:00:18. > :00:21.and for only the second time it's a woman.

:00:22. > :00:35.Hello, I'm at Downing Street and just behind me there have been a lot

:00:36. > :00:40.of people coming and going through the famous door and that's because

:00:41. > :00:44.we are getting a new Prime Minister, Theresa May. Beyond the press, there

:00:45. > :00:48.are hundreds of people outside the gates with selfie sticks and camera

:00:49. > :00:53.phones waiting because they know that something big is happening. We

:00:54. > :00:56.think in about half an hour David Cameron will be coming out and

:00:57. > :01:02.making a short speech, then heading to the palace to hand in his

:01:03. > :01:04.resignation, stepped down as Prime Minister.

:01:05. > :01:07.Then later this evening, Theresa May will move in as the

:01:08. > :01:12.There are three key players - David Cameron, Theresa May

:01:13. > :01:14.and the Queen, and here's how the handover works.

:01:15. > :01:16.At midday, David Cameron went to the Houses of Parliament

:01:17. > :01:19.for his last ever Prime Minister's Questions.

:01:20. > :01:21.That's where MPs usually drill him about what

:01:22. > :01:27.As it was his last one, things were a bit different.

:01:28. > :01:30.We saw plenty of tributes to David Cameron, especially

:01:31. > :01:39.Mr Speaker, can I first of all join all of those in thanking

:01:40. > :01:41.the Prime Minister for the statesman-like leadership he has

:01:42. > :01:45.given to our party and to the country for the last six years.

:01:46. > :01:50.And I'm told there are lots of leadership roles out

:01:51. > :01:58.There's the England football team, there's Top Gear.

:01:59. > :02:06.The last thing I would say is that you can achieve a lot

:02:07. > :02:16.of things in politics, you can get a lot of things done,

:02:17. > :02:18.and that in the end - the public service,

:02:19. > :02:20.the national interest, that is what it's all about.

:02:21. > :02:23.Nothing is really impossible if you put your mind to it.

:02:24. > :02:25.Whenever there's a change of Prime Minister or Government,

:02:26. > :02:28.the person leaving and the one taking over have to go

:02:29. > :02:31.So David Cameron has to go to Buckingham Palace

:02:32. > :02:34.to see Her Majesty and officially step down from his job.

:02:35. > :02:36.Theresa May will be next in to see the Queen

:02:37. > :02:40.She will then be the new Prime Minister of the UK.

:02:41. > :02:43.When Mrs May leaves the Palace, she will move into ten Downing St.

:02:44. > :02:47.Once she's there, she will start work and choose who she

:02:48. > :02:50.But what about the famous Downing Street cat?

:02:51. > :02:52.Don't worry, Larry, the mice will still need catching

:02:53. > :03:02.So, that's how things will happen later today.

:03:03. > :03:16.And what will be on Theresa May's to-do list?

:03:17. > :03:20.We are waiting for the new Prime Minister to start her job.

:03:21. > :03:22.Just look how many people are waiting.

:03:24. > :03:26.the world, covering this massive news story here in Britain.

:03:27. > :03:29.David Cameron wanted to hold that vote on whether

:03:30. > :03:32.we should stay in the EU, the club of other European countries.

:03:33. > :03:34.Britain voted to leave and he decided

:03:35. > :03:41.The rules say his political party, the Conservatives, get picked

:03:42. > :03:45.A few people put their names forward but then

:03:46. > :03:48.most of them pulled out, leaving Theresa May to take

:03:49. > :03:52.The big job she will have to do in the next few months is

:03:53. > :03:55.negotiating with the prime ministers and presidents around Europe for a

:03:56. > :03:56.new relationship between us and them.

:03:57. > :03:59.But the job she will be doing over the next few hours is picking

:04:00. > :04:09.lots of other politicians to help her run the country.

:04:10. > :04:21.There's helicopters in the sky, people with their cameras, and it is

:04:22. > :04:22.a crazy evening. We will have the latest for you tomorrow, but now

:04:46. > :04:47.round-the-world journey is the last flight back to Abu Dhabi, where it

:04:48. > :04:52.all started in March last year. I am back bright and early tomorrow
