:00:00. > :00:15.Hi, Leah here with Wednesday's top stories. On today's show: we get a
:00:16. > :00:20.sneak peek inside Hampden Park. The amazing pictures taken by a
:00:21. > :00:24.ten-year-old photographer from Iraq. But first, it's already been a big
:00:25. > :00:27.morning for Team GB at the Paralympics in Sochi. Jade
:00:28. > :00:32.Etherington has got herself on course for her third medal of the
:00:33. > :00:36.winter games. She came first in her opening run of the Slalom. She
:00:37. > :00:41.already has a silver and bronze medal to her name. 15-year-old
:00:42. > :00:44.Millie Knight, who is due back at school next week, completed the
:00:45. > :00:48.course with ease, she's in sixth place. But British super-G champion
:00:49. > :00:52.Kelly Gallagher fell during her run again today. The second run takes
:00:53. > :00:56.place in 15 minutes. Autism is a condition that affects
:00:57. > :00:59.around 500,000 people in the UK. People with autism can have problems
:01:00. > :01:04.relating to others and making sense of the world around them. But now
:01:05. > :01:15.British scientists have come up with a high tech approach to help, by
:01:16. > :01:19.using robots. Meet Casper. He might look a bit and usual but this human
:01:20. > :01:26.I'd robot is helping young children living with autism. For kids with
:01:27. > :01:31.autism, sometimes even the simplest thing like knowing when someone is
:01:32. > :01:36.happy or sad can be a big challenge. The condition can also make it very
:01:37. > :01:40.difficult for them to talk and play with other people. But here at this
:01:41. > :01:45.special school in Hertfordshire, they have a new robotic teacher
:01:46. > :01:52.helping the kids to learn. Four-year-old Byron gets to play
:01:53. > :01:58.with Casper every week. Hello, Byron, I am Casper. Scientists say
:01:59. > :02:06.kids with autism like the robot's simple features and repetitive
:02:07. > :02:10.phrases. The good thing is he has exactly the same expression and
:02:11. > :02:16.sound every single time. Can you make Casper have a happy face? In
:02:17. > :02:22.the last six months, teachers here say they have noticed an improvement
:02:23. > :02:27.in the way the children communicate. Now researchers are working hard to
:02:28. > :02:32.further develop Casper. Engineers are using the latest technology to
:02:33. > :02:38.bring these robots to life. They are even using a 3-D printer to create
:02:39. > :02:42.these plastic body parts. Later this year, 20 new robots will be given to
:02:43. > :02:47.parents and schools across the UK and it is hoped Casper will help
:02:48. > :02:51.children with autism make new friends, go to school and understand
:02:52. > :02:55.the world around them a bit better. And you've been sending us in your
:02:56. > :02:58.robot designs. Jasmine from Chigwell in Essex has created Rainbow
:02:59. > :03:01.Blaster, the robot that glows and changes colour to remind you that
:03:02. > :03:04.something important is about to happen, so you don't forget. And
:03:05. > :03:08.Craig from Flintshire has made these Spring Bots, who can hang out the
:03:09. > :03:14.washing and clean windows - very handy!
:03:15. > :03:16.Next, Glasgow is gearing up for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and has
:03:17. > :03:25.completely transformed it's stadium, Hampden Park, with a brand new
:03:26. > :03:29.athletics surface. This is Scotland's national football
:03:30. > :03:33.stadium which is undergoing something of a transformation so it
:03:34. > :03:38.can host the track and field events at the Commonwealth Games this
:03:39. > :03:43.summer. Everything looks pretty much normal but what you can't see is
:03:44. > :03:47.below my feet are 6000 stilts just like this one. The whole of the
:03:48. > :03:55.ground of the stadium has been raised up. These are supporting
:03:56. > :04:00.17,000 tonnes of ground and decking. The turf is already down to host
:04:01. > :04:04.events like jazz and, discus and shot put. The track will go down
:04:05. > :04:09.next month. It is made of this rubbery surface. Tracks all around
:04:10. > :04:15.the world are made of the same stuff. The organisers still have a
:04:16. > :04:21.bit of work to do on this place but they have until the 23rd of July to
:04:22. > :04:26.get it all perfect. The Commonwealth games start in 133 days time.
:04:27. > :04:30.Arsenal have been knocked out of the Champions League after drawing 1-1
:04:31. > :04:32.against German side Bayern Munich. Lukas Podolski scored Arsenal's
:04:33. > :04:37.leveller but it wasn't enough and the Gunners lost 3-1 on aggregate.
:04:38. > :04:40.Tonight Man City travel to Spain to take on Barcelona.
:04:41. > :04:44.You might think the pictures behind me were taken by an adult, but they
:04:45. > :04:47.actually belong to a 10-year-old boy from Iraq, whose just been described
:04:48. > :04:51.as the country's youngest professional photographer. Qamar
:04:52. > :04:53.Hashim, who has won awards for his professional style, tours the
:04:54. > :04:57.streets of Baghdad to capture people and scenic spots. That's all from
:04:58. > :05:01.me, Ayshah's back this afternoon. Bye-bye.
