:00:00. > :00:09.Ricky here with some top stuff on the way this morning.

:00:10. > :00:12.Don't miss the unbelievable story of the boy born without ears.

:00:13. > :00:22.And Olympic champion Mo Farah on being airlifted to hospital.

:00:23. > :00:25.But first to a major nature project you can get involved in.

:00:26. > :00:27.It's all about bees and how scientists believe they are

:00:28. > :00:34.But now they're worried that changes in the environment are reducing

:00:35. > :00:37.the bumblebee population so to find out more, they're enlisting the help

:00:38. > :00:40.of children from across the UK to take part in a massive bee survey.

:00:41. > :01:10.This might look like a scene out of a film, and in a way, it is, because

:01:11. > :01:16.we are on a mission to find as many bumblebees as we can. According to

:01:17. > :01:22.researchers, bumblebee populations have crashed in the last 80 years in

:01:23. > :01:25.the UK, and two species have become extinct. Scientists are worried that

:01:26. > :01:29.changes to the environment are making numbers fall and they want

:01:30. > :01:35.people to start noting every time they spot one. So far, over 2000

:01:36. > :01:40.schools have signed up to the big bumblebee discovery. How many

:01:41. > :01:49.bumblebees have you found? 11 will stop I've found about eight. Is that

:01:50. > :01:53.good? Yeah. Let's keep looking. We are taking lots of pictures of them

:01:54. > :02:00.and putting the picture onto the blog and then we write a message and

:02:01. > :02:07.send it. This doctor has been looking into the decline of the

:02:08. > :02:13.bumblebee population. There are varieties of reasons why these

:02:14. > :02:15.insects are declining. Habitat is important, floors -- flowers are

:02:16. > :02:20.really important to bumblebees so they can get the energy that they

:02:21. > :02:24.need, and we know there has been a decline in flowers across the

:02:25. > :02:27.landscape. How can you tell the species apart? This is the banded

:02:28. > :02:35.orange tail be. And species apart? This is the banded

:02:36. > :02:42.might have spotted the black bodied orange tail, earlier in the year. We

:02:43. > :02:46.spotted 40 bumblebees over the last hour. All of this information will

:02:47. > :02:49.be entered into the wider scientific study, but I've think we have

:02:50. > :02:52.bothered to these bumblebees quite enough now. It is time for us to

:02:53. > :03:01.buzz off. Next to the amazing story

:03:02. > :03:03.of the nine-year-old who was born Around 100 kids each year are born

:03:04. > :03:10.without one or both of their ears. But now doctors in London have come

:03:11. > :03:14.up with a new way to help them. It involves making new ears out

:03:15. > :03:17.of other parts of the body, and school boy Kieran is one

:03:18. > :03:20.of those who's had the operation. Here's the moment when he saw his

:03:21. > :03:26.brand new ears for the first time. Look what I have got. You can have a

:03:27. > :03:45.really good look at your years now. Are you sure? Yes. Wow ex-macro now

:03:46. > :03:48.he can just be a normal kid -- wow excavation Mark Navidi can just be a

:03:49. > :03:53.normal kid. Sport and some of Team GB's biggest

:03:54. > :03:56.stars are gearing up for the European Athletics Championships

:03:57. > :03:58.which start this morning. Mo Farah will be going for double

:03:59. > :04:01.gold but has been explaining the full reasons why he missed

:04:02. > :04:03.the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Olympic champion's revealed he

:04:04. > :04:06.was forced to pull out after collapsing

:04:07. > :04:15.during a pre-Games training run. So much pain in my stomach and eye

:04:16. > :04:27.had to be airlifted to the ambulance -- hospital diet and air ambulance

:04:28. > :04:31.-- hospital by the air ambulance. It was scary. I would love to come back

:04:32. > :04:36.and continue the road to the Commonwealth Games. I'd did not want

:04:37. > :04:37.to disappoint my fans in all of the people who bought tickets, but I was

:04:38. > :04:44.not ready. And finally to

:04:45. > :04:46.a sporting event with a difference, Over 30 teams battled through the

:04:47. > :04:50.night in the 12-hour endurance race It's a bit different

:04:51. > :04:54.from what you might have seen The winning team managed to

:04:55. > :04:59.complete 366 laps of the circuit. Newsround's back right here in

:05:00. > :05:01.about half an hour.
