:00:00. > :00:00.Hi guys, Ricky here this Friday morning with
:00:00. > :00:08.everything you need to know about these kilobots on the way.
:00:09. > :00:18.And why this celebration cost this athlete a gold medal.
:00:19. > :00:21.But first the Premier League says it's cracking down on fans who film
:00:22. > :00:24.footy highlights on their phones and upload them online.
:00:25. > :00:27.With a day to go till the start of the season league bosses are

:02:10. > :02:14.Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have spent a combined total of over ?120
:02:15. > :02:19.million, that means superstars such as Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas
:02:20. > :02:24.and Diego Costa will be coming to a ground near you soon.
:02:25. > :02:27.And don't forget about the newly promoted teams, Leicester,
:02:28. > :02:34.If you thought last season was exciting,
:02:35. > :02:40.Be prepared for the sackings, skills, heartbreak,
:02:41. > :02:49.Next to the swarm of a thousand robots created
:02:50. > :02:54.Robotics experts at Harvard University studied the way
:02:55. > :02:57.animals and insect work together as a group and used this as inspiration
:02:58. > :03:03.to design a troop of mini-bots that move and communicate together.
:03:04. > :03:07.This swarm of robots can form different shapes without humans
:03:08. > :03:14.In the animal kingdom, insects, birds and fish work as part
:03:15. > :03:17.of a team to find food and protect each other.
:03:18. > :03:19.These robots have been designed to do the same.
:03:20. > :03:23.They interact with each other to form these patterns.
:03:24. > :03:27.Each kilobot, as they're called, is the size of a penny.
:03:28. > :03:30.To create something like this, four lead robots are placed where
:03:31. > :03:34.The other robots communicate with these leaders to find
:03:35. > :03:42.They can sense each other to avoid colliding, just like animals do.
:03:43. > :03:45.These robots could one day be sent into dangerous situations
:03:46. > :03:47.like a natural disaster, searching for survivors,
:03:48. > :03:54.or much further into space, looking for life on another planet.
:03:55. > :04:00.With me now is Dr Gavin Brown, a robotics expert.
:04:01. > :04:05.Thank you for joining us this morning. They look really
:04:06. > :04:10.interesting, but what can they actually be used for? There are 1000
:04:11. > :04:13.possible uses, one of the most exciting things would be to send
:04:14. > :04:17.them into places that are too dangerous for humans to get to. For
:04:18. > :04:22.examples, earthquakes, you could find a thousand there, or you could
:04:23. > :04:26.send them to the moon and they could build objects for us but we might
:04:27. > :04:33.need when we are up there. And they are quite cheap to produce? They
:04:34. > :04:39.are, each one of those little robot is 10p piece sized, costs five or ?6
:04:40. > :04:45.to make it can be made in five minutes. Why are we taking
:04:46. > :04:51.inspiration from animals? Animals have evolved how to do things we
:04:52. > :04:57.cannot do yet, house flies can flap their fight -- wings 2000 times a
:04:58. > :05:00.second and are more manoeuvring to the fighter jet. There are
:05:01. > :05:02.universities all over the UK doing similar things, we are competing
:05:03. > :05:05.with the Americans! You can see more about those robots
:05:06. > :05:08.on our website and that's also where we want you to let us know how you
:05:09. > :05:12.got your name this morning. It's all because the list

:05:23. > :05:27.won the 3000 metre steeplechase race but took his vest
:05:28. > :05:30.off to celebrate in the last few Spain then complained that that was
:05:31. > :05:36.against the rules and so he was disqualified
:05:37. > :05:41.and stripped of the gold medal. That's it but join me
:05:42. > :05:43.at 8.55am to see the footy match disrupted by cows
:05:44. > :05:57.and find out which Premier League Get to the website and tell us how
