:00:00. > :00:12.You're live with Leah and we're about to go space crazy.
:00:13. > :00:18.Mission control to Newsround. You do not want to miss this. Five,
:00:19. > :00:26.four, three, two, one. And lift off! So, today's show is all about space,
:00:27. > :00:29.because right now, Tim Peake is doing the final training he needs to
:00:30. > :00:34.become the first ever British astronaut to live on the
:00:35. > :00:38.International space station, or ISS. It's all happening
:00:39. > :00:52.at a top secret venue... Hello, welcome to Star City in
:00:53. > :00:58.Moscow in Russia. This is the training camp for all astronauts
:00:59. > :01:01.that orbit the Earth. Major Tim Peake is currently here. He's the
:01:02. > :01:06.first British astronaut to fly to the ISS. We are here to meet him.
:01:07. > :01:15.There's training exercise of the day. Tim gets suited up and joined
:01:16. > :01:19.by his crew members, who have spent years training. Now, blast off is
:01:20. > :01:23.only a few weeks away. It is your last day of trading today. Where
:01:24. > :01:28.will you be doing today, and are you prepared for blast off?
:01:29. > :01:34.Today's job is, I'm docking for the space station re-entry back to
:01:35. > :01:37.Earth. I think we are prepared well for it.
:01:38. > :01:41.Sir Tim Berners-Lee shuttle to test his capabilities to the extreme.
:01:42. > :01:44.They are going through a simulation of what it is like to remove
:01:45. > :01:48.themselves from the International Space Station and return to Earth.
:01:49. > :01:52.So whatever Tim is going through now will be the way he does it when he
:01:53. > :01:58.is in space. This is where he will be eating on this table. And check
:01:59. > :02:02.this out. This is his toilet. Nice! He will be learning how to learn all
:02:03. > :02:05.the controls, and this is where he will dig his science experiments
:02:06. > :02:12.from. When he wishes to access the rest of the space station, he will
:02:13. > :02:14.do it through that whole. This is their final destination. The
:02:15. > :02:20.International Space Station. In between his busy training regime,
:02:21. > :02:23.Tim did get time to to to us. I have been in the space station behind us,
:02:24. > :02:27.that is really cramped. How do you deal with that?
:02:28. > :02:33.It does feel cramped, but you really get used to it, and this is only
:02:34. > :02:36.about half of the whole space there would space station.
:02:37. > :02:40.Hardier think this mission will change your life?
:02:41. > :02:43.I think it will be a wonderful experience, and my mission is to
:02:44. > :02:47.share that with as many people as possible when I get back, and also,
:02:48. > :02:51.to use it to contribute to the future programmes. We are looking at
:02:52. > :02:55.going to the Moon and Mars. From here, Tim will spend some time
:02:56. > :02:58.in quarantine, which is basically like a seal house which means he
:02:59. > :03:02.does not take any germs or infections with him to the space
:03:03. > :03:05.station. I have seen some of the training he has been doing, but he
:03:06. > :03:10.has told me that none of it compares to how he will actually feel when he
:03:11. > :03:11.is living in outer space. Brilliant stuff.
:03:12. > :03:13.Well, you guys have been getting just as excited
:03:14. > :03:18.Loads of you sent in questions for Hayley to ask him,
:03:19. > :03:30.OK, so how do you feel about being the first British astronaut who had
:03:31. > :03:33.to the International Space Station? That's from Jessica.
:03:34. > :03:37.I am very proud to be the first Brit to go to the space station. I was
:03:38. > :03:41.also very inspired by Helen Sharman, he was our first British astronaut
:03:42. > :03:44.in space. How long will it take to plan your
:03:45. > :03:48.trip to space? Going to space takes a long time to
:03:49. > :03:52.plan and prepare for. I was assigned to and a half years ago, but I have
:03:53. > :03:56.been an astronaut or six years. All that time has been training and
:03:57. > :03:59.preparing for space. Are you allowed to choose your own
:04:00. > :04:03.food or do you have to eat what has been given to you?
:04:04. > :04:06.Most of the food we eat in space is a set menu given to us, but we have
:04:07. > :04:11.a small percentage called bonus food. This is the exciting food that
:04:12. > :04:14.Heston Blumenthal has prepared with the schoolkids. There are seven
:04:15. > :04:19.menus he has prepared for me, which I'm really looking forward to.
:04:20. > :04:21.What are you most looking forward to and most dreading about going into
:04:22. > :04:25.space? I am most looking forward to the
:04:26. > :04:30.view of planet Earth. We have a wonderful Earth facing window, so to
:04:31. > :04:34.go there and actually watch the Earth go buy at 70,000 mph beneath
:04:35. > :04:37.you is going to be wonderful. What am I most dreading? Probably not
:04:38. > :04:39.having a hot shower for six months! You can see Tim
:04:40. > :04:41.answering more questions Plus, find out loads of
:04:42. > :04:45.cool facts about his mission Do check those out,
:04:46. > :04:49.and while you're there, let us know what you're up to
:04:50. > :04:53.for Children in Need tomorrow.
