:00:00. > :00:13.Good afternoon. You are watching Newsround with me, Martin. Have you
:00:14. > :00:17.been having fun and raising lots of cash today? You tell us your Pudsey
:00:18. > :00:26.plans as we look ahead to a star-studded night of TV. Find out
:00:27. > :00:31.why I look a bit of a wally for children in need. But first, to a
:00:32. > :00:35.part of the world where for a week, children have been trying to cope in
:00:36. > :00:39.unimaginable conditions. For the first time, we've been hearing from
:00:40. > :00:42.kids caught up in the typhoon, which tore through the Philippines in
:00:43. > :00:45.South East Asia. Many have been separated from their families. But
:00:46. > :00:49.there are places of safety and hope for them too. The BBC's Jeremy Cooke
:00:50. > :01:02.has been to a school in the badly hit city of Tacloban, which has been
:01:03. > :01:07.turned into a refugee camp. This is a Philippines high school, one of
:01:08. > :01:12.the few buildings left standing after the storm surge swept through
:01:13. > :01:17.here a short time ago. What it is now in essence is a refugee camp.
:01:18. > :01:22.These people have come in from the region, most of them telling a
:01:23. > :01:34.similar story of destroyed homes. I am happy that my family is united
:01:35. > :01:38.and my cousins are alive. One weekend we were all fine and
:01:39. > :01:43.together and now we do not know if some of them are actually alive.
:01:44. > :01:49.Most people we have spoken to say they are not hungry, not yet, and
:01:50. > :01:54.they have water. What they are desperate for a shelter. They have
:01:55. > :02:00.no homes to go back to. They really do, at this point, need help from
:02:01. > :02:05.the international community. Teachers from the school are taking
:02:06. > :02:09.details of the families who are registered. Something like 250
:02:10. > :02:15.families already. They are taking down names and giving each family a
:02:16. > :02:21.number. When international aid starts to arrive, they will be
:02:22. > :02:26.allocated a in an orderly fashion. Everyone is trying to stay positive
:02:27. > :02:30.but it is positivity in the face of real human tragedy. Now, did you
:02:31. > :02:34.wear your pyjamas to school today? All round the country, thousands of
:02:35. > :02:38.you got dressed up in silly stuff to help raise millions of pounds for
:02:39. > :02:41.Children in Need. These are just some of the brilliant photos you've
:02:42. > :02:46.sent us. And, tonight, it all gets seriously star-studded. We'll be
:02:47. > :02:48.able to see an exclusive clip from the Doctor Who 50th anniversary
:02:49. > :02:52.special. The mighty One Direction will be auctioning off the Pudsey
:02:53. > :02:56.they designed. And it's the final of the One Show's rickshaw challenge.
:02:57. > :03:00.Well, loads of you have been doing your bit too. Ricky has been to one
:03:01. > :03:08.school where they have really been getting into the Children in Need
:03:09. > :03:13.spirit. I am sure many of you would have turned up to school in your
:03:14. > :03:18.pyjamas. At this school in Salford, the whole school has turned up
:03:19. > :03:29.dressed as title case where's Wally? Sentence
:03:30. > :03:40.do you feel a little bit silly? Quite embarrassed. I feel a little
:03:41. > :03:52.bit silly but it is all in a good cause. What about you? A little bit
:03:53. > :03:58.weird. It is all for a good cause. They have this giant cookie here.
:03:59. > :04:02.You can catch all the action from 7pm tonight. Until then, goodbye.
:04:03. > :04:05.Thanks, guys. Since the annual Children in Need appeal began in

:04:11. > :04:14.across the UK. One of the projects it helps is Abraham Moss Warriors -
:04:15. > :04:23.a football club in Manchester - with kids from 44 different countries.
:04:24. > :04:26.One of them is Ali, who came to the UK from Afghanistan. Since joining,
:04:27. > :04:29.his confidence has soared. He has even been watched by Manchester
:04:30. > :04:38.United and says the club's changed his life. I started coming here
:04:39. > :04:43.three and a half years ago. If I did not have the chance to play for
:04:44. > :04:47.Abraham Moss warriors, I would probably be sat at home playing
:04:48. > :04:50.computer games. There is more on that story on the Newsround website.
:04:51. > :04:53.And you've been telling us how you've been enjoying Children In
:04:54. > :04:57.Need too. Sophie in Hertfordshire charged ?1 per cake and raised loads
:04:58. > :05:01.of money for Children in Need. Kaiya in West Yorkshire says, We did Spots
