0:00:44 > 0:00:45European premiere!

0:00:45 > 0:00:53CHEERING

0:00:56 > 0:00:59I used to watch Newsround all the time.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02What do they have to look forward to in this movie from you?

0:01:02 > 0:01:07Some fun fights.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Some fun creatures I get to work with, and, some

0:01:09 > 0:01:12fun new spaceships.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15They are the real fun stuff.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18What does this film mean for the new generation of fans?

0:01:18 > 0:01:21These films from the beginning were meant for children.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24People forget that.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26They say no, it is for 48-year-old nerds.

0:01:26 > 0:01:29No, it's for children.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32It just so happens that it appeals to the child in all of us, I

0:01:32 > 0:01:39guess.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41I was seven when I first saw Star Wars, and Princess

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Leia meant the world to me, because I hadn't seen many

0:01:44 > 0:01:46iconic female superheroes.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50And now I get to be part of a group, a tribe of very powerful

0:01:50 > 0:01:54female characters.

0:01:57 > 0:02:02I've got my nephews here who are young and they

0:02:02 > 0:02:05are passionate Star Wars fans, and they are the children

0:02:05 > 0:02:07of my brother who's nearly 50, and he is the world's

0:02:07 > 0:02:08greatest Star Wars fan.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10So it is for such a wide audience.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Despite the fact that I am in it, I think

0:02:13 > 0:02:21it is one of the best Star Wars films ever made.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23What will you be doing on Christmas Eve?

0:02:23 > 0:02:24Watching festive films?

0:02:24 > 0:02:29Maybe putting out a mince pie for Father Christmas?

0:02:29 > 0:02:32Well, these boys have a very important job to do before they can

0:02:32 > 0:02:35go to bed - singing for people all around the world!

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Let's meet them.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40Hi, Newsround.

0:02:40 > 0:02:41We sing in King's College Choir,

0:02:41 > 0:02:47which started over 500 years ago.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Christmas is a very special time for us, because we sing

0:02:50 > 0:02:54in a service called Nine Lessons and Carols.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56And it takes place right here, in King's College Chapel in Cambridge,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58it first took place in 1918.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00This service is broadcast live on

0:03:00 > 0:03:03the radio on Christmas Eve and millions of people listen to it

0:03:03 > 0:03:06every year.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09The service starts with a boy singing a solo of Once In

0:03:09 > 0:03:11Royal David's City.

0:03:11 > 0:03:16Nobody knows who's going to do the solo until

0:03:16 > 0:03:18right before it begins, when the conductor points

0:03:18 > 0:03:24at somebody to do it.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26Before the service, I feel excited and nervous.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Yeah, it's all mixed emotions, really.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30There is always something to help you with

0:03:30 > 0:03:32your nerves.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35I usually take really deep breaths and think about how

0:03:35 > 0:03:44amazing the service is going to sound.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47I also love how I can just imagine, when we are singing, people

0:03:47 > 0:03:49just smiling on the other side of the radio.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52Before the service I feel proud to sing with this choir,

0:03:52 > 0:03:55because it's really, really famous.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57I feel really Christmassy, because it's just really building up to

0:03:57 > 0:03:58Christmas.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00We can't wait for Christmas Eve.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03Merry Christmas, Newsround!

0:04:03 > 0:04:06Next, lots of you will probably bring in a Christmas present

0:04:06 > 0:04:10for your teacher on the last day before the holidays.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13But some kids in Falkirk in Scotland have been told not to,

0:04:13 > 0:04:17because the local council has stopped allowing it!

0:04:17 > 0:04:19The council say they've decided this because not

0:04:19 > 0:04:21all families have the money, or want to buy

0:04:21 > 0:04:22presents for teachers.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25But some kids and parents aren't happy about it.

0:04:25 > 0:04:29And we want you to get in touch and tell us if you think buying

0:04:29 > 0:04:31teachers Christmas presents is a good idea or not.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33Head online to let us know.

0:04:33 > 0:04:39

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Imagine this - your team's drawing 1-1.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43Then you get the ball, you pass it across, and...

0:04:43 > 0:04:45Your team mate completely misses an open goal!

0:04:45 > 0:04:47This shocker from Wolfsburg forward Divock Origi yesterday

0:04:47 > 0:04:49is in the running for miss of the year!

0:04:49 > 0:04:52Awkward!

0:04:52 > 0:04:55That's all from me but Newsround is back with more top stories
