:00:00. > :00:14.Hi, it's 4.20pm. I'm Martin, coming up... I am in a village where the

:00:15. > :00:26.waters are continuing to rise. And all the latest from Sochi.

:00:27. > :00:29.This is Newsround. First, hurricane force winds,

:00:30. > :00:33.torrential rain and even snow in some areas, Britain's wet winter has

:00:34. > :00:36.just gone up a level. The Met Office - scientists who predict the weather

:00:37. > :00:40.for the government - have issued a rare red warning - the highest alert

:00:41. > :00:43.- with extreme winds expected in north and west Wales and parts of

:00:44. > :00:47.North West England. Forecasters say the bad weather will have an impact

:00:48. > :00:55.on areas of the country already hit by floods. Ayshah joins us live from

:00:56. > :00:58.Datchet, in Berkshire. Here in the village it is a very

:00:59. > :01:02.water the village it is a very watery scene indeed. It looks like

:01:03. > :01:07.it is going to get worse. Forecasters have said that it could

:01:08. > :01:12.possibly get worse. Beer in mind we are about seven months -- miles away

:01:13. > :01:16.from Heathrow and two miles away from Windsor Castle. But the army

:01:17. > :01:20.have been brought in and they have been putting sandbags at different

:01:21. > :01:24.properties all over this village. The river burst its banks on Monday

:01:25. > :01:28.and water has been gushing through ever since. The children have been

:01:29. > :01:33.speaking to us in this area and have been telling us how they feel about

:01:34. > :01:40.the situation. We have been school since Friday. We're not allowed to

:01:41. > :01:45.use the water any more because it is contaminated. It has been chaotic

:01:46. > :01:51.because no one can get out. It is boring at all because we cannot go

:01:52. > :01:55.anywhere. Sandbags have been littering the whole street, people

:01:56. > :02:00.are just trying to keep this water right. The emergency services have

:02:01. > :02:03.been here, we have had two or three fire trucks come through in the last

:02:04. > :02:07.couple of minutes, they are all trying to help people in this

:02:08. > :02:10.community. Many people do not know when they will be able to go home

:02:11. > :02:18.and get back to the lives that they had before.

:02:19. > :02:22.Meanwhile all schools in Pembrokeshire are closed and people

:02:23. > :02:28.have been told to take action immediately with 100 mph winds

:02:29. > :02:35.expected later on tonight. There is plenty more on the floods on our

:02:36. > :02:38.website as well. Check out Nel's special report from a family in

:02:39. > :02:41.flood-hit Wraysbury, find out what the weather warnings mean and

:02:42. > :02:43.discover why the floods are happening.

:02:44. > :02:46.Widespread flooding is set to continue with experts warning that

:02:47. > :02:50.many areas in the South of England could be under water until as late

:02:51. > :02:54.as May because of the sheer amount of surface water. Head over to the

:02:55. > :02:56.website to find out more on that one.

:02:57. > :03:00.And some experts think this 5-metre hole that opened up on the M2 in

:03:01. > :03:03.Kent could be a result of the heavy rains. Sinkholes can happen when

:03:04. > :03:06.heavy rain collects underground. If the rain is slightly acidic it eats

:03:07. > :03:12.away at alkaline rocks - eventually causing the ground to give way.

:03:13. > :03:15.Prince William is to make a speech this evening, calling for an end to

:03:16. > :03:17.the illegal wildlife trade. Campaigners say hunting endangered

:03:18. > :03:21.animals, like tigers and elephants, has reached an all time high and

:03:22. > :03:24.they're are at risk of extinction. In Africa, it's thought an elephant

:03:25. > :03:31.is killed by poachers every 15 minutes. The BBC's Mark Lowen sent

:03:32. > :03:38.us this from Kenya. Their parents have been killed. Why?

:03:39. > :03:43.For these, the tasks. Their teeth under the long trunks. The elephants

:03:44. > :03:49.need them but in many parts of the world like China in the Far East the

:03:50. > :03:53.tasks that are made out of a very self are very high prices. Elephants

:03:54. > :04:00.are like us, they have feelings, this sense loss and pain. So what is

:04:01. > :04:05.being done to stop this? Rangers and the wildlife parks are going around

:04:06. > :04:09.to trying catch the butchers, the hunters, and they are using

:04:10. > :04:13.high-tech planes and computers find them. They are also punishing the

:04:14. > :04:18.butchers with stiff penalties, they are putting them in prison for many

:04:19. > :04:26.years and making them pay a lot of money to hunt these elephants. --

:04:27. > :04:30.the butchers many say a wildlife -- many people see that a worldwide ban

:04:31. > :04:39.should be put on people selling ivory. -- the poachers. The fight

:04:40. > :04:44.goes on to save these beautiful animals and stopped an international

:04:45. > :04:47.crime. To all the action from Sochi, and

:04:48. > :04:50.Team GB's Chemmy Alcott finished 19th in the downhill skiing and the

:04:51. > :04:53.woman's Curling team were unlucky after losing 9-6 against Canada.

:04:54. > :04:56.Check out these pictures of the Men's Nordic combined - a mixture of

:04:57. > :04:58.cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The gold went to German

:04:59. > :05:00.Eric Frenzel.
