:00:32. > :00:35.It's because of attacks that happened there in a nightclub
:00:36. > :00:37.in the early hours of Sunday morning.
:00:38. > :00:40.Sadly 50 people died and 53 others were injured.
:00:41. > :00:42.The man responsible for the attack was shot by police, before
:00:43. > :00:53.The group that calls itself Islamic State have said
:00:54. > :00:55.that they carried out the attack,
:00:56. > :00:57.although this hasn't been confirmed by the authorities.
:00:58. > :00:59.The American President, Barack Obama has spoken out
:01:00. > :01:06.We know enough to say that this was an
:01:07. > :01:13.As Americans, we are united in grief,
:01:14. > :01:15.an outrage and in resolve to defend our people.
:01:16. > :01:17.We don't know exactly why the attack happened,
:01:18. > :01:20.but it could have been the result of hatred towards gay people.
:01:21. > :01:26.And in the city of Orlando people are trying to come
:01:27. > :01:31.As the investigation continues, there are several words
:01:32. > :01:49.This is a city trying to make sense of the senseless and they're
:01:50. > :01:53.Hundreds have queued for hours to donate blood for the victims
:01:54. > :01:55.in hospital as the community come together to show their support
:01:56. > :01:59.Remember, if anything you see in the news upsets you,
:02:00. > :02:04.Now, because this shooting happened in a gay nightclub,
:02:05. > :02:07.some people think it could have been a homophobic attack.
:02:08. > :02:11.But what is homophobia? Here's Ricky to explain.
:02:12. > :02:15.Homophobia is a hatred or fear of gay people.
:02:16. > :02:21.Homo comes from the Greek word for "same" and phobia meaning "fear".
:02:22. > :02:24.Homophobia can lead to people being bullied or attacked
:02:25. > :02:28.because they fancy or love someone of the same gender.
:02:29. > :02:31.In the UK, it's against the law to treat people differently
:02:32. > :02:36.But there are some countries around the world where it's illegal to be
:02:37. > :02:42.The group that calls itself Islamic State have killed people
:02:43. > :02:45.for being gay as they say it's against their beliefs.
:02:46. > :02:47.Gay communities have adopted the rainbow flag
:02:48. > :02:54.Parades take place in cities around the world each year
:02:55. > :02:58.where people come together to support one another.
:02:59. > :03:00.If you are the victim of homophobia, make sure you talk
:03:01. > :03:09.Remember it isn't anything to be ashamed of.
:03:10. > :03:12.In ten days' time, adults across the country will have
:03:13. > :03:19.Whether the UK should stay in or leave a club of 28 countries
:03:20. > :03:21.in Europe, called the European Union.
:03:22. > :03:24.Now, the decision might be up to grown-ups but whatever
:03:25. > :03:31.So Nazia and Ricky will be finding out what kids all over Europe think.

:04:13. > :04:15.Hundreds of thousands of Poles have moved from
:04:16. > :04:19.Since Poland joined the European Union in 2004.
:04:20. > :04:21.My uncle, he works in a coffee shop and
:04:22. > :04:29.As well as talking to kids and teens here in
:04:30. > :04:33.Poland, I will be looking at why people coming to the UK from other
:04:34. > :04:37.EU countries has become such a big talking point ahead of the big vote
