0:00:38 > 0:00:44First up, the singer Ariana Grande is to become an honorary Mancunian.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46She's to get a Manchester citizenship even though

0:00:46 > 0:00:48she's from America.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51It's the city's way of saying thank you for Ariana's amazing work

0:00:51 > 0:00:55organising the One Love concert in Manchester, in aid of victims

0:00:55 > 0:00:58of the Arena bombing.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00And victims of the Manchester and London attacks were remembered

0:01:00 > 0:01:03in France yesterday.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05French players and fans showed solidarity with England,

0:01:05 > 0:01:08by joining in with the UK national anthem, followed by

0:01:08 > 0:01:12a minute's silence at a friendly football match.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Take a look at this!

0:01:14 > 0:01:16It's called an armyworm, and while it might look

0:01:16 > 0:01:19like something you'd see in your garden, they're a much more

0:01:19 > 0:01:22serious type of pest.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26Jenny's been finding out why they're being given their marching orders.

0:01:26 > 0:01:32Called fall armyworms but they're not worms at all,

0:01:32 > 0:01:33they're caterpillars.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Despite their size, they've been causing massive problems

0:01:35 > 0:01:36for people in Africa.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39They feed on a range of different crops but, in particular,

0:01:39 > 0:01:41on maize and sweetcorn.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44This is a very important crop in Africa because many farmers rely

0:01:44 > 0:01:47on maize to feed their families and to crush the corn

0:01:47 > 0:01:52to make maize flour, which is used in a lot of food.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54They have come to Africa from the Americas and their numbers

0:01:54 > 0:01:58are growing very fast, with females laying

0:01:58 > 0:02:00around 100 eggs a day.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03The pests started having an impact in West Africa

0:02:03 > 0:02:07on the end of last year, but since, they have spread.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11Scientists are warning that part of southern Africa already hit

0:02:11 > 0:02:14by drought are now facing another food crisis.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17So what can be done to stop them?

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Well, the usual method of controlling any insect pest

0:02:19 > 0:02:23is to rely on chemical pesticides.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Now, these can be effective.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27The downside is that they can also have negative effects

0:02:27 > 0:02:30on the environment.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34So not only did they kill the target pest insect,

0:02:34 > 0:02:38So not only do they kill the target pest insect,

0:02:38 > 0:02:41in this case the fall armyworm, but it can also kill beneficial

0:02:41 > 0:02:42insects like pollinators and predators that would normally

0:02:42 > 0:02:44control this pest.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47Another idea is to use the diseases that the worms are harmed

0:02:47 > 0:02:50by and spray them onto the plans, getting rid of the fall armyworms

0:02:50 > 0:02:53by and spray them onto the plants, getting rid of the fall armyworms

0:02:53 > 0:02:54but leaving other insects unharmed.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56In some small farms, farmers have been able to pick

0:02:56 > 0:03:00the armyworms off crops with their hands.

0:03:00 > 0:03:04But with the number of armyworms continuing to grow, scientists

0:03:04 > 0:03:08will have to find a solution fast to stop these pests

0:03:08 > 0:03:12from spreading even further.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Great Britain's number-one female tennis player, Johanna Konta,

0:03:15 > 0:03:20has reached a landmark in her career - with her 300th win.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Johanna was playing again fellow Brit Tara Moore and was leading 6-2,

0:03:23 > 0:03:26Johanna was playing against fellow Brit Tara Moore and was leading 6-2,

0:03:26 > 0:03:283-0 when Moore withdrew with an injured foot.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31Although she said it wasn't the best circumstances to win under,

0:03:31 > 0:03:34she was happy to reach the milestone.

0:03:34 > 0:03:35It was more surprising more than anything,

0:03:35 > 0:03:39I hadn't realised I was

0:03:39 > 0:03:41approaching that number so overall,

0:03:41 > 0:03:43it was a nice surprise at the end.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45Next up to hit drama series The Lodge.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48The show is filmed in Ballynahinch in Northern Ireland and Ayshah went

0:04:09 > 0:04:12# It's my time...

0:04:12 > 0:04:15It's filmed right here in the UK, in Northern Ireland.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18And they've invited me to see what they get up

0:04:18 > 0:04:20to on-set and off-screen.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23So, The Lodge is a teen musical mystery drama.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26It follows the story of my character, Skye, who's 15

0:04:26 > 0:04:30and she has moved from the city to her family's country lodge

0:04:30 > 0:04:32after the passing of her mother.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34The concert was a hit, the Lodge is doing great.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37When we are on set, and we are all working, you know,

0:04:37 > 0:04:40we could be working a 12-hour day and it could be cold, freezing,

0:04:40 > 0:04:43raining, it's kind of nice to just get a little bit of laughter

0:04:43 > 0:04:44in the day.

0:04:44 > 0:04:47We were just trying to knock these coconut off the stands with

0:04:47 > 0:04:49tennis balls at lunch,

0:04:49 > 0:04:51everyone just having like a wicked time.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53We do play a lot of table tennis.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55There's a piano, and Josh plays the piano,

0:04:55 > 0:04:57so he's always playing along.

0:04:57 > 0:04:58Who's best?

0:04:58 > 0:05:01We don't actually know.

0:05:01 > 0:05:04The hours are so long so we are there to support each other.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07Scripts and everything, I mean, sometimes it can get stressful but,

0:05:07 > 0:05:10you know, it's such a great cast.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13They are about to go for a take.

0:05:13 > 0:05:18Probably going to have to be really quiet in a moment.

0:05:18 > 0:05:21It's season two, and this season she gets to ride, and gets

0:05:21 > 0:05:23to do loads of sports, getting out there with the boys

0:05:23 > 0:05:25and getting dirty, and it's great.

0:05:25 > 0:05:27So this season, we explore different relationships.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31The music's amazing and the dance sequences are fantastic.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34My character comes in with a bit of mystery behind her, I would say.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37She is a massive tomboy as well, she rides a bike,

0:05:37 > 0:05:39she doesn't wear dresses.

0:05:39 > 0:05:41What is really nice about this series is everyone kind

0:05:41 > 0:05:44of has their own back stories and you learn a lot more about

0:05:44 > 0:05:45each person's different characters.
