0:00:10 > 0:00:11Hey, everyone, I'm Ayshah.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14This morning, Newsround is looking at the big vote that's got

0:00:14 > 0:00:16the whole country talking.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18In eight days' time, adults are being asked to decide

0:00:18 > 0:00:21if the UK should stay in, or leave a club of countries

0:00:21 > 0:00:23called the European Union.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25So Ricky's travelled to Poland to find out more

0:00:25 > 0:00:33about one of the biggest issues - immigration.

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Welcome to Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41It's a really busy city, around 2 million people live here.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44There are loads of tourists, coffee shops and interesting buildings.

0:00:44 > 0:00:49And behind me is the old town, completely devastated by bombing

0:00:49 > 0:00:54during the Second World War, and over time it's been rebuilt.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56Just like the UK, Poland is a member of the European Union,

0:00:56 > 0:00:59otherwise known as the EU.

0:00:59 > 0:01:03Over the last 12 years, since they joined the group

0:01:03 > 0:01:05of countries, hundreds of thousands of people have left Poland

0:01:05 > 0:01:06and moved to the UK.

0:01:06 > 0:01:09That's called immigration, when people decide

0:01:09 > 0:01:11to go to a different country to live and work.

0:01:11 > 0:01:15More on that in just a little bit, but first I have been travelling

0:01:15 > 0:01:19around Warsaw and speaking to kids about what life is like

0:01:19 > 0:01:23here in Poland and what they think of the UK.

0:01:23 > 0:01:27We're heading to Warsaw, which is the capital of Poland.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29'The seat belt signs have been switched on.'

0:01:29 > 0:01:33I think that Poland is beautiful.

0:01:33 > 0:01:38There is amazing food and amazing views.

0:01:38 > 0:01:42A lot of hard-working people.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44Cold in winter, hot in summer.

0:01:44 > 0:01:48I love my country, I want to stay here for my life.

0:01:48 > 0:01:55Since Poland joined the EU in 2004 thousands of people have moved

0:01:55 > 0:01:58from here to the United Kingdom.

0:01:58 > 0:02:03It is thought there are almost 800,000 Poles living in the UK.

0:02:03 > 0:02:07That's because there's an agreement between all the countries

0:02:07 > 0:02:11inside the European Union to make it easier for people to move around,

0:02:11 > 0:02:14live and work in other EU countries.

0:02:14 > 0:02:21I actually love the United Kingdom, and I would love

0:02:21 > 0:02:22to one day be there.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24London is really beautiful and one of the most important

0:02:24 > 0:02:25cities on the Earth.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27When I think of the UK, I think

0:02:27 > 0:02:28of British accents.

0:02:28 > 0:02:29Top Gear.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31The Beatles.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32The weather is rainy.

0:02:32 > 0:02:33One Direction.

0:02:33 > 0:02:38Tea, a cup of tea.

0:02:38 > 0:02:43So, back to that big vote.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Well, a lot is being said on both sides when it comes to immigration.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Campaigners who want the UK to leave the European Union say the number

0:02:50 > 0:02:54of people arriving from other EU countries, including Poland,

0:02:54 > 0:02:58is getting out of control.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Those who want the UK to stay in, disagree.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03They say immigrants do help pay towards things like hospitals,

0:03:03 > 0:03:07schools and other public services.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10Leave campaigners believe that if we quit the EU,

0:03:10 > 0:03:13the UK will have more control over who can enter the country.

0:03:13 > 0:03:18But the Remain camp say that isn't true.

0:03:18 > 0:03:22Over the last few weeks, you may have heard loads

0:03:22 > 0:03:27of different arguments about what might happen if the UK

0:03:27 > 0:03:30was to leave or stay in the European Union.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33No one knows exactly what would happen, but those big

0:03:33 > 0:03:36decisions could have a big impact on you, and other children

0:03:36 > 0:03:39in the EU club of countries.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Well, I've been speaking to teams here in Warsaw to find

0:03:42 > 0:03:44out what they think.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46THEY SPEAK POLISH

0:03:46 > 0:03:51Welcome to Poland.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53What you think people in the UK think of Polish people?

0:03:53 > 0:04:00I think that the English people should see Polish people as smart,

0:04:00 > 0:04:06funny and always smiling.

0:04:06 > 0:04:12They think that we are not polite, not nice, they are thinking this

0:04:12 > 0:04:15about us, but it's not true.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18I have been studying English from kindergarten and I would love

0:04:18 > 0:04:20to live there.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23I actually want to stay and study in Poland.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27My uncle, he works in a coffee shop.

0:04:27 > 0:04:32Life in England is more comfortable.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34It's so good that we are in this European Union

0:04:34 > 0:04:38and it's all a community.

0:04:38 > 0:04:46If the UK would leave the EU, it would affect us a lot.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49That's all from me here in Poland.

0:04:49 > 0:04:52Make sure you come back at 8:15 for the next

0:04:52 > 0:04:54stop in my EU road trip, where I'll be exploring what impact

0:04:54 > 0:04:59immigration is having back home in the UK.
