:00:00. > :00:00.Hi, I'm Ayshah. Today on Newsround we'll be talking about some sad news

:00:00. > :00:20.This morning, to sad news from Paris, the capital city of France,

:00:21. > :00:31.London, New York, in the US and Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.

:00:32. > :00:35.Just some of the cities, around the world, turning big

:00:36. > :00:39.buildings red, white, and blue - the colours of the French flag, to show

:00:40. > :00:46.It's happening because of attacks in the French capital city, that

:00:47. > :00:54.Sadly over one hundred people have died.

:00:55. > :00:55.The French President, Francois Hollande,

:00:56. > :01:07.And later these terrorists that capable of such atrocities, they

:01:08. > :01:10.need to know that they will be confronted by a France that is

:01:11. > :01:11.determined unified and pull together.

:01:12. > :01:13.Our Prime Minister, David Cameron said he's shocked,

:01:14. > :01:16.that his thoughts and prayers are with the French people, and that we

:01:17. > :01:19.Other world leaders, including US President, Barack Obama,

:01:20. > :01:34.We stand prepared and ready to provide whatever assistance that the

:01:35. > :01:39.people of France needs to respond. France is our oldest ally. The

:01:40. > :01:43.French people have stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States time

:01:44. > :01:47.and again and we want to be very clear that we stand together with

:01:48. > :01:50.them in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

:01:51. > :01:52.The streets of Paris are quiet this morning.

:01:53. > :01:55.The police and the army continue to work hard to help keep people safe.

:01:56. > :02:00.Jenny's with me now. Do we know yet who might have done this?

:02:01. > :02:03.We've just heard that a radical Islamist group that calls

:02:04. > :02:06.itself Islamic State has said that it carried out the attacks.

:02:07. > :02:09.French President Francois Hollande also thinks that Islamic State were

:02:10. > :02:14.We've got lots of information on that group, where they came

:02:15. > :02:17.from and why some people join them over on our website.

:02:18. > :02:20.And we've all seen this sad news this morning, what should you do if

:02:21. > :02:30.It is natural to feel sad when things like this happen, and

:02:31. > :02:33.remember this sort of event is very rare which is why it's on the news.

:02:34. > :02:36.The important thing if you're upset is to talk to an adult,

:02:37. > :02:45.And there's much more advice on our website.

:03:16. > :03:18.but that's exactly what Hayley managed to do earlier this week.

:03:19. > :03:21.She was in Moscow in Russia to speak to Major Tim Peake.

:03:22. > :03:24.They chatted about the training he's been doing ahead of his trip to

:03:25. > :03:26.the International Space station, which blasts off next month.

:03:27. > :03:29.We asked you for questions for Tim and he answered as many

:03:30. > :03:48.How do you feel about being the first British astronaut to head to

:03:49. > :03:52.the International Space Station? I am proud to be the first Brit to go

:03:53. > :03:54.to the space station, I was also really inspired by Helen Sharman,

:03:55. > :04:01.the first British astronaut in space.

:04:02. > :04:05.Max, going to space takes a long time to plan and prepare for, I was

:04:06. > :04:09.assigned to have years ago. That is how long I have been training but I

:04:10. > :04:16.have been an astronaut for six years and all of that time has been

:04:17. > :04:22.training and preparing for space. I need most of the food we eat in

:04:23. > :04:25.space which is a set menu that is given to us but we have a small

:04:26. > :04:30.percentage called bonus food, this is the exciting food that Heston

:04:31. > :04:39.Blumenthal has prepared for us which we are really looking forward to.

:04:40. > :04:44.I am most looking forward to the view of planet F, we have a

:04:45. > :04:51.wonderful at facing window, so to go there and actually watch the ethical

:04:52. > :04:55.buy at 17,000 mph will be wonderful. One of what -- what am

:04:56. > :04:57.most spreading? Not having a hot shower for six months.

:04:58. > :04:59.Next, it was a record breaking night for

:05:00. > :05:03.All of your fantastic fundraising helped raise more than ?37 million,

:05:04. > :05:10.One Direction, Ellie Goulding and Star Wars favourites C3PO and R2-D2

:05:11. > :05:13.were among the many stars featuring in last nights extravaganza.

:05:14. > :05:16.The show was hosted by Dermot O'Leary - he stood in for

:05:17. > :05:19.Sir Terry Wogan, who had to miss the show for the first time
