:00:11. > :00:15.We've got Wednesday's top stories on the way for you. This is Newsround

:00:16. > :00:18.with me Ricky. Coming up: Players are really feeling the heat down

:00:19. > :00:21.under, while bush fires blaze nearby. Why One Direction's Liam has

:00:22. > :00:26.had to say sorry for doing something "stupid".

:00:27. > :00:33.And a kayaker's near-miss with a 20-tonne whale.

:00:34. > :00:36.But first to a row about apps on smartphones that turn plastic

:00:37. > :00:44.surgery into a game, which a charity has said are "dangerous". Players

:00:45. > :00:47.are presented with a figure of a girl and are invited to "fix" her,

:00:48. > :00:51.making her thinner using surgery techniques. Apple and Google have

:00:52. > :00:54.removed a version aimed at kids aged nine and older, but a very similar

:00:55. > :00:57.version is still available aimed at kids aged 12 and above and the

:00:58. > :01:02.eating disorder charity B-Eat told us today that's sending a bad

:01:03. > :01:08.message. We are very concerned about this app

:01:09. > :01:11.because we know how dangerous it can be for young people to feel bad

:01:12. > :01:17.about themselves and their bodies. We don't see how this can do

:01:18. > :01:22.anything but add to their securities. It is dangerous. In

:01:23. > :01:28.order to get an app onto the store, it does have to be approved, what do

:01:29. > :01:33.you think about that? If this really has gone through an approval

:01:34. > :01:35.process, I don't think it is rigorous enough. I don't think it

:01:36. > :01:39.has taken into account, enough of the serious consequences that can

:01:40. > :01:45.come from people having access to this. We are not in favour of people

:01:46. > :01:53.banning things but they should have a more responsible attitude.

:01:54. > :01:55.Google told us earlier that they "don't comment on individual apps,

:01:56. > :01:57.but will remove apps that breach guidelines". We've asked Apple

:01:58. > :02:01.several times today about whether they feel the Plastic Surgery game

:02:02. > :02:05.is appropriate for kids to play, but we've so far heard nothing back.

:02:06. > :02:09.Next, Liam Payne's had to apologise after a pick was posted on Twitter

:02:10. > :02:13.of him balancing on the edge of a balcony, hundreds of feet up a tall

:02:14. > :02:15.building. The pic's now been taken down, but afterwards the One

:02:16. > :02:33.Direction star tweeted: Next we're heading Down Under where

:02:34. > :02:36.a heat wave is causing trouble at the Australian Open tennis

:02:37. > :02:38.tournament, which is taking place in the city of Melbourne. Scorching

:02:39. > :02:42.temperatures of more than 40 Celsius have led to players and spectators

:02:43. > :02:51.fainting, and there are warnings of bushfires in the countryside nearby.

:02:52. > :02:59.Martin's been looking into it. I was fainting. The wind was hot. I'd put

:03:00. > :03:04.the bottle down on the court and it started melting. It is tough,

:03:05. > :03:07.challenging conditions. The world's hottest tennis players

:03:08. > :03:15.are feeling the heat at the Australian Open. Canadian player

:03:16. > :03:17.Frank Dancevic fainted on court on Tuesday and needed medical

:03:18. > :03:21.attention. As did some spectators and a ball boy. Dancevic has

:03:22. > :03:23.complained that it's "inhumane" of organisers to make players compete

:03:24. > :03:29.in such intense heat. And today Ivan Dodig from Croatia said he feared he

:03:30. > :03:32.could have died in the heat during his second round match. It is the

:03:33. > :03:37.hard courts they are playing on in Melbourne. It has the heat coming up

:03:38. > :03:39.from the floor. Officials look at a combination of temperature, humidity

:03:40. > :03:43.and wind speed before deciding whether to stop play. So far they

:03:44. > :03:51.haven't. But Andy Murray says even players aren't clear on what the

:03:52. > :03:56.rules actually are. They do some wet bulb reading, which I don't know

:03:57. > :04:00.what that means. No one does, so maybe that has to change. Even at

:04:01. > :04:03.night, it's stayed above 30 Celsius in Melbourne - that's about the same

:04:04. > :04:09.as our hottest summer temperatures last year. This is a series of

:04:10. > :04:16.public health issue. There are serious consequences from extreme

:04:17. > :04:21.heat. Lightening sparked more than 250 fires in Victoria last night.

:04:22. > :04:26.People have been trying to keep cool where ever they can. These horses

:04:27. > :04:30.took a dip in the sea. But the forecast is not good, the extreme

:04:31. > :04:36.temperatures are not expected to fall until the weekend.

:04:37. > :04:40.If you're out kayaking in the sea, it's generally a good idea to steer

:04:41. > :04:45.clear of a 20-tonne whale. But take a look at what happened to this

:04:46. > :04:50.kayaker in Norway last week. A humpback whale came up for air right

:04:51. > :04:53.next to his kayak! He said he didn't realise he was sitting on the

:04:54. > :04:56.whale's back and didn't have time to be afraid. Luckily, the big mammal

:04:57. > :05:01.swam off after the close encounter. Make sure you go to the website to

:05:02. > :05:03.read about the Lions under threat in West Africa and check out our
