:00:09. > :00:22.This afternoon, to sad news from Paris, the capital city of France,

:00:23. > :00:32.London, New York in the US, and Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.

:00:39. > :00:43.buildings red, white, and blue - the colours of the French flag - to show

:00:44. > :00:51.It's happening because of attacks in the French capital city that

:00:52. > :00:53.started just after 9:00pm last night.

:00:54. > :00:56.The French President, Francois Hollande,

:00:57. > :01:02.These terrorists that are capable of such atrocities need to know

:01:03. > :01:04.they will be confronted by a France that is determined,

:01:05. > :01:11.Our Prime Minister, David Cameron said he's shocked, but

:01:12. > :01:16.Our hearts go out to the French people and to all those who lost

:01:17. > :01:23.Today, the British and French people stand

:01:24. > :01:27.together, as we so often have in our history when confronted by evil.

:01:28. > :01:29.Other world leaders, including US President, Barack Obama,

:01:30. > :01:36.We stand prepared and ready to provide whatever assistance that

:01:37. > :01:41.the government and the people of France need to respond.

:01:42. > :01:47.The French people have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the people

:01:48. > :01:51.of the United States time and again, and we want to be very clear that

:01:52. > :01:57.we stand with them in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

:01:58. > :02:00.The streets of Paris are quiet this morning.

:02:01. > :02:05.The police and the army continue to work hard to help keep people safe.

:02:06. > :02:14.The radical Islamist group that calls itself Islamic State has said

:02:15. > :02:19.French President Francois Hollande also thinks that Islamic State were

:02:20. > :02:25.We've got lots of information on that group, where they came

:02:30. > :02:31.And we've all seen this sad news this morning.

:02:32. > :02:34.What should you do if you feel upset by what you've heard?

:02:35. > :02:37.It is natural to feel sad when things like this happen, and
