:00:00. > :00:00.Chelsea and Everton but Arsenal have a game in hand against Aston Villa

:00:00. > :00:08.and a win against them will see them back on top. Hi, I'm Ayshah with

:00:09. > :00:12.your Monday morning Newsround. On today's show, a six storey car park

:00:13. > :00:19.crashes to earth. And loads of you tune in for the new look Voice.

:00:20. > :00:24.First to tennis, and within three hours of the Australian open

:00:25. > :00:29.starting, the British women were out. Laura Robson and Heather Watson

:00:30. > :00:40.both lost their matches on the very first day. Laura looked disappointed

:00:41. > :00:43.as she faced the press after her match. She lost the first ten

:00:44. > :00:46.points, and things didn't get much better. It took Belgium's Kirsten

:00:47. > :00:52.Flipkens just 50 minutes to win 6-3, 6-0. It is so difficult to

:00:53. > :00:59.transition from the things you are working on in training into a match,

:01:00. > :01:04.but I did not play well. I've had amazing support today and was upset

:01:05. > :01:07.that could not play better for the people who came to watch. Britain's

:01:08. > :01:10.number three Heather Watson is also out, beaten by 31st seed, Daniela

:01:11. > :01:13.Hunchukova. Their match lasted a bit longer than Robson's at two and a

:01:14. > :01:17.half hours, but the Slovak still beat Watson 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. But

:01:18. > :01:25.Watson says she's pleased with her performance, considering she was ill

:01:26. > :01:29.with glandular fever last season. I feel like it is an opportunity lost

:01:30. > :01:36.for me. I'm really looked forward to this trough. I thought it was a good

:01:37. > :01:39.draw for me. But have played ten matches this year already and if you

:01:40. > :01:42.told me that last year, I would have taken it in a second.

:01:43. > :01:45.To Thailand now where thousands of protesters have closed major roads

:01:46. > :01:48.in the capital Bangkok as part of a campaign to overthrow the

:01:49. > :01:51.government. They've been marching through the streets and holding

:01:52. > :01:55.rallies since early morning. 18,000 security staff have been out on the

:01:56. > :01:58.streets to try to keep things calm. The protesters don't agree with the

:01:59. > :02:01.way the Thailand's Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, is running the

:02:02. > :02:04.country and they want her out of power. They've been campaigning to

:02:05. > :02:07.replace her government with a people's council since November.

:02:08. > :02:10.We'll know tonight who'll get one of the biggest honours in football, the

:02:11. > :02:14.Ballon D'Or. It's given to the player who's outshone the rest in

:02:15. > :02:19.the world and Jenny has been finding out who's in the running this year.

:02:20. > :02:22.The Ballon D'Or, one of the most prestigious prizes a footballer can

:02:23. > :02:27.get and it seems Argentina's Lionel Messi can't let go of it. He's won

:02:28. > :02:33.four times in a row and this year he's in the running for it again.

:02:34. > :02:36.The winner is decided by selected managers, players and journalists

:02:37. > :02:40.from around the world. And this year it's a tough choice. The Barcelona

:02:41. > :02:44.ace has shown no sign of letting up, topping La Liga's scoring charts as

:02:45. > :02:47.his side made off with the 2013 league title. And he's been just as

:02:48. > :02:50.great on on the international front for his home nation, Argentina,

:02:51. > :02:54.helping to secure their place in this year's World Cup. But can the

:02:55. > :02:57.other two on the short list, Cristiano Ronaldo or Franck Ribery,

:02:58. > :03:00.take it off him? 2013 was another goal-drenched year for Ronaldo. The

:03:01. > :03:03.Real Madrid star helped himself to 34 goals in the Spanish league last

:03:04. > :03:07.season. And even though Franck Ribery had a frustrating 2012, he

:03:08. > :03:12.rose to help his team Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga, German Cup

:03:13. > :03:15.and UEFA Champions League last year. His qualities could well inspire his

:03:16. > :03:23.home country France to get back into the limelight in Brazil this summer.

:03:24. > :03:27.But why is the Ballon d'Or so important? I caught up with our

:03:28. > :03:34.resident footie expert, Match of the Day Kickabout's Radzi. It's like the

:03:35. > :03:38.Oscars for football. Winning it means that you were legitimately the

:03:39. > :03:44.best player in the world. It gets no better than that. What is your

:03:45. > :03:49.prediction? Messi or Ronaldo, or does Ribery have a chance? More than

:03:50. > :03:56.one goal a game this year, for Messi. It is Rinaldo for me. Can

:03:57. > :03:59.Messi keep the title for another year or will Ribery or Ronaldo

:04:00. > :04:03.snatch it often? All will be revealed tonight.

:04:04. > :04:07.Now how about this for an impressive big bang. This car park in Newport

:04:08. > :04:10.in Wales was blown up in a series of explosions, but don't worry, it was

:04:11. > :04:13.all planned. The building can be seen crumpling floor by floor. The

:04:14. > :04:16.demolition of buildings marks the first phase of a new development

:04:17. > :04:21.which will include shops and restaurants.

:04:22. > :04:24.The battle of the weekend telly ratings is well and truly on. And

:04:25. > :04:29.it's been won by the new revamped version of The Voice. The BBC One

:04:30. > :04:36.show beat it's rival Splash!, which is on ITV, by getting more than

:04:37. > :04:40.eight million viewers. Tom Daley's Splash was watched by only just over

:04:41. > :04:43.three million. The Voice returned to our TV screens, with new coaches

:04:44. > :04:46.Ricky Wilson and Kylie Minogue making their debuts. The singing

:04:47. > :04:49.talent show suffered falling ratings last year, so it's hoped Ricky and

:04:50. > :04:52.Kylie will help bring in more viewers.

:04:53. > :04:54.That's it. Tune in at 8.15am to find out why astronauts on the

:04:55. > :04:58.international space station couldn't wait to open their Christmas

:04:59. > :04:59.presents after they were blasted into space aboard this rocket. I'll
