0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello, I'm Ayshah and this is Newsround.
0:00:05 > 0:00:11On the way...
0:00:11 > 0:00:14The quiet song that won Eurovision,
0:00:14 > 0:00:18Man City becoming Women's FA Cup champions
0:00:18 > 0:00:28and rare dragon ice spotted in the Antarctic.
0:00:30 > 0:00:33Eurovision didn't disappoint last night with glitz, glamour,
0:00:33 > 0:00:37unusual outfits and funny dancing, but the song that won
0:00:37 > 0:00:38was surprisingly simple.
0:00:38 > 0:00:45Here's how it all went down.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48The 62nd Eurovision Song contest did not disappoint for weird and
0:00:48 > 0:00:52wonderful acts.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54Italy's break dancing gorilla was one of the
0:00:54 > 0:00:59stranger performances of the night.
0:00:59 > 0:01:02Azerbaijan literally took it to another level with this
0:01:02 > 0:01:07man dressed as a horse.
0:01:07 > 0:01:08Yodelling from Romania.
0:01:08 > 0:01:12# Yodel-ei! #
0:01:12 > 0:01:18And Swedish treadmills kept the crowd dancing.
0:01:18 > 0:01:20But it was Portugal who took the title, winning
0:01:20 > 0:01:27Eurovision for the first time ever.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30The song performed by Salvador Sobral was simple
0:01:30 > 0:01:32and written by his sister.
0:01:32 > 0:01:36I think this could be a victory for music,
0:01:36 > 0:01:40with people that make music that actually means something.
0:01:40 > 0:01:42Music is not fireworks, music is feeling.
0:01:42 > 0:01:45So let's try to change this and bring music back
0:01:45 > 0:01:47which is really is what matters.
0:01:47 > 0:01:51Portuguese Eurovision fans were over the moon.
0:01:51 > 0:01:54Amazing!
0:01:54 > 0:01:55We deserved it.
0:01:55 > 0:01:56It will be amazing.
0:01:56 > 0:01:59It is like a dream come true.
0:01:59 > 0:02:03# I will never give up on you... #
0:02:03 > 0:02:07The UK came 15th with Lucie Jones' power ballad Never Give Up On You,
0:02:07 > 0:02:11the best British result in six years.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14# The oceans crash.... #
0:02:14 > 0:02:19I just didn't want to come last, so actually, I did really well.
0:02:19 > 0:02:23All in all, it has been another successful year for Eurovision.
0:02:23 > 0:02:28We would give it douze points.
0:02:28 > 0:02:31From Ukraine to France because there been a big ceremony in Paris
0:02:31 > 0:02:32for their new President Emmanuel Macron.
0:02:32 > 0:02:35It's the official start of him taking on the job.
0:02:35 > 0:02:39It's all happened at the Elysee Palace, with invited
0:02:39 > 0:02:41guests including Macron's family.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43He's one of the youngest Presidents France has
0:02:43 > 0:02:46had, at the age of 39.
0:02:46 > 0:02:50Manchester City have won the Women's FA Cup for the first time.
0:02:50 > 0:02:53City's women beat Birmingham 4-1 at Wembley Stadium.
0:02:53 > 0:02:56The goals came from Lucy Bronze, Izzy Christiansen,
0:02:56 > 0:02:58Carli Lloyd and Jill Scott.
0:02:58 > 0:03:02Captain Steph Houghton is delighted.
0:03:02 > 0:03:03What an amazing day.
0:03:03 > 0:03:06I do not think it will sink in for a few days yet,
0:03:06 > 0:03:07but obviously I dreamed of...
0:03:07 > 0:03:09You dream of playing at Wembley, you dream of representing
0:03:09 > 0:03:11Manchester City, you dream of captaining a team
0:03:11 > 0:03:14and lifting the FA Cup, so to say that and have
0:03:14 > 0:03:16all my family there and my boyfriend there
0:03:16 > 0:03:19is definitely a special moment.
0:03:19 > 0:03:22To this massive ship, which is on its first-ever voyage.
0:03:22 > 0:03:25It's sailed all the way from South East Asia and has now
0:03:25 > 0:03:26arrived at Southampton, here in the UK.
0:03:26 > 0:03:29Ricky's got this.
0:03:29 > 0:03:33The MOL Triumph.
0:03:33 > 0:03:38At 400 metres long, 58.8 metres wide, and 32.8 metres high,
0:03:38 > 0:03:44the Triumph is the biggest ship ever to dock in a UK port.
0:03:44 > 0:03:46So just how big is it?
0:03:46 > 0:03:50This is what it would look like sat behind a normal house.
0:03:50 > 0:03:53In fact, you can stack seven double-decker buses
0:03:53 > 0:03:56on top of each other, and they still would not be as tall.
0:03:56 > 0:04:01The deck is about as big as three football pitches, and it is so long,
0:04:01 > 0:04:04even Usain Bolt would take 45 seconds to run it from
0:04:04 > 0:04:06one end to the other.
0:04:06 > 0:04:07But why so big?
0:04:07 > 0:04:10The Triumph can carry more than 20,000 containers at once,
0:04:10 > 0:04:14which means it can deliver a lot of goods to the UK all in one go.
0:04:14 > 0:04:21As well as being super efficient, it is more environmentally friendly.
0:04:21 > 0:04:24The ship's maker says it causes less pollution than smaller boats.
0:04:24 > 0:04:26So this must be the biggest ship ever, right?
0:04:26 > 0:04:27Wrong!
0:04:27 > 0:04:30It has already been knocked down to second place,
0:04:30 > 0:04:37and we can expect lots more super ships on the way.
0:04:37 > 0:04:39OK, take a close look at this.
0:04:39 > 0:04:41It's ice, but not as you've ever seen it before.
0:04:41 > 0:04:44It's a massive sheet of ice that looks just like a dragon's scales.
0:04:44 > 0:04:46Here's Hayley.
0:04:46 > 0:04:49When you think of dragons, you probably think of hot,
0:04:49 > 0:04:52fire breathing and sharp teeth.
0:04:52 > 0:04:55But what about freezing cold ice?
0:04:55 > 0:04:59Well, some scientists on a research trip to Antarctica have
0:04:59 > 0:05:02spotted dragon-like ice, a rare type of sea ice that has not
0:05:02 > 0:05:04been seen in ten years.
0:05:04 > 0:05:08Sounds cool, but how did it all happen?
0:05:08 > 0:05:10Well, winds in the Antarctic can be extremely powerful,
0:05:10 > 0:05:14sometimes with the same force as a hurricane, and they are strong
0:05:14 > 0:05:19enough to pick up the ice on the surface as it freezes.
0:05:19 > 0:05:23This lets the cold air reach the water below, that also freezes,
0:05:23 > 0:05:26forming other layers of ice underneath.
0:05:26 > 0:05:28An intense amount of sea ice is being formed,
0:05:28 > 0:05:31in part due to the freezing temperatures, but mostly due
0:05:31 > 0:05:32to the very strong winds.
0:05:32 > 0:05:35These winds have the effect of pushing away the new sea ice.
0:05:35 > 0:05:38And when we can see layer upon layer of ice lying
0:05:38 > 0:05:42on top of each other, it creates a bumpy, scale-like
0:05:42 > 0:05:44pattern, like the skin of a dragon.
0:05:44 > 0:05:47The scientists who spotted it this time are calling
0:05:47 > 0:05:49the discovery "bizarre", but we think it is
0:05:49 > 0:05:53totally claw-some!
0:05:53 > 0:05:55That's all from the weekend team.
0:05:55 > 0:05:56Newsround's back tomorrow at 7:40.
0:05:56 > 0:06:03Bye!
0:06:06 > 0:06:08My Gym Teacher is An Alien Overlord is the Book of the Month this month.
0:06:08 > 0:06:11It's got everything from superpowers to school shoes and we want
0:06:11 > 0:06:12to know what you think about it.
0:06:12 > 0:06:15Who's your favourite character? What's the best bit?
