04:44 > 0:04:47And this wee one clearly thinks he deserves a few extra snacks.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49Well, it is Friday after all.

0:04:49 > 0:04:50And that's your lot!

0:04:50 > 0:04:51Have a cracking Friday evening.

0:04:51 > 0:04:52Newsround's back in the morning.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55Bye!
