:00:09. > :00:10.Hi, guys, you're watching Newsround with me, Ricky, this Monday morning.

:00:11. > :00:20.I'm live in Scotland where this week's big teferendum

:00:21. > :00:22.I'm live in Scotland where this week's big referendum

:00:23. > :00:27.And keep watching for some very exciting space news!

:00:28. > :00:29.First, could any race be closer than this?

:00:30. > :00:32.It's only three days now before people in Scotland get to

:00:33. > :00:36.The big question, should Scotland be an independent country?

:00:37. > :00:40.At the moment, it's just too close to call.

:00:41. > :00:43.Today, politicians on both sides of the debate will be travelling round

:00:44. > :00:47.Scotland trying to win over anyone who's not made their mind up yet.

:00:48. > :00:58.Hello from Stirling, the latest stop on Newsround's Scotland tour.

:00:59. > :01:02.Behind me is the William Wallace monument.

:01:03. > :01:06.It remembers the famous Scotsman William Wallace who fought against

:01:07. > :01:08.England in Wars of Independence more than 700 years ago.

:01:09. > :01:13.So, this week's battle for Scottish independence isn't a new one!

:01:14. > :01:16.Now, one of the biggest issues for voters in the Scotland referendum

:01:17. > :01:24.It brings a lot of money and jobs into Scotland.

:01:25. > :01:27.Thousands of people work on the oil rigs.

:01:28. > :01:30.They drill down under the seabed to get to oil and gas,

:01:31. > :01:37.Workers have to spend weeks away from home though, because

:01:38. > :01:59.Hi, my name is Anna and my father works offshore in the North Sea. It

:02:00. > :02:03.is quite unusual how he gets to work, he flies in a helicopter! To

:02:04. > :02:09.date me and my father are going to tell you all about it. What is your

:02:10. > :02:16.dad up to now? He is checking in, and it is a bit like a airport. The

:02:17. > :02:23.helicopter can only take a certain amount of weight. This is a bit like

:02:24. > :02:29.a suit that a mother or father might wear going to work, but this is what

:02:30. > :02:34.my dad wears going to work. It is a safety suit on the helicopter. What

:02:35. > :02:38.is it like working on an oil rig in the middle of the North Sea? I

:02:39. > :02:43.suppose it is similar to being on a ship. You are out in the middle of

:02:44. > :02:47.the sea and all you can see is the sea. Every day you are working 12

:02:48. > :02:54.hour shifts. You see the odd wildlife. You see seals quite

:02:55. > :02:59.regularly. You also see sharks and the odd killer whale. That is

:03:00. > :03:03.amazing. How do you feel about your dad working on the oil rig?

:03:04. > :03:07.Sometimes I am quite sad because he is not here for my birthday. If he

:03:08. > :03:13.is not here for my birthday he is here for Christmas. He does the

:03:14. > :03:19.occasionally more -- e-mail or called me and my brother every day.

:03:20. > :03:25.There is always a telephone and eye can e-mail. This does -- does this

:03:26. > :03:29.give you a better understanding about what your dad does? Yes, I can

:03:30. > :03:35.now understand why he is always too tired! Thank you very much. I had

:03:36. > :03:45.fun. Should we go now? Let's do this thing! Next stop, news round

:03:46. > :03:50.headquarters will stop the striker headquarters. But did not make it to

:03:51. > :03:52.the headquarters. So, just a few days left

:03:53. > :03:55.before that big vote. If you have any questions you still

:03:56. > :03:57.want answered, then ask them on the Newsround website

:03:58. > :04:00.and we'll put them to our expert. Now to the very latest

:04:01. > :04:12.on attempts to land the first ever Later this morning the European

:04:13. > :04:17.Space Agency will announce where they hope the Rosetta probe will

:04:18. > :04:20.touch down for the historic landing. But picking the right spot

:04:21. > :04:34.has proved pretty tricky. The probe has been chasing this

:04:35. > :04:38.comet across space for more than ten years, and last month, there were

:04:39. > :04:43.huge celebrations when it finally entered its orbit. But that was just

:04:44. > :04:48.the beginning. European Space Agency experts think that getting the probe

:04:49. > :04:52.to land on the comets could help discover some of the ancient

:04:53. > :04:56.mysteries of the universe. Finding the right place to try and land that

:04:57. > :05:00.is really important to the success of the mission. Things that could go

:05:01. > :05:05.wrong is, if the common lands on a slave, it could topple over. It

:05:06. > :05:11.could fall into a crevasse or land on a rock. The comet is oddly shaped

:05:12. > :05:17.and travelling at millions of miles an hour. On top of that, there is no

:05:18. > :05:21.gravity, so even if it does touch down safely, it could still fly

:05:22. > :05:25.away. To try and stop that, the probe has been fitted with a special

:05:26. > :05:30.harpoon that will launch itself into the surface of the comet. The

:05:31. > :05:32.landing sites will be announced later this morning, with it hoping

:05:33. > :05:36.to reach the surface by November. Time for some sport,

:05:37. > :05:38.and Manchester United's record signing Angel di Maria scored in his

:05:39. > :05:41.first match at Old Trafford, in a The club's ?59.7 million signing

:05:42. > :05:45.fired in a free-kick to set his side on the way to

:05:46. > :05:51.their first win of the season. That's all from the Newsround

:05:52. > :05:54.team for this morning.
