:00:34. > :00:35.The attack in the early hours of Sunday morning

:00:36. > :00:38.was the worst mass shooting in recent US history.

:00:39. > :00:41.Some people think rules around guns are to blame.

:00:42. > :00:48.Today marks the most deadly shooting in American history.

:00:49. > :00:52.This massacre is a further reminder of how easy it is for someone

:00:53. > :00:56.to get their hands on a weapon that lets them shoot people in a school,

:00:57. > :01:00.a place of worship, or a movie theatre or in a nightclub.

:01:01. > :01:08.And we need to decide if that's the country we want to be.

:01:09. > :01:09.That's the American President, Barack Obama,

:01:10. > :01:12.speaking after an attack in Orlando in the early hours of Sunday morning

:01:13. > :01:18.that killed 49 people and injured many more.

:01:19. > :01:21.It's not the first time he's spoken about the need for gun control.

:01:22. > :01:23.He's repeatedly made speeches like this every time there's been

:01:24. > :01:31.That's because masss shootings are a big problem in America.

:01:32. > :01:33.For every 100 people in the United States,

:01:34. > :01:36.there are around 90 guns - compared to only 6 for every 100

:01:37. > :01:45.In America, it's relatively easy to get a gun if you're over 18.

:01:46. > :01:49.The rules are much tougher in the UK.

:01:50. > :01:52.The right to what's known as "keep and bear arms" was written

:01:53. > :01:54.into American law within years of the country being

:01:55. > :01:59.Back then, America didn't have a well-established army

:02:00. > :02:10.and people felt it was important to have the right to carry a weapon

:02:11. > :02:12.to keep order or in case the country was attacked.

:02:13. > :02:15.the United States is a very different place

:02:16. > :02:18.but many people there still see the right to own a gun

:02:19. > :02:20.as an important part of being American -

:02:21. > :02:22.and as a way of protecting themselves.

:02:23. > :02:25.They argue that it's not the law that's at fault,

:02:26. > :02:29.but a small number of people who use guns in the wrong way.

:02:30. > :02:32.But others disagree and want the law to change,

:02:33. > :02:34.saying that if fewer people had access to guns,

:02:35. > :02:40.President Obama wants it to be much harder to buy a gun

:02:41. > :02:42.and wants tougher background checks

:02:43. > :02:47.and police to assess if a person is suitable to own the weapon.

:02:48. > :02:52.But with such fierce opinions on both sides,

:02:53. > :02:54.it will be difficult to make any changes.

:02:55. > :02:56.Remember, if anything you see in the news upsets you,

:04:06. > :04:08.because of the wildlife and the hot weather.

:04:16. > :04:17.The music, the dance, the celebrations we have here,

:04:18. > :04:24.The European Union is a bit like a club

:04:25. > :04:30.It is made up of 28 countries, who all have an agreement to make life

:04:31. > :04:34.as easy as possible for those that want to travel,

:04:35. > :04:40.And now there is a vote called a referendum

:04:41. > :04:44.on whether the UK should stay in or leave that club.

:04:45. > :04:46.And people are now asking what that might mean

:04:47. > :04:55.for the Brits that live in other EU countries.

:04:56. > :04:58.Those who want to stay in the European Union

:04:59. > :05:01.say it is easier to travel, live and work in countries

:05:02. > :05:10.Well, those that want to leave the EU

:05:11. > :05:13.say Brits living abroad would still be allowed

:05:14. > :05:17.to stay, and holidays to EU countries would not be affected.

:05:18. > :05:19.So what do kids from the UK who live here

:05:20. > :05:25.think the vote will mean for them?

:05:26. > :05:29.I think if we leave it will be a bit harder for my parents

:05:30. > :05:32.to do their job, because I have lived here for six years

:05:33. > :05:37.My dad might have to get a visa to go back to England and

:05:38. > :05:40.work here at the same time and it might just be a bit chaotic

:05:41. > :05:47.The community, with Europe and the UK, is very unique

:05:48. > :05:52.and I think we should keep it that way.

:05:53. > :05:55.I think it will also affect the friends travelling to Spain

:05:56. > :06:04.it might make it a bit harder for them.

:06:05. > :06:07.To be honest, I am not really too fussed about it

:06:08. > :06:09.because it doesn't affect me too much.

:06:10. > :06:12.As long as everything is fine at the end of the day,

:06:13. > :06:19.everyone is happy, then to be honest I don't really mind.
