:00:22. > :00:24.First to Greece, where people watching TV last night got a bit of
:00:25. > :00:29.a shock when the country's equivalent of the BBC was switched
:00:29. > :00:33.off in the middle of a programme. The government pulled the plug on
:00:33. > :00:35.the public funded ERT network, saying it wasted too much money.
:00:36. > :00:45.It's sparked big protests and strikes across the country - another
:00:45. > :00:51.reminder of the Greece's financial This was the moment the oldest TV
:00:51. > :00:54.channel in Greece went off air. Turned off mid-show by the Greek
:00:54. > :00:57.government - a drastic move to try and make savings by the people in
:00:57. > :01:00.charge of a country gripped by massive money problems. Switching
:01:01. > :01:05.off the channel was just another reminder of how bad things have got
:01:05. > :01:10.for Greece. They've borrowed billions of pounds over the last ten
:01:10. > :01:13.years and are desperately struggling to pay it all back. It's meant loads
:01:13. > :01:15.of people losing jobs, schools and hospitals being closed and a huge
:01:15. > :01:25.rise in homelessness- something Newsround witnessed first-hand when
:01:25. > :01:28.
:01:28. > :01:32.Leah went there in 2011. One of the signs of the big money troubles is
:01:32. > :01:35.the rows of shops closed and buildings half finished. Now adding
:01:35. > :01:38.their names to the list of unemployed are the 2,500 staff from
:01:38. > :01:45.the TV station they turned off - the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation,
:01:45. > :01:51.or ERT. As of this evening, you will be seeing black on the channels, ERT
:01:51. > :01:53.is closing. They've been suspended for now but many are expected to
:01:53. > :01:57.lose their jobs permanently. Straight after the screens went
:01:57. > :02:04.blank, people gathered outside the headquarters to protest. Journalists
:02:04. > :02:07.from rival stations have showed their support by going on strike.
:02:07. > :02:11.The government say ERT will re-launch but as a much smaller and
:02:11. > :02:14.cheaper to run broadcaster. But for now it seems Greek people will have
:02:14. > :02:17.to get used to more scenes like this, and TV pictures like this.
:02:17. > :02:20.Next - One Direction have taken a unique stand against bullying - by
:02:20. > :02:24.launching their own nail varnish. Yes, the boys have put their names
:02:24. > :02:27.to the new 1D Plus OD range. Each member has their own colour. Zayn's
:02:27. > :02:31.is green, Harry's blue and Niall is purple. They want kids in America to
:02:31. > :02:32.carry them in their pencil cases to remind them to be nice to each
:02:32. > :02:35.other. Failure at big tournaments is
:02:35. > :02:38.something England footy fans have got pretty used to over the years.
:02:38. > :02:41.But last night the next generation of stars suffered a big
:02:41. > :02:43.embarrassment, losing their third straight game and going out of the
:02:43. > :02:46.European U21 Championships. Manager Stuart Pearce blamed the players for
:02:46. > :02:48.not being good enough - reigniting a big debate about the talent coming
:02:48. > :02:50.through and the quality of kids' coaching.
:02:50. > :02:53.Another tournament, another disappointment - losing to the
:02:53. > :03:01.lowest ranked team competing and rock bottom of the group, with no
:03:01. > :03:05.points. Is It's a result made all the more shocking by the fact that,
:03:05. > :03:12.with the World Cup in Brazil exactly one year away, it was hoped some of
:03:12. > :03:15.these guys were the big hopes to take England glory. Their failure's
:03:15. > :03:21.sparked a much wider debate about whether coaching of kids in England
:03:21. > :03:26.is up to scratch. Stuart Pearce's job was made harder across many
:03:26. > :03:30.players withdrew, he had a squad in Israel, but the real issue is I this
:03:30. > :03:40.play is good enough, are we producing enough skilful young
:03:40. > :03:41.
:03:41. > :03:44.players -- are English players good enough? The FA claim this is the
:03:44. > :03:47.solution - St George's Park, a brand new coaching centre aimed at
:03:47. > :03:50.developing the national youth teams and coaches. And it can't come soon
:03:50. > :03:53.enough, with the number of young English players playing in the
:03:53. > :03:55.Premier League reaching an all-time low last season. Of every minute of
:03:55. > :03:58.every game played - English youngsters were on the pitch for
:03:58. > :04:01.only 2% of the time. That's below countries like Germany and France,
:04:01. > :04:04.nations with more recent success at major championships. Investment in
:04:04. > :04:07.youth and success in championships is a problem affecting all the home
:04:07. > :04:10.nations. But as far as England are concerned, the FA say the big prize
:04:10. > :04:17.of winning a tournament could take 15-20 years to achieve. So there
:04:17. > :04:20.could be lots more of this, and not much of this to look forward to.
:04:20. > :04:25.England's women will be hoping to show the boys how it's done at their
:04:25. > :04:27.own Euros in July. And we want your help to interview the coach Hope

:04:37. > :04:40.the Duchess of Cornwall, have made a very usual Royal appearance - in the
:04:40. > :04:42.Beano! The pair guest star in the latest edition of the famous comic,
:04:42. > :04:45.during which they visit the notoriously rowdy Bash Street
:04:45. > :04:48.School. Beano editor Craig Graham said Charles and Camilla were
