0:00:03 > 0:00:06Good morning, I'm Hayley and I've got your morning Newsround.

0:00:06 > 0:00:08Coming up:

0:00:08 > 0:00:11The real life tiny dragons.

0:00:11 > 0:00:15The helpers on hand at London's fire.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25First, the fire brigade are still working to make

0:00:25 > 0:00:29a tower block that caught fire yesterday safe.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31The Grenfell Tower in North Kensington in west London

0:00:31 > 0:00:36caught fire early on Wednesday morning and experts are still trying

0:00:36 > 0:00:39to find out what happened.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46The fire started just before one o'clock in the morning.

0:00:46 > 0:00:51Emergency services arrived at the scene within six minutes,

0:00:51 > 0:00:54with 40 fire engines and 200 firefighters coming to help get

0:00:54 > 0:00:59people out safely and get the fire under control.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02The London Fire Brigade said they were able to rescue

0:01:02 > 0:01:05lots of people but, sadly, some have died and more than 70

0:01:05 > 0:01:13people have been taken to hospital.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15When fires start in flats like these, they don't usually

0:01:15 > 0:01:17spread between the floors of a block.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20Police are now investigating how the fire happened to make sure it

0:01:20 > 0:01:21doesn't happen again.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24People who live near the flats have been doing what they can to help.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26Emergency centres have opened for those who can't go home,

0:01:26 > 0:01:29with people bringing food, drink, clothes and toiletries

0:01:29 > 0:01:33and donating money for those who have lost everything.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36Supplies have also been donated to police and fire crews who have

0:01:36 > 0:01:38worked through the night.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40The Member of Parliament for Kensington said every

0:01:40 > 0:01:46single person affected will be looked after.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48People from all over London have been bringing water,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50blankets and even toys for those people who've lost

0:01:50 > 0:01:54everything in the fire.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Newsround's been speaking to some kids who've been helping out.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00I came here with some food for them and some old toys

0:02:00 > 0:02:02I don't play with any more.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06I feel bad for them because there they are going to be homeless

0:02:06 > 0:02:09but I'm actually kind of happy that people have been bringing

0:02:09 > 0:02:13lots of food and toys and stuff for the babies

0:02:13 > 0:02:15and, like, the kids.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18So I'm proud of that.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22I've got some fruit, I've got some food, I went

0:02:22 > 0:02:27to the church and I started giving out some free food, like,

0:02:27 > 0:02:31for the homeless people.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33I came down here because I felt sorry for the people

0:02:33 > 0:02:35who died or got injured.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39I have clothes in the car that I was going to give to the people

0:02:39 > 0:02:41who have lost theirs.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43Later on, I'm going to get some of my things from home,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46and I'm going to donate...

0:02:46 > 0:02:48There are people that don't have anything anymore.

0:02:48 > 0:02:52It is good that people are coming together to help the people in need.

0:02:52 > 0:02:56And for more on this story, or for advice if you are upset

0:02:56 > 0:02:59by the news, go online now.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02Next to Australia, where scientists are trying to save a unique animal

0:03:02 > 0:03:05called the Weedy Sea Dragon.

0:03:05 > 0:03:11There are worries the creatures are now endangered.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13Whitney's been finding out more.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16Not far off the coast of Sydney in Australia is what's known

0:03:16 > 0:03:19as dragon territory.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23People diving here will find strange and beautiful creatures living

0:03:23 > 0:03:25amongst the seaweed.

0:03:25 > 0:03:29The locals call these guys weedies, otherwise known

0:03:29 > 0:03:31as Weedy Sea Dragons.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34Native to the coast around Australia, they are related to sea

0:03:34 > 0:03:38horses and spend their time drifting in the water, blending

0:03:38 > 0:03:42in with the seaweed around them.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45The problem is, these colourful creatures are becoming harder

0:03:45 > 0:03:50and harder to spot and not just because of their clever camouflage.

0:03:50 > 0:03:54This is the best side in Sydney, you can still see them alive.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Other sides, particularly on the north side of Sydney,

0:03:57 > 0:03:58where they used to be a common occurrence,

0:03:58 > 0:04:08you're lucky to find one and sometimes you find none.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11Marine biologists have come up with a clever plan to work out how

0:04:11 > 0:04:12many weedies are left.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14They are asking divers to snap a picture of

0:04:14 > 0:04:15the creatures and send them in.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18The researchers are then using a kind of facial recognition

0:04:18 > 0:04:22software to identify each fish's unique patterns.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25Every time they identify a new weedy, they give it a name

0:04:25 > 0:04:28to help keep track of it, kind of like a Facebook for weedies.

0:04:28 > 0:04:32And it will tell us if it is David or Greg or Alicia, because every

0:04:32 > 0:04:35single new sea dragon that we have gets a name so we can follow

0:04:35 > 0:04:40it over the years.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Weedy Sea Dragons are classified as near-threatened

0:04:43 > 0:04:47but the scientists reckon this research could provide enough info

0:04:47 > 0:04:51to have them relisted as endangered, which is more serious.

0:04:51 > 0:04:56Scientists believe climate change could be a big part

0:04:56 > 0:04:58of the problem for weedies.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00They say rising sea temperatures are killing the seaweed,

0:05:00 > 0:05:03which leaves them homeless.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06Once we lose them, we will never get them back.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08They were here hundreds of thousands of years ago.

0:05:08 > 0:05:13With our impact, losing them would be really sad.

0:05:13 > 0:05:17So if you find yourself diving in Australia,

0:05:17 > 0:05:20snap a picture to make sure there are plenty of little weedies

0:05:20 > 0:05:27swimming around in the future.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29Two British Champions met on the court yesterday

0:05:29 > 0:05:31in the run up to Wimbledon.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34It was just for fun but world tennis number one Andy Murray and world

0:05:34 > 0:05:38heavyweight boxing champ Antony Joshua met up

0:05:38 > 0:05:40for a game of doubles.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Andy will start defending his Wimbledon title

0:05:43 > 0:05:45in just over two weeks.

0:05:45 > 0:05:51I think it'll be a bit tougher than that, Andy.

0:05:51 > 0:05:58That's all from me,

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Newsround's back at 4:20.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09Good morning! Happy Music Day!

0:06:09 > 0:06:11# Thank you for the music
