0:00:03 > 0:00:04It's coming up to 8:17am.

0:00:04 > 0:00:07You're live with Newsround on CBBC this Tuesday.

0:00:07 > 0:00:08I'm Ayshah.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10On the way this morning.

0:00:10 > 0:00:14We've got muggles...plans for a UK Quidditch Premier League.

0:00:14 > 0:00:18And mowing...lawn mower racing in Finland.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30First, around 200,000 people living close to America's tallest dam have

0:00:30 > 0:00:33been told it's not safe for them to return home yet.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36The area around the Oroville Dam was evacuated after a hole

0:00:36 > 0:00:39was found in part of it.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41The Oroville Dam is in northern California.

0:00:41 > 0:00:45It's the tallest in America, at 230 metres, which is about the same

0:00:45 > 0:00:50as 15 double decker buses stacked on top of each other.

0:00:50 > 0:00:54A dam is a barrier that's built to hold back water.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57It can be used to generate electricity, supply homes,

0:00:57 > 0:01:00or to help stop flooding.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03The Oroville Dam works by collecting rain water in a reservoir or a lake.

0:01:03 > 0:01:08But there's been heavy rain and snow recently,

0:01:08 > 0:01:09meaning the lake has got too full.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11When something like this happens, a spillway,

0:01:11 > 0:01:14which looks a bit like a huge water slide, is used

0:01:14 > 0:01:17to release some of the water in a controlled way.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21But the heavy rain has damaged the spillway.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23It's got a big hole in it.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26There were worries it could have caused a huge wall of water to fall

0:01:26 > 0:01:29into the river below and flood the area.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33Thousands of people were ordered to leave their homes.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Many spent the night in shelters.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37They've now been told they can't return home yet.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39Getting those people home is important to me.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43I want that to happen as soon as possible.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46But I have to be able to sleep at night

0:01:46 > 0:01:49knowing that they are back in that area.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Teams have been working to fix the problem.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55After draining some of the water, bags of rocks

0:01:55 > 0:01:57were dropped to plug the hole.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00Workers then checked the damage.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03For now, the water levels in the lake have gone down

0:02:03 > 0:02:08but more rain is expected in the area this week.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10It's no fun being left out of your team, is it?

0:02:10 > 0:02:12Just ask Sergio Aguero.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15The Manchester City striker was put on the bench again last night

0:02:15 > 0:02:20to make way for the new kid on the block, Gabriel Jesus.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23Less than 15 minutes in, he got injured, giving

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Aguero his chance to shine.

0:02:25 > 0:02:33But it was Raheem Sterling who scored first!

0:02:33 > 0:02:37It came instead on the far post to Raheem Sterling, and it is in

0:02:37 > 0:02:39for him.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41A second goal.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44In the second half, Aguero appeared to put one in,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47only for it to be given as an own goal to

0:02:47 > 0:02:48Bournemouth's Tyrone Mings.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51Either way, a 2-0 win for City which puts them into second

0:02:51 > 0:02:55in the Premier League title race.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Now, I don't think Sergio Aguero would be happy if this happened

0:02:58 > 0:02:59at the Etihad Stadium.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01A council in Aberdeenshire in Scotland has said

0:03:01 > 0:03:04sorry after making a bit of an awkward mix-up.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07These trees were planted as part of the council's plan

0:03:07 > 0:03:12to help boost nature in the area.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14But, they ended up planting them in the middle of

0:03:14 > 0:03:15a local football pitch!

0:03:15 > 0:03:16Oh dear!

0:03:16 > 0:03:19I wonder if they are playing tree-aside?

0:03:19 > 0:03:22A different kind of sporting League is due to start later this year.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24A quidditch Premier League.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Oh, yes, there are plans for a UK-wide muggles version

0:03:27 > 0:03:30of the magical sport created by JK Rowling's Harry Potter books,

0:03:30 > 0:03:36and try-outs for teams are already taking place.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38There are no flying balls, witches and wizards or broomsticks

0:03:38 > 0:03:42here, this is quiddich.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43Confused?

0:03:43 > 0:03:44Here are the rules.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47There are three tracers and a keeper who are trying

0:03:47 > 0:03:50to score with a quaffle, which is a slightly

0:03:50 > 0:03:52deflated volleyball, through one of three hoops.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54You can score either way through the hoop.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57There are two beaters, who are fighting for control of two

0:03:57 > 0:03:58of three dodgeballs.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01And lastly, there's the seeker, who is trying to catch the snitch,

0:04:01 > 0:04:03when the snitch is released onto the pitch at 17

0:04:03 > 0:04:04minutes of game time.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07This game is inspired by the sport played by Harry

0:04:07 > 0:04:09and his friends in JK Rowling's Harry Potter stories.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11It's now played in 25 countries all over the world.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14So, what makes a good quiddich player?

0:04:14 > 0:04:19The ability to laugh at yourself is always good.

0:04:19 > 0:04:23You can't take it too seriously, because at the end of the day

0:04:23 > 0:04:25we are running around with things between our legs.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28You've got to be athletic, sometimes games can go

0:04:28 > 0:04:30on for over an hour, just running up and down,

0:04:30 > 0:04:32sprinting back and forth.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35These guys are trying out for a new team that will be playing

0:04:35 > 0:04:39in the UK's quiddich Premier League this summer.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42This is a big deal, it's going to be taking the best players

0:04:42 > 0:04:45across the country together to form super-teams to play each other

0:04:45 > 0:04:47all throughout the summer, leading to a big event

0:04:47 > 0:04:50where the champion of the quiddich Premier League will be crowned.

0:04:50 > 0:04:54But why is the game so popular?

0:04:54 > 0:04:57It's very open and people are extremely nice.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00There's so many different positions, there's something to suit everyone.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03Like, I'm not so good at the physical side of it,

0:05:03 > 0:05:06I'm not clearly strong in any way.

0:05:06 > 0:05:10But I have got a decent throw on me, I can throw quite hard.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13With the right players, who knows, these guys just might be able

0:05:13 > 0:05:17to magic up a successful season.

0:05:17 > 0:05:19And finally, Newsrounders, start your engines, for another

0:05:19 > 0:05:21sport with a bit of a difference!

0:05:21 > 0:05:26Welcome to the lawn mower Ice Grand Prix in Finland,

0:05:26 > 0:05:29where competitors race against each other to complete as many laps

0:05:29 > 0:05:32of the track as possible within 12 hours riding on a giant lawn

0:05:32 > 0:05:33mower, of course.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36The race was held on a frozen lake this year, and temperatures

0:05:36 > 0:05:41were around minus four degrees Celsius, so just a bit nippy then!

0:05:41 > 0:05:44We'll leave you this morning with something a bit warmer.

0:05:44 > 0:05:45This Valentine's Day poem.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47Roses are red, Violets are blue,

0:05:47 > 0:05:52We've written this Valentine's Day article, Just for you!

0:05:52 > 0:05:52And it's online now.

0:05:52 > 0:05:55Enjoy your day.
