:00:19. > :00:24.I'm Leah live with a Newsround so action-packed you'll be talking

:00:24. > :00:27.about it in class tomorrow, I promise. So much to get through.

:00:27. > :00:29.Watch out for some of this. We find out why Britain's booming

:00:29. > :00:38.deer population could be causing problems.

:00:38. > :00:41.And what next for David Beckham? First, when you think of space, you

:00:41. > :00:44.think of NASA's Space Shuttle. But now it's time to get to know team

:00:44. > :00:48.Soyuz. This morning the Russian rocket started its mission to the

:00:48. > :00:51.International Space Station. It's now the only way astronauts from

:00:51. > :00:54.around the world can get there. Two Russian cosmonauts and one

:00:54. > :01:04.astronaut from America are well on their way after taking off from

:01:04. > :01:07.

:01:07. > :01:14.Kazakhstan earlier today. Two, one, zero, and liftoff - the final

:01:14. > :01:17.liftoff of Atlantis. For years, space launches have looked like

:01:17. > :01:20.this. NASA's shuttles became international icons - the A-List of

:01:20. > :01:24.the space world. For 30 years they sent astronauts back and forth to

:01:24. > :01:30.the International Space Station. But just over two months ago the

:01:30. > :01:34.shuttle programme ended. It was too expensive. Hang on. There are still

:01:34. > :01:42.astronauts floating about in the space station 250 miles above Earth.

:01:42. > :01:46.So how are we going to get them back down?! Well, this is the

:01:46. > :01:51.answer. Today the Russian Space Agency launched the Soyuz rocket

:01:51. > :01:56.from a very cold Kazakstan. Onboard are an astronaut and two cosmonauts.

:01:56. > :02:00.They've spent the last couple of months in training. This morning's

:02:00. > :02:10.launch was tense. In August a similar unmanned rocket launched by

:02:10. > :02:12.

:02:12. > :02:16.the Russian Space Agency crashed shortly after take-off. Russia

:02:16. > :02:18.suspended all manned missions until they got to the bottom of what

:02:18. > :02:23.happened. They're due to return to earth at

:02:23. > :02:27.the end of November. If today's launch hadn't gone ahead, it would

:02:27. > :02:32.have caused major problems. They would haves been forced to use an

:02:32. > :02:34.emergency rocket to get home, leaving a floating science lab

:02:35. > :02:41.unmanned for the first time in a decade.

:02:41. > :02:51.So far things have gone to plan. The Soyuz will arrive in two days'

:02:51. > :02:53.time equipped with supplies to keep the space station going.

:02:53. > :02:57.Other news around today: Rescue teams have finally pumped

:02:57. > :03:00.all the oil off of a cargo ship that crashed into a reef off New

:03:00. > :03:03.Zealand nearly six weeks ago. More than 300 tonnes of oil poured into

:03:03. > :03:07.the sea when the ship got stuck, killing more than a thousand sea

:03:07. > :03:10.birds. Bad weather has made things tough, but officials say all the

:03:10. > :03:12.oil has now been removed and a crane is being sent to remove the

:03:12. > :03:15.ship's cargo. Now to one of the best loved

:03:15. > :03:19.animals in the British countryside - deer. You might think hearing

:03:19. > :03:22.news that more of them living in the wild in Britain would be a good

:03:22. > :03:25.thing. But Joe's been finding out why some people think that's not

:03:25. > :03:30.necessarily the case. They're one of the most elgamt

:03:30. > :03:35.animals in the country, a symbol of the great British outdoors. The

:03:35. > :03:39.number of deer living in the wild has risen massively. There are now

:03:39. > :03:49.more in the UK than at any other time in the last 1,000 years. It's

:03:49. > :03:54.around two million of them. It's great news for the tear, but -- dee,

:03:55. > :03:58.but it looks like not other animals. What these gries really good at is

:03:59. > :04:06.finding the foods they really like to eat, which is Brambles and

:04:06. > :04:13.leaves, which is bad news for those that like to use these to make

:04:13. > :04:19.nests. It looks like the birds are suffering. Species like Nightingale

:04:19. > :04:27.- that's one species that relies on its habitat for nesting, other

:04:27. > :04:31.species, for example, bluetit for speeding, so are moval can have a

:04:31. > :04:38.big impact. Conservationists say it's not just down to the dee, but

:04:38. > :04:41.it says this is the clearest sign the two are linked. They're now

:04:41. > :04:44.trying to make sure that the animals can live side by side.

:04:44. > :04:47.Thank you. Also today, Lewis Hamilton gave his

:04:47. > :04:50.mum a birthday present she'll never forget by winning the Abu Dhabi

:04:50. > :04:53.Grand Prix. The McClaren driver raced into the lead after a

:04:53. > :04:56.puncture on the first lap forced world champion Sebastian Vettel to

:04:56. > :04:59.quit. Lewis was thrilled to win, especially as his mum was there to

:04:59. > :05:03.watch him. Let's talk David Beckham now. His

:05:03. > :05:06.contract with LA Galaxy runs out very soon. So he could be on the

:05:06. > :05:09.look-out for a new job. No doubt it'll spark a massive race to sign

:05:09. > :05:19.him. And it's got everyone gossiping about where he might end

:05:19. > :05:20.

:05:20. > :05:24.up. He's had more hairstyles than I could fit in a barbershop,

:05:24. > :05:29.currently lives in star-studded Hollywood. He's played in England,

:05:29. > :05:34.Spain, Italy and in America and picked up six Premiere League

:05:34. > :05:39.titles two, FA Cups, a Champions' League medal and thela leaguega

:05:39. > :05:43.title in his time, but it seems he isn't quite ready to hang up his

:05:43. > :05:50.boots, and his Galaxy contract runs out any time now. Stkwhroom going

:05:50. > :05:56.to know when I need to finish. That's not yet. Where could he go?

:05:56. > :06:03.He could stay in America where his wife, Victoria, has become a

:06:03. > :06:07.successful fashion steiner. But QPR and Tottenham would welcome him. He

:06:07. > :06:11.even trained with Spurs earlier this year. There are rumours France

:06:12. > :06:15.could be the next stop in his world tour. They have loads of manage and

:06:15. > :06:21.might just tempt him with another crack at the Champions' League. He

:06:21. > :06:24.wants to keep playing long enough to fulfil another dream -

:06:24. > :06:29.representing Team GB at the 2012 Olympics. We all treatment and

:06:29. > :06:35.think about it. If it happens, I would be honoured. At 36, he hasn't

:06:35. > :06:39.long left as a player, but you never know. With his Hollywood

:06:39. > :06:44.contracts, when he does call it a game, he wouldn't rule out a career

:06:44. > :06:47.as a movie star. The name's Bond, James Bond.

:06:47. > :06:50.Finally, if you didn't see it last night, here's another chance to see

:06:50. > :06:53.Kitty's exit from the X Factor. The former Lady Gaga impersonator got

:06:53. > :06:57.booted off the show after losing out in a sing-off with Misha B.

:06:57. > :07:04.Three of the judges decided to send her home, but it's no surprise she

:07:04. > :07:11.didn't go quietly. # I'm beautiful in my way

:07:11. > :07:19.# Because God makes no mistakes # I'm on the right track, baby

:07:19. > :07:22.# I was born this way! # In case you missed Demot's reaction there,

:07:22. > :07:26.here it is again. And that's all we've got time for
