0:00:03 > 0:00:07Hi, I'm Martin, with all your news this Wednesday afternoon.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10Coming up in the next few minutes:

0:00:10 > 0:00:14Kids get hands on with creepy crawlies at an insect conference.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16And that sinking feeling, the moment this road

0:00:16 > 0:00:19in America collapsed.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30First, more than 5,000 pupils in Ediburgh are still off school

0:00:30 > 0:00:34because of worries that their school buildings are not safe.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37The problem started in January when hundreds of bricks were blown

0:00:37 > 0:00:40from a wall at a primary school during a storm.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43That school reopened after a few days, but in March it was decided

0:00:43 > 0:00:46that all the schools built by the same company would

0:00:46 > 0:00:54have to be inspected.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56Over 3,000 pupils are back in class,

0:00:56 > 0:00:58but many more still don't have places to study.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00The council says it hopes to have all pupils back

0:01:00 > 0:01:02in lessons by next week.

0:01:02 > 0:01:03We spoke to two girls affected.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05It's sort of good, because we're missing

0:01:05 > 0:01:08some of the bad subject, because we're missing

0:01:08 > 0:01:11but it's also not too great, because we're missing like good

0:01:11 > 0:01:12subjects like drama and stuff.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14I'm quite happy about that, it's just an extra

0:01:14 > 0:01:16Easter holiday.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19It's easier for us to miss subjects than

0:01:19 > 0:01:27fourth, fifth and six years, because they've got upcoming exams

0:01:27 > 0:01:29and they are going to go on exam.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Believe it or not, without insects

0:01:31 > 0:01:32there would be no life on earth.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34So kids in Shropshire have been at a special

0:01:34 > 0:01:35insect science conference today.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39It's all about getting children up close with bugs so they can learn

0:01:39 > 0:01:43more about the role insects can play in different aspects of science,

0:01:43 > 0:01:47from pollinating plants to being the food for bigger animals.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Some of them are even being used for experiments,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52by carrying sensors on their back.

0:01:52 > 0:01:57It's a lot more interesting knowing, and getting to know the animals,

0:01:57 > 0:01:58rather than a book.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01It's a great opportunity to learn about the world

0:02:01 > 0:02:04around you, and get the hands-on experience.

0:02:04 > 0:02:08It's one of the busiest times of year for sheep farmers

0:02:08 > 0:02:10when thousands of lambs are born.

0:02:10 > 0:02:16Lambing season started in January and comes to an end this month,

0:02:16 > 0:02:19so Leah went to a farm in North Wales to find out more.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22BAA!

0:02:22 > 0:02:25The beginning of a new day.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32And the start of new life.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35For Tom and Mally, it's the best time of year because they get

0:02:35 > 0:02:39to help their parents deliver thousands of lambs here on the farm,

0:02:39 > 0:02:41and bring new life.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45This sheep's just had two lambs, they will go in a little pen

0:02:45 > 0:02:49with her, and they will get fed and all that.

0:02:49 > 0:02:50What's the matter?

0:02:55 > 0:02:57What's the best thing about lambing season for you?

0:02:57 > 0:03:01Well, out here there's always something different to do.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04Well, it's mainly really fast, you have to be

0:03:04 > 0:03:07up really early if you want to help.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10And now the moment we've been waiting for.

0:03:10 > 0:03:14Tom is able to safely deliver a lamb, after years of practice.

0:03:14 > 0:03:184,000 are expected to be born here this lambing season which makes

0:03:18 > 0:03:21it a really busy time.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25What I enjoy is lambing the sheep because it's fun

0:03:25 > 0:03:28when you get to learn how to pull them.

0:03:28 > 0:03:33Last year we had four that had four lambs.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37After a wobbly start to life, each new lamb is getting ready

0:03:37 > 0:03:39to explore their new home.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41Well, almost.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45Sport next, and it's a big day for basketball fans in the US.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47A team called the Golden State Warriors

0:03:47 > 0:03:49are on the brink of something special.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52This season, they've become only the second team ever

0:03:52 > 0:03:54to have won 72 games,

0:03:54 > 0:03:56putting them level with a Chicago Bulls side

0:03:56 > 0:03:58who did it over 20 years ago.

0:03:58 > 0:04:03Victory tonight means they'll be the first to ever achieve 73 wins,

0:04:03 > 0:04:06and a former player thinks the fans deserve it.

0:04:06 > 0:04:11Just to have this opportunity for the team is something

0:04:11 > 0:04:14that they all deserve, and hopefully they can

0:04:14 > 0:04:20achieve their goal, and mark history.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22Now take a look at this, this mobile phone footage shows

0:04:22 > 0:04:25the moment a road in california in america collapsed leaving a huge

0:04:25 > 0:04:29hole about 20 feet deep.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32The sinkhole is thought to have been caused by recent heavy rain

0:04:32 > 0:04:33washing away soil under the road.

0:04:33 > 0:04:35Scary stuff.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38And if you want even more amazing stories go online to find out

0:04:38 > 0:04:44about plans to send tiny spacecraft to another solar system, meet

0:04:44 > 0:04:46meet Palmerston the new mouse catcher cat working

0:04:46 > 0:04:50for the government and see the skateboarders taking over

0:04:50 > 0:04:51a water park in Dubai.
