:00:28. > :00:31.First up, a new day and a new Prime Minister.

:00:32. > :00:35.It's the first full day in the job for Theresa May.

:00:36. > :00:40.She took over from David Cameron last night and says she wants

:00:41. > :00:45.to build a UK for everyone. Here's what happened.

:00:46. > :00:49.We will make Britain a country that works not for a privileged few

:00:50. > :00:53.That was the moment the new Prime Minister

:00:54. > :00:56.walked into her new home, 10 Downing Street.

:00:57. > :01:03.Mrs May has taken over as Prime Minister.

:01:04. > :01:04.The last person in charge was David Cameron.

:01:05. > :01:07.He decided to resign after the big vote when the UK

:01:08. > :01:15.He is one of the youngest prime ministers this country has ever had.

:01:16. > :01:19.After six years and 62 days in Downing Street, and when you were

:01:20. > :01:21.probably having your tea, David Cameron said his final words

:01:22. > :01:25.It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve our country

:01:26. > :01:31.as Prime Minister over the last six years.

:01:32. > :01:34.Now, whenever there is a change of Prime Minister or Government,

:01:35. > :01:37.the person leaving and the one taking over have to go

:01:38. > :01:44.David Cameron, his wife and children went to Buckingham Palace

:01:45. > :01:48.to see Her Majesty and officially stepped down from his job.

:01:49. > :01:50.Theresa May was next to see the Queen and that

:01:51. > :01:55.She became the new Conservative Prime Minister.

:01:56. > :01:58.Mrs May left the palace and returned to 10 Downing Street,

:01:59. > :02:01.where she started picking her top team.

:02:02. > :02:03.One is Boris Johnson, who many thought would be

:02:04. > :02:10.Now she is there, she will start work as only the UK's second

:02:11. > :02:18.Sorting out how the UK leaves the European Union.

:02:19. > :02:21.But don't worry about Larry, the Downing Street cat, he will be

:02:22. > :02:29.Next, something BIG is happening beneath the streets of London.

:02:30. > :02:31.Deep underground the UK is buiilding a giant new underground

:02:32. > :02:35.Here's CBBC's super scientific reporter Fran Scott on what goes

:02:36. > :02:39.I'm right in the centre of London at Farringdon station.

:02:40. > :02:43.And it might look like everything is normal here but beneath my feet,

:02:44. > :02:45.the biggest building project in Europe is going

:02:46. > :02:57.The massive project to build this new train line for London

:02:58. > :03:00.And in the summer of 2012, while London was hosting

:03:01. > :03:02.the Olympics, massive machines started digging.

:03:03. > :03:05.It has taken well over 20,000 workers, over 100 million hours

:03:06. > :03:08.of work, and they've had to move millions of tonnes of mud

:03:09. > :03:17.The digging finally finished right here, where the tunnelling machine,

:03:18. > :03:20.called Victoria, broke through to reach this -

:03:21. > :03:25.what will become the new Farringdon underground station.

:03:26. > :03:28.Now, they're working on getting seven new stations ready to open

:03:29. > :03:37.So, how do you go from this...to this?

:03:38. > :03:42.Chloe is one of many engineers working to make that happen.

:03:43. > :03:45.So, an essential part of any railway is the actual track.

:03:46. > :03:49.We're going to lay ours right here where we are walking.

:03:50. > :03:52.So we won't be able to walk here in the future?

:03:53. > :03:54.No - trains will be running through this tunnel,

:03:55. > :03:59.picking up passengers and taking them to their destinations.

:04:00. > :04:02.Chloe, this looks incredible. What is it?

:04:03. > :04:04.This is a temporary shaft, it won't be part of

:04:05. > :04:09.We use them during construction to bring materials in and out

:04:10. > :04:11.quickly and safely. You just crane them in?

:04:12. > :04:16.Yeah, pretty much. That's brilliant!

:04:17. > :04:19.This is one of our escalator tunnels here at Farringdon.

:04:20. > :04:22.What you can see now is the final concrete lining being put on top

:04:23. > :04:30.This will eventually be one of the access points into the tunnel.

:04:31. > :04:32.There are lots of parts that make up a working station,

:04:33. > :04:36.but this one will not be ready for us to use for another 2-3 years.

:04:37. > :04:40.Which is a good job because there are still lots to do.

:04:41. > :04:53.To footy - and could this man be the next England manager?

:04:54. > :04:55.He's Sam Allardyce, current manager of Premier League club Sunderland.

:04:56. > :04:58.If the English Football Association like his grand plan -

:04:59. > :05:00.he'll pick up from where Roy Hodgson left off -

:05:01. > :05:03.after England were knocked out of Euro 2016 by Iceland.

:05:04. > :05:15.But Sunderland say they want their manager to stay.
